Long story short, my husband is not on speaking terms with his parents. his PARENTS, not all his siblings. But you know what happens? His siblings decide to start posting on his facebook regarding this issue. One of them had the nerve post on our GENDER REVEAL! Like excuse me?

  • My cat peed on me this morning...the second time in the 5 years I've had her that she's done it and the first time was because she didn't like my former roommate's cat. No idea what made her decide to pop a squat on top of me and let it go this time, but she better be grateful I'm pregnant and can't give chase.

    Me: 33 DH: 38 Married: 1/10/15

1st Pregnancy EDD: 1/1/17 Born 1/10/17 Team Green turned Blue!

2nd Pregnancy EDD: 11/6/18 Born 11/09/18 Baby Boy!

    3rd Pregnancy EDD: 12/?/21

Children are like casseroles; it takes a lot to mess them up.

  • DH woke me up multiple times last night because "it felt like there was something in his eye".  I have a hard enough time falling asleep and staying asleep that I don't need him waking me up for childish reasons.

    BFP #1 1/19/09 EDD: 9/29/09 Caiden arrived 9/20/09
BFP #2 4/1/10 EDD: 12/7/10 Ethan surprised us on 11/19/10
    BFP # 3 EDD :10/24/12 Rylan was born 10/17/12
BFP #4 4/13/14 EDD:12/22/14  Nolan made his entrance on 12/15/2014
    BFP#5 5/22/17 EDD:1/27/17  It's a GIRL!!!!

  • DH woke LO up at 5AM while he was getting ready for work. Thank goodness he knew better than to ask me to get her back down... if you're too loud (which he was; we live in a creaky house but still, he could've been way quieter), then getting her back to sleep is all on you, buddy.

  • I know that this was for Monday, but this happened at midnight last night while I was sleeping.  I woke up coughing and then had this gross bile taste in my mouth and discovered it was acid reflex.  Luckily, I took some Tums and drank some water and fell back asleep within the hour.  I guess it might have been because I didn't listen to my hubby who said to me about a half hour before we went to bed, isn't it kind of late to eat that pumpkin gingersnap ice cream?  I told him to can it.  I guess I should have listened...but now I'm drinking a tall pumpkin spiced iced chai latte, which I've never had before, and I'm feeling the heartburn and I'm burping...and I've only had a few sips of it!  I pray that it is not my love for pumpkin...maybe its the extra spices with the chai and last night ginger snap. Fingers crossed because I am pumpkin and apple obsessed right now :-P

  • I just had the scariest thing EVER happen.  DH is at a pub quiz with his coworkers so I'm having a quiet night in on my lonesome.  I was sitting on my sofa, eating pasta when someone started BANGING on my windows.  I got up to look (maybe not the best idea) and there was a strange man outside in the darkness asking (in a not happy way) for Mike.  Once he saw me he realized he had the wrong house and left.

Things to note: We're the basement flat, so you have to go down a staircase to bang on our windows.  Also, there's a front door, with a buzzer, which is probably the more appropriate way to alert someone to your presence.  Three- who bangs on someone's windows at night?!!?

Needless to say I'm making DH come home now.  And I will obviously be calling the cops if I hear any more banging. Not what I needed on my Tuesday night!!!! #cityliving

  • @Jos726 I get heartburn/acid reflux at night regardless of what I eat so hopefully your love of all things pumpkin is safe! Towards the end, even water gave me heartburn.

  • I'm hosting a friend's baby shower with an estimated headcount of almost 70 people.  Only TWO have RSVP'd and it's less than 2 weeks away.

I may be losing my cool a little.

  • @karaelaine1991 here I've found most parents like to dump there kids in a kid area and then be on their phone instead of watching them.  I see the saddest kids.  I remember one toddler girl standing in the middle of a pile of toys and silently watching her mom sit on a yoga ball and be on her phone - the little girl looked so hollow and empty while the mom was laughing at something on her screen.  Then one at a playground, a girl sitting on top of the slide, pleading with her dad to play with her and he just directed her to play on the playground while he used the the playground to exercise with chin ups and push-ups - she lit up at just me acknowledging her when I gently reminded her that other kids wanted to use the slide too (there was a line of kids, the dad didn't care).  Then there are the parents that go there to socialize with other adults and treat there kids like a nuisance when they want to play with them.  Then there are the parents whose kids can do no wrong - their angels couldn't possibly shove, hit or spit with other kids, they must have been provoked!  Some places, where the kids are supervised, they stare at my son, who wants to play, like they are going to pull and shiv out -- and shrink at any kind of potential contact with a smiling and drooling toddler who says, "hi," and is concerned for those who fall or get hurt and rush to their side to say, "okay??"  Then there are kids who are too big for the play areas and knock down any little kids without so much as a glance as they barrel through the place while playing tag...

for all these people, I have become the hover parent and am proud of it.  I'll play and spend time with my kid at the playground or field house because it's fun, I want him to know I like playing with him and spending fun time with him and I want to make sure he doesn't learn other kids' bad habits before he fully understands things.  When he is old enough, I'll back off a bit and make sure he treats people nicely.

  • Uh!  That reminds me of when I was in an essential oil class and was telling the lady that I was looking for oils to help with postpartum depression.  She was fully round pregnant and my husband shared that I had a really tough pregnancy and wanted to know about what she'd recommend for future pregnancies as well.  She decided to cut him off and loudly proclaim to the whole room that people always get mad when she tells them that she's been pregnant 4 times and has never had any symptoms or morning sickness... I gave her eye daggers (because my husband just told her I lost 40 pounds and was puking right up to birth and still couldn't eat normally) but just told her I was jealous.  Some people just know what buttons to push.  If thoughts could kill.

These types of people are the only people that I'm hateful toward about not being sick. Why would anyone think it's appropriate to brag about how wonderful you feel when someone tells you they've lost a ton of weight, are throwing up every day and just feel awful?

  • Okay, so I'm pregnant with twins. My morning sickness has been life altering. I got fired from my sales job because I vomited so much.
Today, at the WIC office for food voucher because of losing said job, I was guilt tripped about losing 25 pounds since the beginning of my pregnancy. "Ma'am, you are carrying two babies so we need you to see a dietician".
First off, I know way more about nutrition than anyone in this office. Secondly, vomiting all day every day is not exactly how I hoped my second pregnancy would go. Nor is requiring government assistance because no one wants to hire a lady pregnant with twins
I'm grateful for the assistance and for a loving, incredible husband who has been my rock through everything. I'm really excited about my little identical girls:). But holy crap I feel useless and talked down to. Meh.

::hugs:: @AppalachiaVaudeville, I'm so sorry!! I hope you'll stick around and join our random multiples checkins, I'm also having ID girls, and we have a couple of other modi and didi moms on this board!

ETA I still have really rough morning sickness, I lost a lot of weight at first and am gaining very slowly now. I can commiserate big time!
  • Bitching on a Thursday- the hospital has apparently decided to double bill me for a procedure I had relating to our IF testing in 2014. The admin of the satellite office I was at today was checking me in and she's like "your account has an $800 balance" "ok well I haven't seen that bill yet so I'll just wait to see the bill and talk to insurance" so she starts arguing with me that no it's old, it must've gone to collections (uh then I won't be paying you either way, I'll pay the imaginary collections agency liarpants), and I'm like really?? Can we not do this right now?? So then she gets main hospital billing on the phone and calls me over to talk to them. I asked the chick on the phone to send me an account summary and since when does my account balance have to be $0 in order to proceed with a scheduled prenatal test??

Oh it doesn't, this admin just thought it'd be an awesome idea to dick me around at 8:30am for 40 minutes, while I'm nauseated and fasting and not allowed to even drink more than sips of water, delaying the whole test by 50 minutes and making me an hour later for work in the end. FFFFFF UUUUUUU

(for the record I was there for THREE more hours and the witch did not even look at me once after I told her I need to just start the test now, this is ridiculous.)
  • @TinaBelcher Well that sounds awful. I'm sorry! And to have to delay that awful test... what a bitchface! I hope the test went okay otherwise, and that you aren't feeling too awful.

  • @TinaBelcher maybe the universe will make it up to you by making sure you passed the glucose test!

@AppalachiaVaudeville I can empathize with you!  I lost 40 pounds last pregnancy but with a singleton.  I lost so much fat and muscle and was so weak by the time I started keeping food down but was trying to resume life normally by shopping and sitting on those motor scooters shopping carts because I would feel faint and really tired before getting my errands done. One mom who recently had identical twins actually scoffed and sneered at me and said, "Oh my God.  I had twins and I was able to walk normally."  her husband, my husband's employee, quickly whisked her away to put her in check so I didn't need to reply -- our faces were reply enough.

many people just don't get it.  I found it best to get snarky and put these people in their place with some in your face education.  Like:

If you think I'm purposely losing weight or haven't spoken to the necessary professionals on how to get better, you're wrong - no person wishes morning sickness to last this long or be this bad.  I'm being closely monitored, am taking all the precautions necessary, have tried all the old waives tales and motherly advice given by every know it all I've encountered, tried all the prescriptions my doctor deemed safe for pregnancy and am coping as best as I can.  Morning sickness isn't the same for everyone and can completely different with each pregnancy but fortunately for you and the masses, this severity of morning sickness is so rare that not many have experience with it.  Thanks for your concern though.

people were usually scared of me by the time I was done and apologizing.  They either thought I was hormonal, fed up with people giving stupid advice or just trying to help them understand that their "help" was just pissing me off.  Either way they took it, I didn't f-ing care.  I said the same thing to the grandma at church to the stupid passerby who dared comment.

    ETA
When I saw the nutrition person, I puked several times just because talking about food, seeing her pamphlets and pictures made me sick.  It's not like I don't know proper nutrition, having that knowledge doesn't mean a damn thing if just the sight of smell of food makes you puke what you managed to keep down in the first place.

  • I have to bitch on a Friday because the grocery store still hasn't gotten any stock of pumpkin spice bagels. I wait all year for these people! It's PSL season. Bring out the bagels. Jerks.

I thought of you the other day! Have you tried the brown sugar and cinnamon Philly cream cheese on your pumpkin bagels? Life changing! I had a pumpkin bagel from a local bakery, that cream cheese with a decaf PSL venti (hence the decaf) the other day. My husband literally asked if my pumpkin craving was satisfied and I said, "never!" Lol Talk to the manager and totally use the pregnancy craving to get yourself some! If it's like my Kroger they'll keep some back for you at the desk! Lol
