Perry Brooks was born 9/1 at 7:50 pm, weighing in at 7lbs 3oz and 20 inches long. We had a scheduled induction, but I wasn't progressing past 5 cm dilated so we ended up having a c section. He is the most precious little boy- we are over the moon in love!
Xavier Maxwell born 9/1/16 at 1:11 weighing in at 5lbs 7.8oz and 19in long. he was 36w4d. We were not expecting him this early at all considering it is our first child. Water broke spontaneously at home at 6:50pm 8/31/16 then had him not even 7 hours later. We couldn't be happier. We are all doing well and he is a breastfeeding champ.
Sophia Grace was born August 27th at 11:29pm weighing 9lbs9oz at 19.5 inches long. I went in Friday the 26th at 8pm to be induced but after starting to push at 8:30 pm on Saturday and pushing for a couple of hours and realizing baby couldn't fit, I had to have a c section. Not what we hoped for but she is well worth it. I couldn't be happier as a mommy of 2 now
William Robert was born on Friday 9.2.2016 at 16:38 via c section. NST that day showed he would benefit from joining the family at 38w6d and we couldnt be happier! At 9lbs 15.5oz and 20", we are thankful he is healthy and adjusting to life outside of the diabetic womb. He is breastfeeding like a champ and loves snuggles. Today we should be able to go home and enjoy being a family!
Hannah James came a little earlier than expected on Aug 31/16 weighing in at 6 lbs 4 oz. She required a little assistance at the end due to some distress but we are both doing great and my husband and I are simply smitten!
Grant made his appearance at 36 weeks on August 26th and is perfectly healthy. Doctors decided to deliver early due to preeclampsia and severe polyhydramnios. I'm so in love with this little guy!
Jude Arlen surprised us by coming 11 days early -- on Labor Day! He was born at 10:09 AM, 7 lbs 3 oz, after 12 hours of labor. I made it to 9 cm before I caved & asked for an epidural. Best decision. I was able to rest before pushing & he was out in just three pushes. He is perfect & we love him!
Nora Elisabeth joined us on labor day, 9/05 after a short, 4 hour induction. She was 39+0 and weighed 9lbs 8oz, 20 1/4". I came in at 4 cm dilation, had a pitocin drip until I was 5 at which point the dr broke my water. After my water was broken I labored for 1 hr 40 min and pushed her out in 4 minutes! I got to go med-free again (except pitocin) which I am so, so grateful for and I had minimal tearing. Recovery is already so much easier than last time.
Nora is doing great but is having some issues keeping her blood sugar up due to her size, so we have to supplement for now. I know it's short term but the PP hormones are real and I'm having a bit of a hard time with it. Overall we are just so in love and big brother is absolutely smitten as well!!
Elliot Samwise was born on 9/6 at 2:13 via c section due to being breech. Turns out I have a bicornate uterus which is why he didn't flip. He weighed in at 8lbs1oz and measures 20 inches. So far we are off to a great nursing start.
Pippa Jean was born at 9:38 AM on 9/5. Weighing 6lb 7oz and 19 inches long. We are so happy and she is perfectly healthy. Nursing like a champ and cluster feeding for the past 12 hours. Nipples feel like they are going to fall off but she's a happy camper
Hannah Jean Hunter was born this morning at 7:02 via a C-section after laboring for 24+ hours. My water had been broken for a long long time so the doctors wanted her out! We were team green and SO shocked when they told us "it's a girl!" That we had to ask them to repeat it twice..haha
Elias Parker made his grand entrance on 9/7 at 7:29am. 9 lbs 2 oz and 21 3/4 in long, and head full of beautiful blonde hair!
We we had a doctors appt that day and set out induction date for today. He decided he wanted to come a little earlier. Contractions started at 11:30pm 9/6 and I was 6 cm when I got to the hospital at 1am!

It's big baby week! Andrew Wyatt joined us 9/8 on my birthday after an induction which was going great but ended in an emergency c section when he wasn't tolerating the contractions. He's 9lbs 1oz and 22in and has a head full of blonde hair just like his daddy. We are over the moon!
Ezra Timothy born on his due date, September 2nd, just like his big brother was born on his five years ago. Went into labor around 8, headed to the hospital around 11 and was about 3 centimeters at that point. Two hours later I was just at a four so I asked for an epidural thinking it was going to be a long night. Well the epidural didn't make it, because an hour later I was fully dilated and four pushes later he was born. 8lbs 3oz and 21.5 inches long
Baby Luciano is here, He was born at 10:12 pm on September 3rd, 7 pounds 16 ounces and 19.6 inches
I went to my 40 week appointment on September 1st and the ultrasound showed I had low fluids so they decided to induce me. I was admired to the hospital at 4 pm and we waited until 4 am for a room, so no sleep at all there... the doctor came in at 6 am to check my cervix and it was high and closed so he put in some gel, they came back 8 hours later to check and still closed but soft this time and low, so another dose of gel. Next time the doctor came in a 2 am on September 3rd and could finally insert the foley catheter, which triggered some pretty bad contractions and so they gave me morphine, and I finally got some sleep (had not slept at all since being admitted) at about 2 pm the Foley fell out and they started me on drugs to start contractions and I asked for an epidural, took them about an hour to get to me and then the resident who was putting in my epidural was having a really hard time...1 hour and a half later they had to call in the attending to do it, took her much less time thank god. I honestly don't even remember when I started pushing or how long I pushed, he needed to be assisted with the vacuum but he came out!
35 years old, TTC #1 Dec 28, 2011 PCOS, Hypothyroidism.

Luciano Alessandro Maximiliano was born on September 3rd 2016
Lauren arrived on 9/8 at 530am. 6#13oz at 38 +4. Team green turned pink! I forced my husband into some sex, and then we had to google whether post vasectomy sex even had prostaglandins in them to soften the cervix, since he had a vasectomy about 5 months ago. Google said yes. Went to bed and woke up at 1am with a giant gush of fluid everywhere. I got stuff together and tried to rest a bit, and let my husband sleep a bit longer. Contractions were pretty irregular. We wanted to leave before rush hour, so got our friend to the house to watch the kids and headed out. Got to the hospital at 415am with pretty strong contractions, but bearable, I was 6cm. About 10min later I was still in triage, screaming. I was GBS positive and they tried to get at least a round of antibiotics in me, but I told them I didn't think we had that long. Finally got into a room and contractions were terrible. I was leaning over the bed and it was chaos in the room when I started pushing. Midwife was totally cool with me giving birth standing up. At 530am, about an hour after arriving, she was born! Totally expected a boy, so thrilled to add another girl to our mix! We stayed 48hrs due to GBS, but all is well. My milk tends to come in rapidly, so she's already had a few full meals. She does have tongue and lip tie, so will be getting that fixed this week hopefully. I'm sore and my tailbone took quite a beating, but with 3 kids, not much rest to be had!
Christopher arrived 9/11/16 at 1:32 am weighing 6lbs 8oz. I was induced at 37w6d due to gestational hypertension. I labored for 36 hours but only pushed for 4 mins only two pushes! Pushed so fast my doctor was unable to delivery, my awesome nurse did! Baby and mom are well and baby latched immediately! We are so in love!
Welcome to the world Norah Grace!! She was born sept. 7 via repeat c-section. Everything went amazingly and she joined our family weighing in at 8lbs 11ozs and 21.25 inches long! Her big brother adores her and we are head over heals in love!!!
Logan John is here. Born 9/10/16 at 3:54am weighs 8lbs 12oz and 22 1/4 in long. Was scheduled for induction on 8:30am 9/9/26 (39 weeks) due to a history of blood pressure spikes at end of my first pregnancy and trending up with the pregnancy. 6am on 9/9/16 received a phone call from L&D that they needed to push me back due to no available beds. They would call when one was free. Finally got called back around noon that we could head in. By the time we got checked in and settled into the room and started pitocin it was 2:30pm. My doctor didn't want to break my water yet because I was only 4cm amd 60% effaced. So I labored for the first 3 hours pretty easily. At 5:30 she decided to break my water because I was now 80% effaced. Holy contractions batman....these were the kind I remembered from labor with DS1...hard strong and frequent. I got an epidural at 7:30pm that removed the cramping pain but not the pressure. I was only 6cm. They said I was feeling too much. So they called the anesticiologist and they bolis more epi. I felt like I was floating for a bit. But after a while I was feeling pressure again. This time I was hoping it was because I needed to push but they checked me and I was only 8cm. I was shaking uncontrollably because the pressure was super strong and I had to breathe through each contraction. It was now after midnight. Again they said I was feeling too much so anesticiologist came back to bolis more epi. Now I was numb from like chest down, felt like I was laying on a raft in a pool with a severe chest cold. It felt really heavy to breathe. I felt zero pain or pressure. I got about an hour of sleep. I let the epi wear off because I should have been close to ready to push. The pressure really started to come back. After a few practice pushes The nurse called my doctor in and after 13.5 hours of labor and 14 mins of pushing Logan was out and crying beautifully. I had a 2nd degree tear at the sight of my previous episiotomy but overall much less sore down there this round. He looks a lot like his big brother when he was born. Because of the baby boom the day before I had to stay in L&D longer than normal because no rooms were available on the mother & baby side. We had a great stay but I was ready to come home and be in my own space and comfort. We came home today even though we could have stayed another night. Everyone is doing well. And my 3 year old and my 2 step-children were so excited to see him. Haven't gotten a pic with my 17 year old stepson yet but he loves his little brother. ETA: Logan shares a birthday with his uncle (my brother) and one of his cousins on my husbands side.
I am so late to the party, it has been so hectic around here. I have had a week to reflect on my experience and have a rather descriptive birth story, so it will be in its own thread.
Baby Ellie was born on Sunday September 4th at 9:10pm. She was 7lbs 8oz and 21.5 inches long. I was 40+2 and for being a FTM i had a fairly easy delivery.
So after a long 36hr induction that began Thursday night at 8pm and ended Saturday morning at 936a via csection (talk about drama queen lol ☺️) so here she is Gabrielle "Gabby" Rebecca! Weighing 7lbs 4oz and 20in!!
Keira Leigh joined us on 9/3 10 days early! 6lbs 9oz and 19 inches long. Mommy and daddy were out to dinner and shopping when I thought I peed myself because it was frequent lately so I brushed it off around 630pm. We got home and I went through 2 pairs of pants and said something wasn't right, I need to call the dr. No contractions or anything. Got to the hospital around 10pm, sure enough water broken only 3 cm dilated and still no contractions. They got us into a room and started pittocin, kicked me up to 5 cm. Long story short was fully dilated, pushed for an hour and a half and she was here by 6:48am! We are so in love.
Ravi Edward was born at 5:53 pm on September 9th. He was 18 inches long and weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces. I had gone in for a version, since he was breach. He was still in a "V" with his bottom in my pelvis. My blood pressure kept turning up high. They monitored me for several hours and it went down to barely normal, but then spiked back up again. It was decided that I needed a c-section immediately. It is going to be a long recovery but I'm working on it. He is so perfect, we just adore him.
Nathan Obinna born this morning after 14 hours of induction resulting in an unplanned c section due to respiratory distress. Baby is healthy and loves to suck his fingers already!
This is Thomas! He arrived September 12th at 10:30pm, weighing 7 pounds, 1 ounce. This is the first baby for my husband and I, and we're so ecstatic to be parents to this little dude! Labor was definitely the hardest thing I ever had to endure. It was over 24 hours of contractions and finally they got so bad at around 5cm that I decided to have the epidural. After that it was so much better and with 45 minutes of pushing he was out. Now our lives are changed for the better, and I can now see what all the fuss is about with having a child!
Baby Taylor Margery arrived today on 9/13 at 39+5!! 9 lb 6 oz and 21" of perfection. Born 7 am on the dot. We are so in love with this baby girl. Long version of natural VBAC birth story posted in separate thread.
Finally arrived nicolai came into the world at 7:58 sept. 13 weighing 7lbs 10.5 oz. Doctor had to use vacuum and forceps to get him out. So in love and glad he's finally here ( only a week late)
Eliza arrived 9/14 at 3:59am. My water broke at 4:45pm then I just felt crampy until around 11:30pm when contractions started. In a hour and a half they soon were coming 4 minutes apart. By the time we got to the hospital at 2:45 they were less than 2 minutes apart. They rushed me to the labor room, checked me and I was 8-9cm and feeling the urge to bear down. It took about 5 pushes for her to arrive. 7 pounds 9 ounces, 19.5 inches long and perfect. We are in love and recovering nicely.
Baby Madeline is here! Born 9/13 at 5:52 PM after a 12-hour unmedicated labor for a FTM. 8 pounds, 12 ounces, 20.5 inches long at 39 weeks. Happiest I've ever felt in my entire life.
I also posted a separate discussion on my experience for any other FTMs interested in going without pain medication!
Jensen Michael Grieve. 7 lbs 9 oz, 20 inches. Born Sept 15 at 4:01 after only 45 mins of pushing!
I went in Wednesday night to get a Foley catheter for my Thursday induction. They said I was already 3 cm and dilated all the way through so I wouldn't need the catheter. We got home around 10 and tried to go to bed around 11. I was having bad cramps and assumed it was from the cervical check. I didn't know whether what I was experiencing were contractions but they eventually got timbale so I got out my app. When it got to the point where I was swearing when feeling one come on and grabbing at the couch cushions, I woke up my husband. We embarked on our hour long drive to the hospital.
They checked when I got there at 430 am and I was 4 cm. I stayed 4 cm with them being 5 mins apart until about 10 am. So to speed things along, they were going to break my water. I got the epidural before that, and they broke my water around 11. By 2 pm I was 10 cm! They wanted him to descend on his own as much as possible so we waited until around 315 to start pushing. After 45 mins he was here!
We are trying to figure out breastfeeding. My nurse last night basically made me nurse through pain saying his latch was fine and I must have just been sensitive. But this morning the nurse said she could hear nipple damage being done and it's like knives when I nurse. I knew it would be hard, but not this hard.
So far he's so well behaved and barely ever cries. We love him the most! (Sorry I don't feel comfortable posting pics of him here - but he's cute!)
Aiden Carter was born on September 15 at 10:29 pm. He weighed in at 8 lbs 2 oz and measured 18 inches long. I went in for a scheduled induction at midnight. Due to baby being in distress through contractions I ended up having to have a c-section. All went great with that. He has already latched on first try and is doing great! A very quiet little one!
Went in for an appointment on Monday due to gestational hypertension at 38w +4d. My BP was still giving high reading so they sent me to triage for further monitoring for the third time. BP went down, but after speaking with the Dr. we decided to go for the induction. Started that at 6pm with oral medication. Felt nothing after the first and second rounds and after the third (taken at 4am on Tuesday) contraction pain went from 0 to 8 with one right after another.
Initally wanted to go without pain meds, but induction obviously wasn't part of our birth plan either and the pain was too much too fast that I couldn't get into the hypnobirthing mode. Also, I am GBS + and the antibiotic IV hurt so bad. More than the contraction and I felt like my arm was on fire. I was told that was due to the potassium preservative in the medication, which some people react to negatively. Eventually got the epidural around 10:30am and am happy that I did. Was able to sleep a little while I got to 10cm and was there by noon. Baby was still -1 so they left me to labor down until a little after 3pm. Started pushing at that point and she came out at 4:25pm. 6lbs 5oz 19"L
Re: September 2016 Birth Announcements!!!
Quintin Dale born 8/29 and 3:09pm. 8lbs1oz, 21". Love him to pieces!
