Hello, let me introduce myself first..
For the first 30 years of my life, everything was smooth and worry-free. I was my parents’ most beloved child, found my true love in college, and happily married him after graduation.
At work, I was my boss’s most valued employee. Whenever I was in charge of a project, colleagues would inevitably say, “Oh, then I’m totally at ease.” I was constantly named “Employee of the Year,” with generous bonuses every year.
Later, I started my own business. Within just three months, I had broken into the market and started making money. By the fifth month, I was earning twice my previous salary. Growth was steady month after month. Right when the business needed more hands, I serendipitously met an amazing partner, and the company reached a whole new level.
Really, it seemed like at every step, whatever I needed, a pair of hands would always place it right in front of me, just in time.
My Two Girls: Ellie & Mia
Meet Ellie, My Firstborn
In 2020, my husband and I decided to have a child. After trying for over a year, we finally got the news in 2021 that a little one was on the way. In 2022, we welcomed our first child, Ellie. She made me a mother.
She is utterly adorable—big eyes, rosy skin, chubby little hands. Every time I look at her, I can’t help but give her a kiss. She is pure joy, and I love her more each day.
But as a first-time mom, I faced unprecedented difficulties. The postpartum tearing wouldn’t heal, and the pain was excruciating. Clogged milk ducts made my breasts hard as rocks. The severe sleep deprivation… And what was even more crushing was that, with zero parenting experience, I was clueless when faced with her unexplained wailing, night terrors, refusal to nurse, constipation, diarrhea, fevers… I desperately searched online, longing for one accurate, truly useful answer!
It was during this time that I thought, once I make it through this “dark” path, I must leave a light on for other new moms.
And Then Came Mia
Ellie had just turned one when I got pregnant again. In 2024, we welcomed our second daughter, Mia.
Completely different from Ellie, Mia is a great eater and sleeper. Although she had her fussy moments in the first two months, starting almost from month three, she became super easygoing. She feeds on schedule, gradually sleeps through the night, loves her solid foods, and adapted quickly when I had to stop breastfeeding due to mastitis.
This made me realize just how vastly different babies can be! It made me even more determined to write about my experiences.
Why I Had to Start This Blog
The Catalyst: A Life Pivoted
After Mia was born, my business also began to decline sharply. I had no choice but to close it and become a full-time mom. My work no longer involves Excel and Word, but instead revolves around changing diapers, washing bottles, making baby food, and managing household chores…
This has been a monumental challenge for me. All my past achievements seem irrelevant now. Managing two young children has brought me a sense of frustration I’ve never known before.
The Daily Reality
They are always fighting over things. When one is in my arms, the other immediately demands to be held too. When I try to cook, Ellie wants me to read her a book. When I attempt to load the washing machine, Mia has a diaper blowout, and I must drop everything to change her…
By the time I finish all that, I see the cup of hot coffee on the table has gone cold again. And it’s not until evening that I remember, “Oh my goodness, the clothes are still in the hamper, unwashed!”
Of course, being a mom is filled with happiness, but that doesn’t negate how hard it is.
My Promise to You
Because I’ve walked this path myself, I won’t just tell you how joyful motherhood is, like many websites do. I want to share my real, unfiltered experiences so every new mom can find a “companion” here.
I want to tell you: you are not alone. What you’re going through, I’ve been there too. Your breakdowns, your helplessness, your moments of losing control—I’ve had them all. You don’t need to feel guilty. This is just a small, necessary stretch of the journey for every mom.
My Hope for This Space
I really want to share my parenting experiences—not just the warm, glowing moments, but to honestly document the pitfalls I’ve stumbled into, the tears I’ve shed, and the “survival wisdom” I’ve scraped together in utter exhaustion.
The Goal: A Mom’s Toolkit
I hope this blog becomes a “mom’s toolkit,” filled not with vague theories, but with:
- Practical Tips: Like how to quickly figure out why a baby is crying, tried-and-true methods for dealing with clogged ducts, or how to efficiently manage the daily grind with twins (or two under two) solo.
- Pitfall Avoidance Guides: Sharing the baby products I regret buying the most, and those “game-changer” parenting hacks. Letting you know which parenting anxieties you can let go of, and which principles are worth holding onto.
- A Community for Moms: I hope my stories connect me with more moms like you. We can cheer each other on in the comments, share our own tricks, turning the storms we face alone into a journey we walk together.
The Bigger Vision
My previous career taught me to analyze data, solve problems, and optimize processes. Now, I’m applying all those skills to this new “position” of Mom. I want to prove that a mom’s value is absolutely not confined to the home. The mindset, resilience, and creativity we built in our careers can shine just as brightly—perhaps even brighter—in this more complex, long-term “project” of raising humans, and can even be transformed into a force that helps others.
My hope is simple: that every mom who opens this blog can let out a sigh of relief and say, “So it’s not just me.” Then, she can find a bit of practical info, a dose of comforting solidarity, and return to her sweet, chaotic mom-life with a little more confidence and a little less weight on her shoulders.
This road? Let’s walk it together.
Re: ****TTCAL Weekly Check-in September 19th****
3. Rants/raves: Rant- Why are AF and pregancy symptoms so similar? They make me more crazy every month than I should be.
4. GTKY: In honor of the Emmys last night, tell us what TV shows you are most excited about coming back. Any new shows you can't wait to watch?
I'm very excited for The Walking Dead to come back in October. I know it was a mess the last season until the last few eps, but I've been invested since the beginning so I feel obligated to watch.
I am in the TWW I guess, still during my fertile days and trying to have good timing when BD.
3. Rants/raves:
It's a holiday here in Chile, so an extra day to rest (and BD) is always welcome!
4. GTKY: In honor of the Emmys last night, tell us what TV shows you are most excited about coming back. Any new shows you can't wait to watch?
we are catching up with Game of Thrones, we started watching this year from the beginning and we are so caught !!! Currently on season 5.
Other shows that I love: Big Bang theory, Call the Midwife (is there another season coming?), Gilmore girls (movies coming up on Netflix!), Master of None...
I started watching crazy ex girlfriend on the plane from Buenos Aires and I really like it! Now I have to find out where is it on....

3. Rants/raves: My kitchen is starting to look like a kitchen again! DH is seriously impressive - not only is he creative, he has the skill to make his designs a reality. It's going to look so good when it's done.
Also, I think I am going to be 2-0 in both of my Fantasy leagues despite some poor choices this weekend.
4. GTKY: In honor of the Emmys last night, tell us what TV shows you are most excited about coming back. Any new shows you can't wait to watch? Truthfully, I watch a lot of television - more than I should. Most excited about Grey's Anatomy (still a fan after all these years) returning and for new shows, I plan to check out This is Us and maybe The Good Place (which keeps surprising me with good reviews). I also want to catch a new show called Atlanta, Donald Glover's new program on FX that sounds really interesting.
@yolandamunoz I also love Big Bang Theory. It comes back on tonight here in the States - do you have to wait or will it start there around the same time?
@szwill86 My DH is a huge fan of The Walking Dead, but I usually read or zone out on a game while he watches. I just can't get into it! One cool thing about it being filmed in Georgia is that I know a few folks who have played extras in the show. Seems like a lot of fun!

3. Rant. Just my lining issue. I'm really confused by it. I get full AF ever month and it's never been an issue before. I'm so scared there is some scar tissue in my uterus. If so that another procedure I have to have. One thing at a time I guess. I started RAspberry leaf tea and the estrogen pills over the weekend so hopefully it helped. Rave. My nurse at the RE office is amazing. She's been extremely supportive. It makes such a difference
4. GTKY. I'm looking forward to Homeland coming back. All my other shows like Game of Thrones, and Bloodline, are way off next year and Bloodline was cancelled. Also House of Cards ( I love that show)!

The only difference is that last time, I waited to call my dr's office because if it was a CP, they wouldn't do anything. This time, they want me coming in CD35 if I haven't started a period.

3. Rants/raves: I'm ready for fall, summer was just too hot and sticky lol and also have a new location at work and really over cleaning it and prepping it for when it opens. It's a new restaurant but we are hoping it will open with no hitches as money is tight these days as a result!
4. GTKY: In honor of the Emmys last night, tell us what TV shows you are most excited about coming back. Any new shows you can't wait to watch? I can't wait for the blacklist to come back. I'm a big James Spader fan
3. Benched right now just waiting for AF to come. I can't do any of the RPL testing until AF comes. A part of me is just enjoying this in between time not worrying about ttcal. I know once AF comes I will have to focus on the testing my RE wants me to get down and then Im sure I will be in the full swing of ttcal.
4. Im looking forward to Modern Family, Mindy Project and Walking Dead coming back. I was going to start watching This is Us ( looks a little sad from promos though) and The Good Place bec I love Kristen Bell. Also will be rewatching Gilmore Girls in anticipation of netflix revival in November. Can't wait for Nashville, Scandal and Game of Thrones to come back after the new year.
@szwill86 - Ive watched walking dead since the beginning too -hoping it picks up. That last episode had my stomach in knots - so I think Neegan will certainly be interesting.
@aera11 - we are on the same tv show wavelengh!
@fivetimesnoluck - I watch way too much TV too - no shame! lol Im glad The Good Place got good reviews I could use another fun light hearted tv show and I love Kristen Bell.
@yolandamunoz - yay Gilmore Girls! I was thinking of starting Crazy Ex Girlfriend on netflix it looks cute.

3. Rants/raves: Been a bit frustrated with being a stepmom this week. I feel like I'm always the last one in the loop when it comes to our stepdaughter, but I always have to go along with the decision anyway. I do all the hard work of being a mom to this kid (the homework help, the laundry, driving her to camp all summer, knowing where everything she misplaces is- just mom type stuff), but I'm not her mom and never will be. As someone struggling TTC, it's really hard to keep going through the motions but not having the reward. I never get the 'I love you Mom' when she goes to sleep. I don't know. It's a different kind of love. I love her and care for her, but I don't have that connection I feel like I would have to a child I raised. She's been living with us full time since she was six, but that's still six years of really important development I missed out on, and we just don't have the bond I thought we would.
4. GTKY: In honor of the Emmys last night, tell us what TV shows you are most excited about coming back. Any new shows you can't wait to watch?
I'm excited for the new show, This is Us. I also like Big Bang Theory, the Walking Dead, Modern Family, and I'm looking forward to Life in Pieces returning.
hey @fivetimesnoluck it airs here on Warner channel on cable so I think we have to wait a bit....
On GOT im catching up to finishing 5th season I just don't want it to be over and then have to wait till April!
@tscalei yes!! I watched GG again a few months ago. And I don't think crazy ex GF is in souhamerican Netflix. Better go check!!!

3.) R/R I'm honestly not too upset about this BFN. We only tried once and I'm not sure I was quite ready to be pregnant yet. Full speed ahead to October!
DH is VERY sick and he never gets sick. He has the Influenza A/pneumonia He's had a temperature over 101 for 4 days now, so I'm really worried. Obviously, his health is my biggest concern, but the thought did cross my mind that this high temperature is not going to help his swimmers. My next FW should be in 3 weeks. Anyone know is that enough time to mend? Also, would it increase our chance of abnormal chromosomes? As always, I'm much more concerned about bad egg/sperm than anything else.
4.) GTKY: I love hearing about everyone else's shows. I'm also super excited about Greys, Big Bang Theory, and Modern Family. I'm going to try out that new show about the family with a child with cerebral palsy and Atlanta as well.
3) Things at home have been really turbulent since the MC, but after DH and my's big blow out last week, things seem to have taken a really positive turn. Still benched for the remainder of the year, but glad it looks like separating is likely off the table.
Since this my last cycle trying this year, I'm really hoping I'll get lucky. Trying to stay relaxed and not analyze my body too much. Trying to be hopeful and positive without setting myself up for a disappointment spiral.
4) Right now we live in a remote place without normal wifi or television. I had no idea the Emmy's were this weekend. I'm totally out of the pop culture loop! We have a movie downloaded onto DH's laptop. Excited to watch The Other Guys as many times as we like.
2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): WTO CD 11
3. Rants/raves: My rave is that i'm actually succeeding in mentally relaxing this month with ttcal. I have been so obsessed the past few months and so let down when I'm not ku that I decided, for real this time, to try to just relax and live life not constantly thinking about where i am in my cycle, what my cd is, what my cm is doing, planning bd, peeing on everything i can find, it's been exhausting. DH is on the day shift now so I'm hoping to have a more natural bd plan instead of a forcing quickies before he goes to work the midnight shift. I'm still temping and will do opk later in the week but I'm not nearly as obsessive as I was previous months. hopefully I can continue this throughout the rest of my cycle. that will be the hard part for sure.
4. GTKY: In honor of the Emmys last night, tell us what TV shows you are most excited about coming back. Any new shows you can't wait to watch? I'm so bad with tv show, almost everything I watch I happen to catch on while flipping around or watch on dvr.

I love all the shows lol BBT, Grey's, Modern Family, Scandal, it goes on and on
@yolandamunoz You and I have very similar TV tastes. I love Big Bang Theory and cannot wait for the new Gilmore Girls movies. I know what I'm doing the day after Thanksgiving in the US - screw shopping!
@DungeonTrollMel - fingers crossed that your ovaries cooperate!
@fivetimesnoluck I'm glad your kitchen is coming together. I'm addicted to house renovation shows (Property Brothers, anyone?), so I love a good kitchen reno. It's so helpful that your H is handy. Mine.... Not so much
@roxgibbons I hope your lining is just a one-off thing. I'm so sorry it seems to be one thing after another for you. Here's hoping you get a good break soon!
@dpjennifer Glad to see you back! I was wondering where you were and hoping everything was OK. I'm glad your vacation was fun. And woohoo for no mosquito bites! Also, we've just started watching Outlander, but since I haven't been living completely under a rock the last few years, I know about the MC/stillbirth storyline. How traumatic was that to watch? It's making me hesitant to move to Season 2.
@chloe97 oh no! I'm sorry your H is sick. Hopefully you don't get the flu too. All I know about sperm issues is that sperm take 2.5 to 3 months to mature/develop. So I'd say chances are that you'd be fine the next couple months at least. Also, I think it mostly affects motility and count, but some of the ladies here dealing with MFI probably know way more than me.
@sftobktoyvr I'm glad things with your H are better. Talk of separation always sucks.
1. Not new, but I see new names. 33 yo. 2 MCs (Dec 15 and Apr 16).
2. Benched.
3. I finally got off my ass and went to get my blood drawn today to retest APS antibodies and my TSH. I was a major slacker on this, but we'll see what the results are. I'm hoping everything is normal, but I'm feeling calm about being able to deal with whatever the result is. H and I talked a lot about TTCAL on Friday (well, I mostly talked and H mostly chimed in... But I think he likes to let me get things off my chest since I tend to bottle things up). I think we may try to get an RE consult in November after all his job applications are in. Looks like we'll be benched until December - I can't decide how I feel about this. Part of me is enjoying the break, and it's nice to start to feel like myself again. The other part of me is sad that it means I won't have a baby by the time my first EDD rolls around again. Ugh.
4. Love Big Bang Theory. I also watch a lot of HGTV. Beyond that, H and I tend to watch streaming shows. I've been rewatching Friends and Gilmore Girls. I tend to gravitate towards lighter and fluffier shows, and H loves dark, gruesome, and cynical (House of Cards, Daredevil, Jessica Jones).
@yolandamunoz hooray for a long weekend and extra BDing
@DungeonTrollMel hoping O holds off so you can get the IUI! I might give You're The Worst a try if you like it (it's on shomi and I wondered if it's any good)
@fivetimesnoluck hoping that no symptoms is a symptom
@roxgibbons lol at H's comment
@Aera11 fx for you! We are also TWD fans
@MimoCa fx for you, too and GL waiting to test! I also love fall, but winter can wait, please
@TScalei glad you can find a little positive in waiting. Hugs to you
@dpjennifer happy your vacation was mostly good
@E2theB eeee FX for you! Will check in for an update tomorrow
@chloe97 sorry your H is sick and hoping it doesn't have any ill effects on his sperm
@SFtoBKtoYVR sooo happy to hear things are taking a positive turn for you and your H and I hope this last cycle is the one for you
@brooklyngirl18 glad you're feeling more relaxed this cycle
seriously @szwill86 I knew it was bad when my almost 2 year old who follows me to the bathroom everytime, knew to go in the drawer where i keep my opk, hpt and mini cups and hand them to me when I sit to pee.

@chloe97 - That is scary. I hope his temperature goes down and he is feeling better soon.
@SFtoBKtoYVR - I am glad you and DH are working things out.
2. Status: Benched. MMC on 9/1. I got a prescription on Friday that I was going to take tonight so I would miscarry tomorrow. Ironically, I started spotting this morning and mild cramps. I don't know if that means I should or should not use the prescription tonight. Waiting for a response from my OB.
3. Rant:I am looking forward to having some closure. I should be 10 weeks today and it really sucks that I am not.
Rave: My DH has been very loving and support. He is excited to try again.
4. GTKY: I didn't even know the Emmy's were on. I love Blacklist and Criminal Minds. I also loved Stranger Things on Netflix, but I rarely watch T.V.

@NewMommyCoop I hope this is over for you soon, whether your body takes care of this naturally or you take the medication. It's such a horrendous process and you're in my thoughts.
1. I'm new to this group, first loss on Thursday at 6 weeks 3 days.
2. WTO I hope... I still haven't actually spoken to my doctor, only other doctors and nurses giving lab results and I probably won't see her until my numbers get to <5. But from what research I've done, I'm hoping we can start TTC right away. I'm clinging to that hope right now. What has everyone else's experience been (although I realize we are all different and this won't change my own situation)?
3. My HCG went from 2600 to 800 in less than 48 hrs. I guess my body really didn't want to be pregnant anymore.
4. GTKY: we just got hooked on New Girl via Netflix and are totally obsessed. I text H random New Girl gifs throughout the day because at least it makes us smile!
@RiverSong15 you're right! Definetely waiting for the GG movies to binge watch them LOL!
I must say I also watch some other type of shows with my DH, like House of Cards, the Blacklist... He likes some super hero ones, we liked Jessica Jones a lot!
Any of you guys watched "Love" on Netflix? I think it was great, I hope they make a new season!

3. Rants/raves: My husband is seriously the bomb.com. Last week was really rough for me (appt where we were supposed to heart the heartbeat for the first time + all our family in town + work stress) and he rocked out being supportive. ALSO...this week will officially be Autumn and I could not be more pumped about it.
4. GTKY: In honor of the Emmys last night, tell us what TV shows you are most excited about coming back. Any new shows you can't wait to watch? ....I don't watch a lot of TV, but I love Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Arrow, The Flash, etc. I just usually binge-watch it when it hits Netflix.

I am excited for fast talking, sarcastic, strong women. I am excited to know if Rory ended up with someone. I hated all the "potential" men rather equally, although I did like Jess more in the end when she went to see him and he was working for the publishing company/published his book. He grew up a lot from the jerk hole that he was originally. .Dean became more of a jerk as time went on and Logan was just too "Gilmore-approved" for me.

@yolandamunoz I really enjoyed Love on Netflix!! And you all have me wanting to watch Gilmore Girls from the beginning now
1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Not new, but for those who are. I have had 2 mmc, both ending in D&C, with a 3rd D&C to remove retained tissue and a fibroid.
2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): Just when I think I am back in the game, I get benched again :'( ... Had my 3 week f/u with OB after having the hysteroscopy/fibroid removal and he wants us to wait one more cycle. He had originally said we needed to wait until I got my next AF... apparently this is not the case. Needless to say I am less than thrilled since I thought I was WTO with the hopes TTC this month. Has anyone experienced anything similar (hysteroscopy or fibroid removal)? How long were you told to wait?
3. Rants/raves: See above. Also my fantasy football team did not do so hot this week, hopefully next week I pick better starters.
4. GTKY: In honor of the Emmys last night, tell us what TV shows you are most excited about coming back. Any new shows you can't wait to watch?
I had no idea the Emmy's were last night, I was too busy watching the Packers play horribly... Hopefully they do better next week.
Otherwise I have recently become addicted to Last Man Standing and my guilty pleasure show is Scream Queens.

2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): TWW
3. Rants/raves: I feel like literally everyone on EARTH is pregnant right now. *Trigger Warning*
Some very weird acquaintances of ours just found out they are expecting again and their daughter is about 3 months old and she was breastfeeding and this is their fourth child between the two of them. Another couple we know just had their first baby at 21 and 22 years of age, and broke up 8 days after the baby was born. I am in the throws of "it's just not fair-itis" right now and trying to stay positive that this will be our month. *End of trigger warning*
4. GTKY: In honor of the Emmys last night, tell us what TV shows you are most excited about coming back. Any new shows you can't wait to watch? I'm still wading through Grey's Anatomy LOL ...
@hartmich - Im sorry to see you here and so sorry for your loss.
