No direct experience here either, but I just wanted to congratulate you on the birth of your daughter. I'll be keeping you both (as well as your family) in my thoughts and prayers as you navigate her NICU stay.
I don't mind the tag at all @DiFazette ! Congrats on your little one but also many many hugs. My son was a 28w 5d preemie. He was IUGR due to my severe pre-eclampsia. We spent 4 months in the NICU. It was a long road with many ups and downs but he is flourishing today at 4 years old with very minor medical issues. The staff became our family and support system (we had no family nearby) they are truly miracle workers. A great resource would be Graham's Foundation. They offer many great articles, support forums and even a free care package to be sent to the NICU. How is your baby doing? How are you doing?
Thanks all for your warm thoughts and prayers. I am doing ok, healing from my c-section and in the midst of an emotional roller coaster. One day I'm up and one day I'm down. My daughter (hard for me to say out loud) Harper Raegan is doing well. She is breathing on her own and no medical issues thus far. We have about 2-3 months in the NICU until she is bigger. I pray every day she will be ok. I love to hear from any preemie moms - feel free to contact me. I love to hear stories of preemies that are older and doing so well now too. Be thankful for everything you have in life.
@ShariAllison so glad to hear the good news about Harper! Each day you get closer to the finish line and taking your precious little girl home. Hopefully it will go by fast!

@ShariAllison Congratulations! I am lurking from January 2017. I don't have experience with a premie but my DS was in the nicu for a week after birth. Does not compare to your story but one thing that I learned was to reach out for help when needed and that it's ok to have (several) breakdowns when you are overwhelmed. Everyone was so very supportive while we were there. I have a few friends that had babies at 30 weeks and they are doing fantastic now 7 and 5 years old). Ask if they have any local support groups for nicu moms. Our nicu that we were in had a weekly or monthly get together for parents. I didn't attend but a few of the moms of longer stay babies did and really said it was good. I'm so glad Harper is doing well, prayers for both of you!
Re: 28 week old preemie
Also, there is a momma on the November board who have birth at ~ 29 weeks. She may be a good resource? Her birth announcement is here: https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12689005/november-2016-birth-announcements#latest
