MIL and BIL birthday dinner tonight at my house. I have a million things to do to get ready and all I really want to do is sit back, drink coffee and watch Netflix! Hubby has been working anywhere from 17-20 hours a day for this entire week and told me he is planning on staying late tonight so he won't have to go in tomorrow.... But he's on call so as much as he plans to stay home he probably won't get to. I also have 2.5 weeks of paperwork to catch up on... Ugh

I am babysitting my 2 month old niece today while my brother and his fiancee work on their condo. Later, DH and I are probably going to the drive-in movies to watch horror movies and maybe make-out a little.

I'm sick but on the bright side, have NO plans this weekend. So as cruddy as I might be feeling, I am loving that I have a reason to let myself spend a couple of days in bed just reading and watching tv. Also this may be a bit of a FFC, but DH is doing most of our weekend household cleaning without me. I would help but he is a totally germ-o-phobic, for lack of a better word, and won't let me touch anything since I'm a sniffly/blubbery mess. I should be insisting to help anyways but instead I'm just riding it out and enjoying the excuse to be lazy.

I'm enjoying my morning cup of tea and some old but still hilarious TB posts that were closed by the admins. It makes up for the fact that I just discovered my favorite flavor of tea (Lemon Lift black tea) has soy lecithin in it so I can't have it anymore!

Going to see my godson today and then my nieces later on! I love seeing DH with our nieces and nephews he is so good with kids makes me love him even more! Been on the diet train trying to lose some weight to help with TTC and prepare for pregnancy and DH has been on a diet to support me as well so we can be in pain together

@adirat it's crazy how many things have soy in them! Checking labels will really shed some light on it. Check your PNV too! It took me forever to find one without any soy!!

Like @magnolia131 I am also sick. Feeling better than yesterday though, so that is a bonus. I did our grocery shopping today so the rest of the day is relaxing. Tomorrow we are supposed to go see a family friend to cook out with him. His mom died recently and his wife left town so we didn't want him to be alone.

Spent yesterday visiting my friend and her 6 day old. She was anti-kids and single, but had an "oops". She insists she will never have another one and said it was all easy, except for her GD. I was glad to see how good of a job she is doing at being a mom, though. We are playing softball today and tomorrow and celebrating SIL's birthday today and DH's niece's first birthday tomorrow.
@magnolia131 I feel you! I got sick the first day of school for staff and haven't fully recovered yet. I'm almost to the point where I can go hours without blowing my nose now. With symptoms other than runny nose / post nasal drip, I'm wondering if I was sick before and it just continued with fall allergies.
@MotherofDragons Been there, done that. We are supposed to come off the Zika-TTC ban this cycle, but disability insurance coverage may not start in time. I might say the hell with it and risk it because of my age, but I'm worried because we could be screwed if DH get hurt and can't work when we buy a new house.

@NYTino24 I've been following your disability insurance saga. That's ridiculous they've dragged this out and it's affecting your life. I don't blame you for saying "screw it" and trying anyway.

Our whole Zika debate is that I'm scared and want to maybe hold off ttc for a bit as the zone in Miami has spread furthe (we live in Orlando). My husband thinks we can't stop our lives for every "what if" especially since we are following every single precaution. He wasn't happy that I asked to put it off. I'm just scared.

@EL824 I'm sorry that you're sick too and hope you feel better.

@NYTino24 Ugh, I'm glad you're doing better but know what you mean. I thought I had an allergy flare up for the first half of the week and it wasn't until about Wednesday night that I realized it was more.

@Mother0fDragons I'm sorry you and your husband had a fight. Being in Miami, the Zika thing is definitely a topic that DH and I continue to check in with each other about. I think it's normal to feel anxious or scared about it. Minimizing risk while TTC is one thing, but what I often come back to is how it would be if I were KU and the Zika issue were still present...would I be able to cope with that anxiety in addition to everything else that comes along with being pregnant? Weighing the risks against the knowledge that I don't have many cycles to lose has been challenging, especially when there's no guarantee that Zika is going away anytime soon. I definitely think that if you have doubts/fears, that it's worth discussing with your DH once he is able to be a little more receptive to your feelings. It helped us a lot to speak about it with our doctor as well. Nobody can make the choice for you, but it's been helpful to me moving forward to know that I've considered all of my feelings on the matter, which is what it sounds like you're trying to do now.

I'm just hanging out, waiting for my family to get to my place so we can caravan out to the homestead to do some farmer joe stuff. Otherwise, I really need to meal plan and go shop for this next week since that is a HUGE help during the weekdays. I'm just so lazy....

**TW** DS1 had a soccer game today. It was pouring down rain and I prayed for it to be cancelled....it wasnt. We got out there and they started to play. It was like the sky opened up and just started to pour about halfway through the game. They finally called it after the second quarter. We were all soaked, like through all of our clothes soaked. The kids thought it was great. At least it wasn't cold! **end TW**

@Sirius37 It's my dream to have a small homestead farm complete with mini cows (regular sized ones are too big I think). I told DH that when he gets deployed he won't have to worry about another man but he will have to worry about coming home to chickens and a cow haha. Maybe he'll just make sure we live downtown wherever we're stationed next so I can't get farm animals.

Last night we went on a double date to outback which was nice. Then DH made me a margarita and we played Diablo 3 till 1am. I haven't played a video game since I was like 7 but it was fun. If you're not a gamer but your SO is and you want to play together, I'd suggest it.

@slavenski omg are there mini cows??!! That would be precious!!! We have a big enough property currently that sometimes we talk about getting a goat but we'd need two because they get lonely and then a donkey because donkeys protect the farm

@rainbowturtles There are mini cows! There are different breeds, I'm thinking of a dexter cow because they're dual purpose (milk and meat). Mini cows range from like 36" to 48" at the shoulder or something like that. I feel a full sized cow would be too large for me to handle on my own. Plus mini cows need less land.

@MotherofDragons It's totally a personal issue. DH wanted to wait longer, but time isn't on our side. Here's how I see it. There is only 20% chance of getting pregnant each month and even less of a chance of getting Zika and even less of a chance of getting microcephaly. Just about every year over the past 5-10 years there's something - MRSA, swine flu, Ebola etc. You can wait forever or take a risk. Some of these things are more serious than others and some places are more likely to expose you. You just have to be comfortable with your decision. Good luck!

DH and I took our kitty to the vet for a check-up this morning. She's fine, just due for her shots. He's at work now so I'm cleaning the apartment a little and making dinner for one. Later I'll probably watch a little TV and read a little more of Taking Charge of Your Fertility (thanks for the recommend whoever that was!). Tomorrow, we're going to see "My Neighbor Totoro" (there's a screening at a local cinema), and we'll probably walk around the mall a little before going home and making dinner together. Typical date night for us. Not ovulating til next weekend but we can always practice

My husband is on a golf trip with his friends. I took the kids to a parade yesterday. I think I am going to take them to an apple orchard today on our way to a family party today. My oldest missed her preschool class field trip Friday because she was sick. There will be football to watch this evening too!

I'm having a Harry Potter Movie Marathon weekend while MH is off camping. I've put myself back on a low calorie diet, and yesterday was my cheat day. So even though today I want to finish a chocolate cake I made (one of those Duncan Hines Perfect Portions for 2-4 people), I can't because cheat day is over. I only had one piece last night and it will kill me inside a wee bit to throw away almost an entire mini cake. But I gotta do what I gotta do! It reminds me of that episode of Sex in the City where Miranda bakes a cake and keeps eating it, so she finally throws it in the trash. But she has to pour dish soap on it to keep herself from eating it out of the trash lol.

I'm baking fall things this weekend to take to school for the teachers- apple cinnamon nutmeg cookies, ginger bread cookies in shapes of woodland animals (porcupines, squirrels, snails, etc), spice layer cake with cream cheese frosting... But our water is off, so I can't clean up

I'm home from work today due to an infected biopsy site on my ankle. It is swollen, red, hot and painful. I couldn't bear weight on it last night and went to urgent care after work for an abx shot and pills. Hopefully it gets better quickly, makes me nervous!

Fairly low key weekend for us.

Saturday: Spent time with my best friend and her 7 month old baby. It was great to see her and hang out with her LO.

Sunday: Kind of slept in (our two dogs have their own internal clock and refuse to sleep past 8am). I have grad school work to finish today and DH has a baseball game this afternoon.

@swanbrooner I am just getting back into the community and lurking around, but i had to jump in on this one. My BMB from my son was Aug 2014 and ladyabigail was nutso! Our board never had a shortage of drama, that's for sure!!
