I am #employeeoftheyear all day lol...I go up and see my patients, talk to my teams and then when I go back to my desk to chart, I am very much "multi-tasking". Very slick though @dubcompanion- I am impressed with your skillz.
  • I was going to post this in UO, but I thought it would be better here.  I am so uncomfortable with the constant questions about how I'm feeling, how's my stomach, what am I eating, when's my next doctor's appointment, etc.  I know I sound so stinking ungrateful for people in my life that care about me, and are excited for me, and I'm not, I guess I'm just more of a private person, and the constant attention is just weird.    Does anyone else feel this way?

  • I'm not a fan of "kimye" and honestly I don't follow celebrity news and gossip much at all. But these paid ads announcing "countdown to divorce" and "they're not happy, just look at their body language" have got to be the most tasteless thing in my internet life right now. Yes, they both have AW tendencies (to put it mildly) but publicly speculating on a couple's demise for clicks and ad dollars is just low. And the ads are on sooo many pages I visit.
  • Actively rooting for a couple's demise (especially when there are young children involved) for clicks seems low to me, also @MamaD233.

@RunBooRun - every time I see your siggy, I just want a big bowl of chili.
It is the reason we are eating chili tonight. (it's 98 degrees today.)

  • @RunBooRun i also made chicken chili last night because of you lol
  • My toddler has been saying "ow" all evening. I just asked him, "what's ow?" He said Ow and promptly clobbered me on the head.

I don't know what I was expecting lol.
That's so freaking adorable! I hear horror stories about the terrible twos and threenager all the time. It's nice to hear cute stories from time to time. :)

My sister just texted me. My five year old niece wants to know how the baby comes out and wants to see the doctor take the baby out. My sister said that its private, so she asked if there's a movie she could watch instead. My sister had her hands full with that one.
Well...is there a reason she cant see a video? They can mute the groaning. Shed probably think the mom was pooping the baby out, lol.  Your niece sounds super cute, and really smart and inquisitive! I think it was really tactful to say that it's private. :)

I feel like I'm in a somewhat similar situation. I personally would love it if my DD who will be 9 at time of birth could be in the room with me but DH is not having it and saying she is too young. I think I feel so strongly about her being there because of my prior loss. I feel like she's going to have to learn about it at some point in time. I also don't really want anyone to know when I'm giving birth so it can just be a time for me and my family and that can't be done if I'm having someone watch her.
  • i also got clobbered by a toddler tonight :( mine had a iPhone in hand and now I have a black eye.

It's funny in retrospect... But it's also my "why my pregnant self is crying" because I burst in tears like a big baby.  It didn't hurt that bad, I guess it just broke open the damn of pregnancy hormones I've been holding in all week.

    Stuck in the box!
Even If she's there is recommend having a person not your husband designated to take care of her....get her food, take her out If she's overwhelmed, etc...so your SO can focus on you. 9 doesn't seem too young to me, but youd want someone there in case something scary happens. (just in case)

  • @mcdonald-bailey A friend of mine just had a home water birth and her 4 yr old daughter and 2 yr old niece were there thtough the whole thing. Her 4 yr old cut the cord. It's not my cup of tea because my girls would be running wild but the pictures were beautiful and the kids loved it. I think if you know you won't be screaming and scaring her, it might be an amazing experience. I second the suggestion for a designated person to care for her though.
  • @jem89 my daughter really doesn't require much care. She could actually take care of me if I was sick. She's pretty self sufficient so I know she wouldn't be running wild or need much looking after. As of now, it's still off the table because DH said no
  • You've got until March to convince him @mcdonald-bailey! :)

What a smart little niece @RunBooRun!  Looking at cells online and a microscope at 5!!!!  That's impressive!

My sister in law stared at baby A's US from last week for 5 mins (not the close up of her butt) just like the side whole body view... And informed us the baby is a boy.. Lol I don't get what she saw!

we haven't told her they are girls.. Just seems too funny at this point.

  • @mcdonald-bailey It sounds like you have an awesome kid on your hands. A little helper will be wonderful with a new baby!
  • All the time @peony2418, I wish people would let me grow this baby in peace.

  • So I got an email in my inbox this morning that has a bunch of articles listed and one of them was "shaming women into pregnancy is not a way to raise birth rates" .... Ummm who is concerned about raising birth rates?! Obviously I'm not anti having kids, as I want them myself, but I'm pretty sure the earth is populated just fine, if not overly so, so IMO if someone doesn't want to have kids, great! Good for them! I just had no idea that anyone was concerned about more humans needing to be born lol.
  • LOL @Schumerator, yeah, I've never been told "wow, you really need to have a baby because the US needs to get it's birth rates up!"

  • @Schumerator @peony2418 They were talking about this on Elvis Duran this morning! Apparently for Fertility Day, Italy has been trying to promote procreation because of their declining population but used a bit of fear mongering talking about a woman's biological clock.... It's sparked a lot of backlash from those who are trying to conceive and are having difficulties.

Here's a link I found about it from Google: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/italys-baby-making-campaign-fertility-day-birth-rate-an-angry-response-fertility-a7221321.html

Wow @EALasagna45.  Seems pretty insensitive to run those ads on National Fertility Day.  Thanks for posting, it was an interesting read!

  • @EALasagna45 I love Elvis Duran! That is so interesting and weird that they would choose National Fertility Day as the day to promote that... And shaming people is never going to work... Like oh well this ad said I better go get knocked up, OR ELSE! Riiiiight  :|
  • The rental we live in was inspected- some contractor hired by the management company. The woman's supposed to check fire alarms, when she got here she took pictures of every room and checks the alarms then hung out and chatted? She gossiped about like 3 different prior tenants, she gossiped about the management company, she went off onto a bunch of tangents about her horrible experiences inspecting other houses when we were trying to make sure she was actually reporting things wrong with the place we're in. Icing on the cake was she told us we 'had to be our own best advocates' and be proactive about contacting the company with our issues... told us this 4 times in a row, after we told her how it took us weeks to get a reply from anyone at the company when we repeatedly emailed and called about a prior issue.
She worked maybe 15 minutes and we basically threw her out after an HOUR because DH had to get to work.
    Gah.
