  • Alright, I'll admit it. My mom is driving me NUTS. I've been in Italy for a week with her, and have a week left to go. I think I might have to take a day with hubbs to do our own thing so I can have a break. It's just a mom thing...they drive me crazy just by being nice. MIL is the same way.
  • @kipperoo Ugh your sister sounds like a treat. Hopefully your parents will cut financial ties soon so she can grow up. It's unfortunate that some family members just don't get involved. My BIL lived a mile from us before we moved and he never visits unless it's for a holiday dinner or to pick something up. Every time he was around, DD didn't really know who he was.

    No waffles for anybody today so far, but I do have tacos to the pediatrician practice that I took DD to for her 2 year wellness check-up. It was our first time there and in spite of the doctor calling off sick, someone else stepped in and turned out to be absolutely fantastic. I couldn't be more pleased by the experience there. And DD did such a great job. =)

  • Can I say everyone? Hahaha! I'm so tired and sore and having a rough day so I'm pretty sure everyone should just stay away. I'm saving all of my patience and kindness for my kids so everyone else is in for it.

  • My flipping family!!! We went on a family vacation last month that did not go well. My brother and I were being silly and goofing around, and then he ended up over reacting to something in a physical way.  Nothing major, but I ended up with bruises on my arm and neck, which I don't think is cool. We talked through things, and even though I'm not necessarily upset with him anymore, I'm also not jumping at opportunities to hang out with him. My birthday is Sat, and we've got plans to take DS to this dinosaur exhibit thing. I'm really excited to go and mentioned it in passing to my mom. She sort of invited herself and my dad, which is fine, but also is pressuring me to invite my brother and his kids. Apparently I'm being a drama queen and "driving a wedge in the family" by not wanting to include them. I haven't said one bad thing about my brother. I didn't refuse to socialize with him for my mom's birthday a few weeks ago. I haven't asked anyone to take sides or even vented my feelings about his behavior to anyone other than my husband. I literally have acted like nothing happened as far as my family is concerned. I don't understand this at all, or why not wanting to my birthday to be weird is such a big deal.

    People suck.

  • @kipperoo I feel you with the siblings making poor life choices. Most of the choices my brother makes seem to make me face palm and think "really?!" He moved 7hrs away recently with his (very young) girlfriend of 6 months (who he is basically financially supporting) and his cat. She opted to stop going to a school that she would have no student loans when finished and transfer to one down there that she will have HUGE amounts of student loans when she is done. Class has been in session for a couple weeks and she has skipped a bunch all ready. Oh and he decided to add a puppy to the mix about a week in to living there. I just can't get myself to talk to him right now. Sorry your sister is driving you crazy.

    @ChristinaWild people do suck!!

    My TW is my hormones today. Nothing is wrong and today is like any other Tuesday, but I have been on the verge of tears all day because I couldn't seem to handle seeing my DS leave to go to grandma's for the day with DH this morning.

  • I've been home a lot lately (school starts next week). My TW is my cat. I love her, but my patience is wearing thin this week. I adopted her 2 yrs ago. She's a sweet kitty, but she is curious and vocal and sometimes it's not cute.
    She is an indoor/outdoor cat. Somehow, last summer, we gave up on making her stay in at night. Now she meows whenever she wants in or out. It used to be once in the middle of the night. Now, she'll come back in two or three times just to check if she has food. (Which she doesn't, because we don't free feed her). Then she wants back out immediately.
    We joke about being prepared for a baby since the cat wakes us EVERY single night already. We are moving soon and hopefully we can get a cat door there. We can't where we are at now. Then at least she could go in and out without waking up the neighborhood. She seriously meows from outside my front door loud enough to wake me from my sleep. We have an old, small apartment so the noise doesn't have to carry far, but still. Thanks for letting me vent.
  • @tumbleweed I feel your pain!  One of my dogs goes through spurts where he will ask to go out two or three times per night and it is horrible!  My 21-month-old DS is way easier than our dogs sometimes.
  • Louise_Belcher I have been crying about the silliest things lately!! I cried when one of the Frozen songs started playing on my son's Pandora station.  I mean, I would get it if it was the theme song to Up, but Frozen?? Come on, hormones!!!

    Kipperoo  I'm sorry, that blows!  I totally understand.  My sister, to a lesser extent, did some of the same with my first.  My due date was Dec 25 and my sister scheduled a vacation to see her boyfriend on Dec 29, even though I told her I would probably be late.  A flight in which she wouldn't be back for months.  I mean, she's one of my best friends but it really made me feel like she cared nothing for her nephew and I was annoyed for a while about that.  Especially since she missed my baby shower because she was mad at someone else attending.  I was so proud of my newborn for waiting until Dec 31 to be born because I can be spiteful like that LOL

    My TW is my father.  I love him to death, but I was forced last night to listen to him spew a ton of non-PC verbal diarrhea to my 16-year-old impressionable brother.  I'm not going to say what he was saying since I don't want anyone to know just how insanely bigoted my dad can be, but I was literally ready to punch someone. Luckily I have a husband and 3 other siblings I could commiserate with.  Because otherwise, I don't know what I would have done!
  • @Jbananas4 I cried while watching Angela Lansbury sing the Beauty and the Beast theme for the 25th anniversary on youtube. I then proceeded to watch it 4 more times. Hormones! Also so sorry about your father. I have those people in my family too. I love them dearly, but things they think and say turn me red with anger and make me want to vomit.

  • My TW is my damn dog. We adopted him in December and should have crate trained him immediately but didn't because he was my first dog and I didn't know any better, and DH is super slow in the winter as he does excavation so was home with him all the time. He has ruined so much of my stuff (yoga mat, sneakers, workout DVDs, wedding DVD, food, razor, you name it, he's chewed it). He recently ripped up the rug in the laundry room/work out room we keep him in. So I bought a large crate, he's only 30 lbs, so he fits with lots of room.
    DH calls me today to tell me he's "gotten out" here times in the last week from the crate... And is just hanging out in the house when he gets home. Although every time I've put him in the crate and come home to let him out he's in there. And now he's been pulling and moving some of the metal bars in the crate.
    WTF! If I let him roam around hell just ruin more of my stuff, and I can't keep buying $100 crates to last a month!
    Worst part is I love him to pieces and can't ever stay mad at him.

    Oh man. We adopted our 35 lb pup last October. I got a crate that she loves from TJ max for super cheap! Maybe the crate is too large? There should only be room for them to turn around and lay back down. The key to stopping our pups destruction when we were gone was to give her a good walk every morning afternoon and night. I also feel like she changed a bit around 10 months and stopped chewing so much.

    @mamatowildones
    He''s over a year! And an aggressive chewer. We got him a bigger crate because we had a smaller one and he was peeing in it daily (I think he's anxious when we leave because we spoiled him initially).
    He gets up with me in the morning before work when I work out and he will play with me or go outside for a bit. I also bring him out immediately to play for as long as he wants when I come home. FML
