How big is baby? Muskmelon, Cantaloupe, Butternut squash, Large bag of potato chips
How are you feeling? Tired, swollen, uncomfortable, and starting to get nervous about labor.
Upcoming appointments? We go this Friday for a very quick checkup. Looking forward to the 36 week checkup as they do an ultrasound at that one.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Rave: We finally got the nursery set up going full force!! We just need to pick out a rocker / recliner, and put some decorations up. I finally feel almost ready for this little guy which is relieving.
GTKY: What have you done to treat yourself lately?? I'm taking baths every so often, which is relaxing, but is also getting more uncomfortable. I think I'm going to treat myself by going out and getting a pedicure!!
How are you feeling? I had the worst bout of heartburn on Friday night that made me feel sicker than I was during first tri. Finally got some Zantac and while it's doing wonders for my heartburn, it's really bothering my stomach. Can't win!
Upcoming appointments? Check up on Wednesday
Rants/Raves/Questions: My husband was away this weekend and I was so productive! Bought the rest of the things we needed from Buy Buy Baby, did both my laundry and some baby laundry, decorated for fall, cleaned up the house, and put a stew in the crock pot at 8am this morning for football. I have no idea where this energy came from but I took advantage of it!
GTKY: What have you done to treat yourself lately?? Oh man...not much. I think it's time for a pedicure too!
How big is baby? Pomeranian, Ukulele, Bucket of Chicken, Winter Melon
How are you feeling? Pretty Good. I was tired yesterday after shopping for an hour.. I kept going though. I really felt pregnant..lol
Upcoming appointments? 38 week appt on Thursday with an ultrasound to measure AFI as mine has been higher. It keeps increasing (20cm at 36w, 23cm at 37w). If it gets to 30 they will talk about induction but they think that will hit right about 40weeks.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Crazy that I am almost done with the pregnancy. I'm hoping for one more weekend with just hubby and me. I've told him he can come anytime during week 39. If I don't have him then I'll be induced Oct 3/4th per Ob and MFM.
GTKY: What have you done to treat yourself lately?? I got my hair colored with blue/teal underlights and really long pedicure with navy blue glitter polish and white polka dots. I want my dh and I to go on a date night to dinner and movies sometime this week.
Not much.. just tired. I worked all weekend- and had a couple really busy patients so my feet are so tired. It's nice to be busy cause it makes 12 hours go quick, but it also sucks cause I'm so tired afterward.
GTKY: What have you done to treat yourself lately?? Nothing yet.. I am going to go get a pedicure this week some time and my nails done next week.. but that's about it
Just popping in to say I miss my ticker change thread sisters! Keep on trucking ladies! Not to be an AW buuut, this Sunday baby says hi and she's excited to see her ticker change peers!
@UponAStar16 she is SO freaking adorable!!! I made the ticker change for PP too, so feel free to keep checking in with us!! I'd love to know your symptoms and feelings PP.
How big is baby? TB says pineapple, but I swear she's been "pineapple sized" at least 3 times now, lol
How are you feeling? Physically pretty good, no major complaints at the moment
Upcoming appointments? U/S 9/30 to determine if she's still breech and discuss options from there. Pretty sure she still is.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I have been researching external versions since my doctor has discussed going this route if baby is still breech next week, and I'm feeling quite nervous about it! It doesn't look like the success rate is all that great, and from what I've read, is is an almost unbearably uncomfortable procedure.
GTKY: What have you done to treat yourself lately?? Treated myself to a huge, delicious brunch on Saturday and a day of shopping
@UponAStar16 She is absolutely adorable - that put the biggest smile on face! Welcome baby girl! Our first official "Sunday" baby! How are you doing mama? Recovery going okay?
Thanks @Pupatella and @suzy311, I totally overlooked the "PP" so not to be an AW double-poster but....
How far along / or how many weeks PP? One week PP
How big is baby? 7lbs10oz, down from 8-7 at birth
How are you feeling? Pretty good emotionally the majority of the time except yesterday was pretty rough with DH back to work....physically in some pain at c section site, weak and dizzy at times seeing spots/things going black, and ridic swelling in my feet/legs (like, painful/sore tree trunks you guys). So grateful carpal tunnel went from severe pain/numbness to just some tingling in my hands.
Upcoming appointments? Incision check with MFM Thursday and hopefully will remember to ask about the swelling and about anemia or whatever might be causing the black-out vision
Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm just so happy to have this baby on the outside! As awful as my labor and surgery stuff was, I'd do it again tonight if I had to
GTKY: What have you done to treat yourself lately?? I ordered wall decals to match the lamp in our nursery so the crib walk isn't blank, so I'm excited to finish decor (just waiting for the back-ordered area rug from PBK to ship in nov). I could see how online shopping, especially during night cluster feedings, could become a real problem! Oh and, DH stopped to get me a milkshake otw home from the pediatrician, and it was delicious.
@Kaessi hehe I'm glad! Recovery from the cs isn't as bad as I thought but I've overdone it a couple times. As for blackout vision I'm hoping maybe my dr will tell me just to take iron or some kind of supplement and not have it be related to pneumonia or a blood transfusion like it was for a friend! We'll see Thursday..
@Pupatella, @suzy311, @cbamama641 Do it! Treat yourself to a pedicure. I did it late 36 weeks to get my mind off the false labor, then went into labor at 37w5d and was glad my legs were shaved and my piggies were painted for the big PUSH! LOL.
How far along / or how many weeks PP? 5 days PP
How big is baby? 6lb14oz birth, 5lb10oz newborn visit, 6lb3oz very next day! 19" long at ped visit.
How are you feeling? Pretty good, all things considered. I had a 2nd degree vaginal tear, which is a bit sore but gets better every day. At least I can take ibuprofen now!!! Nipple soreness is tolerable.
Upcoming appointments? Visit with pediatrician 9/27 to f/u on weight, oral surgeon f/u same day.
Rants/Raves/Questions: So... I didn't even come in here because I was in a whirlwind frenzy of just being home from the hospital with baby, but I didn't even know post partumers were welcome to join. So here I am!
LO lost 12% of her bodyweight at her 2 day appointment. So we started aggressively pumping and supplementing with formula per the pediatrician's advice. I had asked everyone about a tongue tie: the nurse, lactation consultant, pediatrician. They all said everything seemed fine. Latch was good, they said. Latch hurt like hell, baby popped off repeatedly, nipple was mashed into oblong shape during feeds, baby woke up hungry nearly hourly and was so sleepy during feeds we couldn't keep her awake. It was awful. The "triple feed" method the pediatrician suggested took so long that I got 45 mins off sleep at a time trying to feed and pump LO. We hired a lactation consultant who suspected a tongue tie, who referred us to an oral surgeon that gave us a same day appointment and clipped it immediately. She had a complete tongue tie--type IV, the worst and most restrictive.
It is night and day after the procedure. Latch is good, no nipple damage, baby stays on the breast and can complete a full 40 min feeding without falling asleep from exhaustion. The pediatrician basically scolded us for going to another doctor, especially because he was an oral surgeon, but whatever. Baby is latching and feeding and gaining and not on formula (it was horribly constipating for her). Mom and Dad are happy and able to sleep for short stints. Mom doesn't feel like a failure for being unable to feed her baby adequately. We will be finding a new pediatrician!
GTKY: What have you done to treat yourself lately?? I had THREE donuts while bfing and pumping at 10:30 last night, and I'm not even sorry!
