How far along are you? 7 weeks! Although I think this may change after the next ultrasound...that's based off LMP but my cycle was long so I might be a bit behind...
How big is baby? According to my ticker, it's the size of a tic tac! I think also a blueberry...
Upcoming appointments this week? None. First transvaginal ultrasound is not until the 27th...can't get here soon enough!
Any new symptoms or changes? The past two days I've had some serious nausea in the morning.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My mother in law has been staying with us all week (just left today, YIPPEE!) and has been driving me NUTS with pregnancy questions. This isn't my first rodeo...I understand the first trimester isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but I don't really want to talk about it all night every night...
GTKY: What are your hobbies/favorite time passers? Before kiddo #1, I liked to knit a lot but I've kind of stopped. I'm hoping to pick that back up this fall/winter. In fact, I had a lot of hobbies pre-DS that have kind of disappeared--going to concerts, live theater, checking out new restaurants, drinking delicious and STRONG craft cocktails, hanging out with friends...we still do all of those things just far less often. Now it's a lot of Netflix and hanging with the little man doing kid friendly activities.
How big is baby? Oh I don't know, small! I remember with #1 I had my first ultrasound at this time and he was a little grain of rice, but luckily with a pixel lighting on and off, which was the heartbeat!
Upcoming appointments this week? I have an information seminar with the midwife practice I'm leaning towards choosing on week from today. But they said on the phone they wouldn't do the first appointment until 8-10 weeks so I'm going to be waiting a while. That also means no blood draws or anything until then. Maybe when they find I'm "advanced maternal age" they'll speed things up.
Any new symptoms or changes? I'm tired, but a bit less nauseated than I expected, so now I'm flipping my prediction from girl to boy. (I was definitely more nauseated with DD than with DS, and that goes with general consensus on morning sickness and gender and old wives tales.) This one I haven't heard about vis-a-vis gender, but another difference in my pregnancies was that I was emotional for #1 but less so than for #2. So far there is a hint of maybe it being like #1, which is another tip toward boy. I will be analyzing and predicting throughout the pregnancy as we are team green. In terms of other symptoms, I have a heightened sense of smell but it's not that overwhelming. I have weird blood flow feelings when I exert myself even slightly (like going upstairs), which I had experienced with previous pregnancies. I have sore boobs but not that sore and that's something I've heard diminishes with successive pregnancies (it did for me from 1 to 2).
Rants/Raves/Questions? Just eager to get a move on through first tri so that I can have more certainty, I can start telling people, and I can feel better, though as of now I don't feel so bad (so of course that is worrisome, too, haha!)
GTKY: What are your hobbies/favorite time passers?
I dance, somewhat professionally. I am a little concerned about how the pregnancy will impact our next performance in December. Normally it would be fine but I have this hip separation condition I get with pregnancy and could already feel it at the last rehearsal. As long as it doesn't get too out of hand, though, I'll be able to perform.
Upcoming appointments this week? I have my first ultrasound tomorrow! We dealt with secondary infertility this time around (no troubles conceiving DD) and have been working with an RE to get pregnant, so I'm being monitored closely.
Any new symptoms or changes? I have all day nausea again and super nose, just like I did with DD. It lasted for 7 months with her, so I'm afraid that might happen again this time. It also makes me wonder if it means I'm having another girl. We'll see!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing really
GTKY: What are your hobbies/favorite time passers? Running was my favorite hobby, but now I've just been walking because we're being super cautious. I also love hiking and camping. We have a small camper and try to camp once a month from spring through fall!
DH: 34/Me: 35 Married: Feb 2008 DD: June 2011 TTC# 2: April 2014 BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
I have a question. My LMP was 8/5 which was a Friday, so I've been counting Thursdays as my new weeks. TB has been counting my new weeks as Saturdays because I'm due on a Saturday (5/13). I got that date from online calculators that adjust for my cycle length (29) and my doctor agreed with it based on a paper calculating tool she uses. My question is, does each week of pregnancy count up from my period (making today 6 weeks and my due date technically 40+2) or does it count down from my due date being an even 40 weeks (making me only 5+5 today and kind of ignoring my LMP start date)? I just don't know which ticker change day to join. Thanks
Upcoming appointments this week? None. I have my first appointment with ultrasound on the 26th. I cannot wait
Any new symptoms or changes? The last two days have been terrible in terms of symptoms. Tons of nausea and extremely tired. I'm having a hard time to eat at night. I've been discovering this pregnancy thing one day at a time since it's our first pregnancy.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing
GTKY: What are your hobbies/favorite time passers? I love reading and zumba. I try to go 2-3 times a week, but seems I don't have as much energy as before. My new hobbies are napping and watching movies
tumbleweed , that's an interesting question! I believe the ticker changes are based on your due date. So this group would be EDDs of 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25. And I believe you would count backwards from that to find your current week's pregnant. So I, for example, am due on 5/4, which is 33 weeks from today, making me 7 week's pregnant. So, counting back from your EDD of 5/13, you will be 6 weeks this Saturday. :-)
Upcoming appointments this week? Not this week, unfortunately. First appointment is September 26th. Can't get here fast enough.
Any new symptoms or changes?
Still very exhausted. I take atleast one nap a day. I'm also not sleeping well at night. It could be my small bladder dog that always wants to go outside at 3am.
GTKY: I watch a lot of movies and read a lot of books. So going to the library is a weekly adventure for DS2 and I. Looking forward to fall TV shows!!!!!
Ok, maybe I've misunderstood. I thought that whichever day your ticket updated was the time to check in? Mine updated to 6 weeks today, but my due date is 5/12, which isn't in line with what's been listed in the original post.
ETA: Nevermind. I understand what happened. I've been using the calculator based upon my actual ovulation date to figure out my due date so far, which makes it 5/12. If I used the date of my LMP, it would be 5/11.

march2008 , Yeah, it gets a little blurry when you ovulate later than your LMP because most tickers are built off of your LMP assuming you ovulated and were impregnated according to a typical cycle. I'm pretty sure after I have my ultrasound on the 27th that my due date will change (and be later) because I believe I ovulated/conceived later than normal due to my longer cycles. That said, I'm sure no on will mind if you hang out on the Thursday ticker change, though. :-)
@Kipperoo, Thanks! I'll wait for Saturday's group. For some reason I feel like that added two more days to being pregnant though. It's all in my head I guess.

My LMP was 8/4 and the calculators said 5/11 was my EDD (using the 28-day cycle, which is probably pretty accurate for me), and my ticker change day is Thursday. So using that method I'd say you'd be Friday. But maybe I belong on Wednesday! haha
The most standard way of doing EDDs is to calculate from LMP and assume ovulation on the 14th day of the cycle for a total of a 38 week pregnancy, but that counts from the LMP, which is 2 weeks before ovulation, which is where the 40 weeks comes from.
The most accurate way of doing EDDs is to know when you ovulate and calculate 38 weeks from that point. If you have a long cycle, you probably ovulated very late into the cycle. The luteal phase, which is the time from ovulation to your next period, usually varies less from woman to woman and cycle to cycle than the follicular phase, which is the time from your period to ovulation. The luteal phase is always 10-16 days, but the follicular stage can be like 40 days! I used to have 40-50 day cycles and that's just how it was. TTC took a bit longer for #1 because of it.
If you adjust based on an estimated ovulation date of 15 days in, I'd probably say your due date is Saturday, which would be your ticker change date as well.
