@SandNStarsNJ I had really loved Henrik for a boy. My husband vetoed. I also loved Thatcher.. again. Vetoed. Landed on Nicholas which I love too but Henrik was one of my top votes. I love Henry too. And if you really love it I wouldn't let popularity get to you (easier said than done I know).
Can I switch the thread to boy names? We've been going back and forth with names for our DS and my DH keeps coming back to Henry, which I've always loved but is very popular right now. Three people I work with have named their sons Henry in the past year. Am I crazy to be letting that affect my ability to be comfortable with Henry?
I think it just depends on how much you care about it being popular. He will probably have other classmates names Henry since it is popular these last few years. I was always 1 of 2-3 Kelly's wherever I went in school and beyond but it didn't affect me or anything.
That being said we are definitely staying away from any of the super trendy names altho I've seen some of the classic names still on most popular lists so who knows.
Henry is super cute! I like Harrison too but I have had several students names Harrison and we just gained a Henry in the family on my in laws side. We decided on Michael after my dad and Andrew which is my FILs name and husbands middle name. I originally wanted Michael Elliot but figured I couldn't argue too much as I love the idea of family names. Maybe if we have another boy we can use Elliot.
@sandnstarsnj honestly, that would bother me. I would feel very awkward announcing the name.
That's exactly what I'm concerned about. @anne11716 I like Harrison, but DH is concerned if every abbreviated to Harry, his name would sound a lot like "Hairy Ball Sack". Our last name is a toughy. Michael and Elliot are also lovely - one is DH's name and the other was a possibility early in the pregnancy.
Anders is his first name. Still not 100% on middle name. So far it is Anders Lucas, but the last name also begins with "S" which is a little too much s sound I think.
@Britt428 I love both of those combinations - If we had a girl she would have been Amelia Marie a mix of your top two. I am still in love with the name Amelia so Amelia Claire gets my vote. Are there any ties to a particular name that may help you decide?
Corrie Edythe Joy. Corrie for my grandfather who lost his battle with cancer in May, Edythe for DH's adorably sweet grandma and Joy is a name passed through to the first girl born in my family. Some people aren't huge fans of the name choice, but there's a lot of meaning behind it all. We personally love it though

Thank you @anne11716 and @LadyBugMe101! @LadyBugMe101 not really any ties to either one to help decide. I'm just glad to have it narrowed down to 2. DH has not been very helpful on the name front. It's definitely going to be a tough choice.

Could you do Luca?
Funny you said that, it is actually my top choice but I still have to convince my husband since he prefers Lucas. I also really like Anders Sebastian, but knowingly giving my kid the initials A.S.S seems kind of mean lol.

Agreed. Luca/Lucas is pretty much the same except Luca = Italian, and Lucas = Greek (and the obvious too many "s" problem you would have.) Good luck on convincing him.
