Yeah I had to start liners when I got sick. After coughing for 2 weeks I had no chance at avoiding it. Little did I know I'd keep coughing another 3 weeks! Now the cough is gone and wouldn't you know it, the sneezing starts again. Just can't win. Thank goodness for liners!
I apparently will be needing to join the Liner Club as well...
A couple of nights ago I woke up and my crotch was so wet that I was worried I had peed myself or my water had broke. I went into the bathroom to discover that my butt/lady part area is just super duper sweaty. Like I'm changing underwear at least once a day due to sweat. I remember this from last time too. Ew.

+1, I'm pretty sure my crotch is seriously contributing to global warming.

OMG same here! I don't think I've ever sweated so much down there. It's so gross. I've been wearing liners since maybe 8 or 9 weeks because the discharge was wreaking havoc on my panties. But the sweat is unreal now! No one told me there would be this much sweat! Why does no one mention this stuff!?

+1 To soggy crotch. I remember a pregnant Jessica Simpson saying one time that things had gotten "swampy" and unpregnant me was like, "What?" Now I understand. I completely understand.
I also judged Kim Kardashian flying her pregnant self to New Orleans one time just to eat. I totally get it now. If I had her money I would have flown myself to more expensive places than that to eat by now.
My beef with life right now are waist bands (or really elastic bands of any kind). I don't want to be naked, per se (that would be dangerous and gross anyway with all the snissing and swamp crotch) but I also really want waistbands to stop touching me. There is no place on my tummy where I want them to be. The other night I was sitting on the couch and I was feeling super anxious for no apparent reason. Eventually I figured out that it was my shorts with their maternity panel. I took them off and threw them in the floor and was a woman liberated. What is the solution, I don't know. I just need all the clothes to get off me, but I also don't wanna be naked. Mu-mus?
My alarm spooked bubba this morning. I normally keep the volume on my phone alarm pretty low but had it up this weekend when I was expecting a call and forgot to turn it back down. So 6:30 is starts blaring. I jump. Bubba starts rolling and punching and flailing. Sorry dude. Guess we're both awake now =\
@Austenista - Swamp crotch is SO a thing...and it is my new favorite pregnancy phrase. I haven't had so many issues with pants waist bands because I'm wearing a lot of maxi skirts and palazzo pants that barely touch my waist. But my bras have been killing me. We now have bras just strewn around our house because I'll take them off in a fit of internal claustrophobia. I just feel so full of organs that I can't stand any extra pressure on my rib cage. I don't have much boobage, so there aren't really resulting issues there. But my belly is so high that it will hit the bottom of my boobs. And I am finding that belly on boob touching is really annoying to me. So it's one issue or another. I will never be free from discomfort again!
@LinziLoo09 even my underwear bands are bugging me. I'm currently obsessed with the pairs I hated prepregnancy that have almost no elastic. The have like a lacy stretch thing instead. The regular ones can go straight to hell right now.
While reading your response I reached up and removed my bra. I remove mine everywhere too. Even going down the road. Off it goes. Nothing is allowed to squeeze me right now, and if it is, there's an expiration date because there's only so much I can take. Those maternity support belts that are probably amazing and good for you? They look like torture devices. I can just feel them touching me and I'm like, nope.
Omg @LinziLoo09 - yes to my boobs resting on my belly! It's so wierd and annoying. Even pregnant I'm barely an A cup. It's odd that they can reach anything. Sometimes at work, even with a bra on, I'll be sitting in a certain position and wonder if other ppl can notice.
Eaton isn't moving as much today as he has been the past couple of days and it's making me a little insane. He is moving some just far less frequently and not as forcefully. I need to calm down right? It's nothing?

He's probably just changed positions. You can drink something cold/sugary and lay on your left side to see if he moves, or even try putting something cold on your belly. Rhett moves the most if I have something sitting on my belly, sometimes he'll move more if I'm on my side and sometimes he won't. He's a very chill baby in general though.
@ashleaf2018 I drank some cold water and played something loud earlier to get him to move, which he did, but since then it's back to very little movement.
@Austenista Whenever I've noticed periods of less movement, I've woken up in the morning feeling like I grew overnight. It seem like when he's going through a growth spurt he chills a little.
My OB also told me movement isn't super regular until 28-30 weeks. She said if I noticed anything really alarmingly different to contact her, but that more/less movement at different times is still normal.
@tinattt23 I'm the same way with less movement = belly growth spurt. I've also found my exhaustion level is linked to it an increase in growth as well.
Random rant: I just bought a jacket and a coat that I'll only wear for two and a half months. None of my recently pregnant friends had coats they could hand down to me. After this, assuming we stick to the plan of only having one kid, I need to figure out how to consign these clothes so I can make some of my money back!

You're responsible - I plan on being cold if the weather turns drastically before I deliver. We have a good bit of 50 degree days in November (and I won't go past that so here's to hoping). Most maternity coats won't fit twin bellies anyway so I'm gonna layer it up!
@gowenc I've had a bit of luck consigning with thredUp.com for what it's worth... I've been selling my pre-pregnancy clothes that were already too tight and I'll probably never wear again (wahh!!) and using the store credit to buy their maternity stuff. After I'm done making babies, I'll probably do the opposite and sell all my maternity stuff and buy normal clothes again.
@kbduke I go to the chiropractor and I'm very glad I do. Helps keep my hips and back aligned, and keeps me from getting migraines. Although there are some days when Ashton triggers my sciatica and it sucks bawlz, most of the time I'm not in pain when I walk because I go to the chiropractor. I've been going for a long time and it helps me in ways regular doctors don't. Just my experience.
@kbduke Another vote for chiro. I am overdue and can tell, though I DO have a prenatal massage scheduled there this week. Just make sure your place of choosing has chiros that are either specialized in prenatal care OR have routine patients who are pregnant. Don't just go any ol' place and assume they know how to adjust you! Good luck!
@kbduke I also chime in on yes to the chiropractor. It helps with my lower back and hip pain. My midwife says there are articles that support the fact that staying aligned and whatnot can help shorten labor. I'm all for any help I can get! I always feel relaxed after my appointments and for me personally it's just $15 per session with insurance. I recommend looking into it!
I plan on just not buttoning my winter coat and using a lot of scarves/hats. If I continue on the path I'm currently on, I'll be so warm all the time I won't even want a coat.
update: Eaton's still not being very active. He's moved some here and there but it's not as much as I would like. I can't decide if I'm highly alert because I'm worrying about it or if I need to be concerned. Called my OB to talk to a nurse around 1 and she called me back after the office was closed at 5 and left me a VM saying if I wanted I could go over to L&D and let them check things out. Makes me wonder if I'm overreacting or not. Still not sure what to do. Part of me wants to wait it out and just see if he's having an inactive day, but another thought in my head is what if something's wrong and they could help me out? I don't know. Got a small, subtle kick as I was typing this. Still unsure.
@Austenista - if you're really worried than just go. They will check on baby and if he's fine you'll feel better. I have read that if baby is not ok they may deliver emergently. There are certain situations where baby is better out than in (like if your placenta isn't working correctly).
@Austenista I second what @tinattt23 mentioned--they move less on days they experience substantial growth or milestones. Like I think for week 26, they are practicing breathing and such. Some days Ashton won't move very much, but then he goes back to it. Since I've started my medication Ashton doesn't move as much (it makes us sleepy)--but he moves enough for me to know he is ok.
That being said, if you feel in your gut something is wrong, go see a doctor. Better to be safe than sorry, but I'm sure everything is fine.
@penelope4612@dmontgo So DH just marched me down the hall to lay down and he put his face to my tummy and chatted up Mr. Eaton. Now he's SO active and kicking. I don't know why DH has the magic touch but this boy is already enamored with him. He can get him to move when nothing else works. I even looked up an airhorn and played the sound on youtube earlier and Eaton ignored me like the jerk I was. Ice water didn't work earlier either.
I'm now thinking Eaton has shifted. All weekend I was having stomach jumping kicks and today I've had none of those on top of him being so chill today. I've only felt him low today, like between my hipbones, and the kicks/movement I've felt is more near my bladder/cervix. Someone else said he might be facing backward or moved his feet back toward the bottom? I don't know. It has freaked me out to not get those strong kicks I've enjoyed all weekend. This is why DH is a lifesaver, because Eaton will wake up and kick for him. They might be best friends already.
@Austenista - glad he's moving more. I think as the babies get bigger we will start to feel more shifting and less bumping around bc they start to run out of room as well.
Oh yeah--I've wanted to mention something cool going on at Motherhood Maternity. For $2 at check-out you get 3-4 parenting and cooking magazines a month for 3 years, like Parents, Family Circle, etc. It takes about a month for it to kick in, but I have honestly learned a lot reading the magazines, especially about organization and juggling dinner with kids. There's a lot of good tips and recipes I've seen. I normally do not buy subscriptions to magazines, but these have honestly been helpful for a FTM.
@Austenista glad to hear Eaton is moving around. Squish constantly moves, and now my whole chest/belly area moves with along with Squish. But as soon as daddy's hand goes on my belly (or anyone else's hand for that matter) Squish becomes shy. It's so aggravating because no one believes how much this kid moves! But now you can see my belly moving so I guess they'll have to believe me.

@phoenix870509 Yes! I always tell people he get performance anxiety. He moves tons until there's a hand on him. Then as soon as the hand is gone he'll start up again. Same with looking at him. I know my stomach moves on the outside because I've caught it a few times. But I haven't been able to show anyone because he stops when you stare.
Glad He is moving around more! It's scary when they are still for a bit. Lucas gets all crazy active when he hears DH. But as soon as he hears my older DD near him, it's like he's playing a game and refuses to move for her. And she is the one always trying to feel his kicks! It's so funny, he'll be all over the place, hears her, stops. She leaves, he starts up again!
@LandJ13 I'm not sure if we got DD covered for dental and vision, but she certainly hasn't used any of it in almost 2 years. Her teeth came in a bit early, but some babies don't have any or many teeth until a year old. That said, outside of brushing them, they don't generally need any additional care in the first year as far as I know.
DD seems to have good vision according to the pediatrician, so we haven't needed that. However, I do have friends whose babies have needed glasses early on. It's kind of hard to predict.
If you're scoping out pediatricians right now, this might be a good question for them. They probably manage a lot of that care early on, so you may not need that additional coverage for a year or two.
And regarding winter coats - I squeezed my fat stomach into my largest coat for as long as I could and then just let it go unbuttoned. Fortunately between the south's mild Decembers and my pregnant hot flashes, I just really enjoyed the cool weather and didn't have a need to bundle up at all.

I'll add that there is advice out there to take 1 year olds to their first dental appointment. My friend's mom is a dentist and says don't bother. There's nothing to do for baby teeth - unless something seems out of the ordinary. In fact, babies often chip teeth while toddling out of control and often the chips are just left. We started brushing DS's teeth in the bath a few months ago. This is to get him used to it as a thing though. Vision is one of those things that's also if you notice something out of the ordinary, take them immediately. I saw a poor little guy trying to learn to walk. He had on big thick glasses but there were so clearly the wrong prescription because it was very obvious he was having depth perception issues. I could tell the mother was frustrated with her kid not walking. I just wanted to be like "the poor little guy can't see!!!"
@slartybartfast@LandJ13 I was a clinic manager at a large dental office - my owning doc was an awesome dentist and said there is no real reason to bring kids to the dentist before 3-4 unless there's a problem. Vision gets tested by the ped at regular intervals at well visits - though if they find a problem I'm sure you'd want the insurance for a specialist. We don't have vision for DS, by children are often covered differently - our plan actually covers two dental visits per year for DS as a prophylactic (that's my health insurance plan). It may cover vision services for him too, but I've never looked. Check your plan to be sure.
My vision plan is essentially useless unless I need a new prescription - it pays for 1 eye exam a year and then $100 for contacts or glasses. My health insurance plan covers any type of eye "problem", which includes routine eye exams and anything else that might be wrong with your eye ( for example, I have dry eye so my appointments for that go through my health insurance, not my vision insurance). So I agree with above, check what your health insurance and vision insurance cover before getting vision insurance.
Thanks everyone! Vision is cheap as can be so might cover baby anyways for that for 2017. Dental is a bit more costly so might skip that for year 1, on the off chance he will need a dentist it'll probably be cheaper to pay out of pocket then to cover the entire year.
Now to to figure out how to budget the doubled medical deductible, My husband and I currently insure sepetately under our individual employers, so my deductible is based as single. My employer contributes a portion of the deductible and I pre tax contribute the remainder directly out of my paycheck. It will more than double when I add baby so I need to increase my contributions.
@penelope4612 a lot of eye doctors try to bill exclusively as medical because they can get more money. I always ask they bill my vision plan because with the medical high deductible it's better for me that way. Sneaky doctors.
