I'm taking DD to the neighborhood pool this afternoon. It's probably our last chance since the weather turns cooler here pretty soon. Then this afternoon we're going to our city's Greek festival. H and MIL are Greek so it's lots of fun. Only problem is H is sick so it's just me and MIL and DD and H is usually the buffer between me and MIL.
@FlyChick I hope the festival turns out to be fun with MIL! There's a greek festival here too so we will probably check it out tomorrow. At the very least, we go for the food
Aside from that I'm just trying to make sure there are no crayons hiding. DD has decided to scribble on anything but paper so thats been fun to clean up. And my mom is coming to visit so I'm excited to see her again and to share the good news.
I had to take my cat to the vet this morning because apparently they missed one staple in her belly from surgery 2 months ago. She has a lot of extra "fluff" so I didn't discover it until now. Now I'm going to try to figure out how to remove ground-in playdoh from carpet. And figure out a place on our tile area to move DD's table so I won't have to worry about removing playdoh from carpet again.
My kids and I have hand, foot, and mouth. So,thats pretty terrible, but I'm not puking (Yay!) There is mouse running rampant in my living room. It has become skilled at evadiding all the mouse traps along its usual route the past 2 weeks.Gross. And now a neighbors tree fell over my back fence. The tree destroyed my garden, but at least it missed the house and shed. So DH is working on the fence now, instead of finishing our kitchen... but thats a whole story on its own. I am so ready to be done with all the things I didnt want to start. Thanks for a place to complain. I would like to live vicariously through most of you, at least this weekend.
We went to the UGA game today and liked to have MELTED because it was so hot. I also had to leave DS with the MIL in their RV, so that was devastating.
Looks like everyone is doing a lot of fun stuff this weekend!! Friday night we went to the movies to see Sully (Tom Hanks) about the pilot that landed the plane in the Hudson River. It was fantastic & I definitely recommend it! We had pancakes at a local cafe Sat morning & then hubby & I each went to our workplaces to get some extra work time in (my classroom, & office for him, it's audit season). Then, we worked on making a concrete platform in front of our Little Free Library. We had a cute little stump for people to stand on while they pick out books, but it started to disintegrate a couple weeks ago. We have to finish the new platform today. I plan on painting book spines on the concrete.
It's been a super busy weekend for us. My dad and his girlfriend came in town late Thursday night, my son's first birthday was Friday and had his party yesterday. The past 3 days we've been so go go go that I'm barely functioning today. DS took an awesome nap this morning so I got a little bit of rest in. Now I'm watching football while DH is out playing hockey. I'm hoping to run to target for some essentials and alone time when he gets back.
Watching 9/11 memorials and pregnancy hormones are not a good mix. I'm glad I'm home alone because I have turned in to a blubbering mess more than once this afternoon.
@babs02 aren't 1st birthday parties incredibly tiresome. I had no idea this first time around. Glad to know what not to do this second time around, such as not have it run all day! Lol.
