  • @LinziLoo09 while queen bey has had some misses in the last few years, I think she's on fire now. Some of the songs on lemonade are awesome but somehow not hitting the consumer market in the typical ways which I'm confused about. Prince-like.

  • While I acknowledge that she is a talented singer, Beyoncé does absolutely nothing for me. I could care less if I never heard another one of her songs again. I just don't care for her voice or style. It doesn't click in my head.
I totally agree. I'm over her.

  • @dmontgo The worst part about it is that they're not all that sanitary. Yikes! But I do like the way they make the skin on my hands look funny.

Also, I am of the same opinion on Queen Bey, @LinziLoo09! Very meh.

  • I've been into a number of daycare centers and the immobile babies room always is so sad. It just doesn't seem like the right place for the little ones. I hate that we don't have better maternity leave and many families are left with no other option. And it works and the babies are safe and mostly healthy... But it doesn't seem right to me. Those rooms make me sad.
We actually picked our daycare because the immobile baby room was cheerful and all the babies were up and out in bouncy chairs and boppies or on the mat.  We visited some where all but one child was in a crib (and some were clearly awake and in the crib) and we were like, no way.  However I do hate that daycare claim certain ratios of providers in a room and then tell you something else (we have 2 providers for 7 kids so our ratio is 3:1.  Sorry but 2 providers to 6 kids is actually 3:1.)

It def can be and it is so hard to leave them Regardless of the care. We loved the infant room for our son though - cribs could only be used when babies were sleeping, they had No Swings - babies were never left in mechanical comfort but had staff holding/rocking/bouncing them and the babes were always either being held or engaged on mats with peers. It was awesome :-)

At our daycare, they have very few infants, so the provider(s) is almost always on the floor playing with them on mats or rocking them. Every now and then they're in a bouncy chair, but they're never left in cribs except for specific nap times.

Yea I loved the infant room in the daycare facility we signed up with. I literally could stay there all day. Our room is 6 weeks - 1 year so some of the children are more mobile and the ratio is 4:1 which seems high but the two ladies in there were amazing. There was a six week baby in there and I was like, hmm, maybe we will start at six weeks hahaha. In reality I'm sure it will be really hard to leave her.

  • @linziloo09 and @leksiL - interesting. I live in a daycare desert - there is waaayyy more demand than supply. I've been by a few and babies are always wailing their heads off and providers look stressed out. I just want to run in and snuggle all the babies.

  • @sourlemon Which flavor did you choose?

My UO is a play on @R0824H 's.  I LOOOOVE pumpkin pie spice in everything! I do agree that some things should just not have that flavor, but I want all the desserts, baked goods, and coffee creamers!
  • @Fauxpa my hospital only has orange. And not refrigerated.

But I typically don't drink fluids cold (only sweet tea and milk) so I'm used to room temperature liquids.

I like the glucose drink. Liked it last pregnancy, liked it today. I wish they sold that stuff so I could drink it occasionally.
I wouldn't say I LIKED mine, but I didn't mind it too much. They gave me a "lemon lime" flavor, and it tasted like Sprite that had no carbonation, and twice as much syrup as it should. It was whatever.
  • @dmontgo I don't wash my hands when its just dryers, because I hate the fact that they don't dry my hands and I am just going to wipe my wet hands on my germy pants. I just use the hand sanitizer in my purse.
  • no, @DiFazette - you are right. @sourlemon that's totally crazy. I've been dreading drinking it so much that I am totally turned off of sugar completely right now. I was going to do jelly beans per midwife allowance but then I gave myself a sugar aversion so bad that having to chew jelly beans sounds worse than chugging a few oz.

+1 to being broken. The fruit punch is the worst for me, but the citrus and orange I could drink on the regular-as long as they are chilled. I also have a serious sweet tooth, and rarely indulge it fully because it's like eat an entire batch of cookies+chocolate milk+ cream cheese frosting on graham crackers; bad.

  • I'm on team glucola, it wasn't delicious but it really wasn't awful. The phlebotomist kept saying "isn't it gross?" while I was drinking it, but it just tasted like Gatorade to me.

Yeah I agree.  I wouldn't go out and buy it for a drink but I didn't think it was that bad.  I also thought it was like Gatorade or this juice stuff they used to give us at camp.
  • @PensiveCrayon as black as my cold heart. Just kidding, I use a little tiny bit of the Dunkin donuts creamer.  My husband does equal part creamer and coffee ratio, or that's how it tastes if I mistakenly take a sip of his.  It makes me shudder.

  • Ugh, how can you people like the glucola? I gagged on it, and that was with me drinking it with my nose plugged. If there is a Squish 2 I'm going to ask my doctor if there is another way. Blech!

Here's my UO - I don't mind if people touch my belly. By people I mean my close friends and family, and only if they ask permission first. At the football game we went to a few weeks back standing in line for concessions 2 of my girlfriends were trying to feel Squish kick, so it was hilarious to see them standing, hands on my belly, trying to convince Squish to give one good kick (which Squish declined). I think as long as I give my permission I have some control over the situation so that makes it okay. If some rando stranger were to, however, I'd flip.

  • @phoenix870509- I agree! Strangers no way, but family, friends, and fellow church members all have an open invitation to touch the bump. I am a hugger anyway so that is probaby why it doesn't bother me. To be honest though, no one has touched my belly even once! They just awkwardly hover over my bump and pretend to pat it, which makes what should be a tender moment weird. Just touch the belly!
  • Y'all and your love for black coffee, glucola, and pumpkin spice. I have to have flavored cream and sugar in my coffee, glucola is disgusting, and pumpkin spice is even worse.
  • I'm with @sourlemon on the drink. They gave me room temp orange and I finished it in under a minute. I hadn't had any coffee/water/food yet that morning and I found it actually refreshing. I don't drink pop and thought it was like an orange Fanta or Sunkist with less fizz & more sugar :D

Just like @slartybartfast I take my coffee black and strong 97% of the time. The other 3% it's a sugarlicious pumpkin spice latte.

I agree @phoenix870509 I thought I would really hate people touching my belly, but I don't mind it at all yet! Granted, I haven't had a stranger do it, I'm sure I'd dislike that. I wouldn't come up to you and touch your butt (or would I?) so don't do it to people ya don't know.  Family that has touched it (belly, not butt) have all been really careful to ask after they touch.. like "Sorry, is that okay?" And I'm all like yes puppy dog rub my belly and feed meeeee

  • Okay the orange drink is disgusting and all other opinions are invalid. It reminded me of children's liquid Motrin as far as consistency goes, way too syrupy. And I had it cold. That being said I finished it in under 2 minutes and felt fine after I drank it. Maybe a little light headed but no worse than standing up too fast after laying down for a while. I hope I pass because I would really hate having to do this again :(
  • I'm in the opposite camp of belly touching.  Unless you're DH, hands off, which includes family and friends.  Maybe I'll change my mind once I'm huge and you can feel baby kick without effort but right now, nope.  DH's parent's asked me a few weeks ago and I turned them down.  I was just starting to pop (finally) and they wouldn't have felt anything so I don't see a point.  The other day my mom came over and starting touching my belly out of nowhere and I backed away.  DH laughed.  She said she wanted to feel it kick but that's now how it works.

  • @ashleaf2018 I hope I pass too cuz I wouldn't want to do the 3 hour one with twice the sugar. 2 main reasons: the waiting room chairs are horrendous and the baby pretty much clawed her way out of my belly (alien style) with the 1 hour drink...she would probably succeed if I had double the sugar!
