We've decided to make this a monthly thread, for now. Feel free to talk about anything plus size related, or not. The only rule is we show respect to everybody.
The below format is optional. Thank you!
1. How far along are you?
2. How are you feeling?
3. Rants/Raves
4. What is the one thing you are looking forward to about fall?
Re: September Plus Size Mammas topics (edited)
I'm feeling physically like crap, still no energy and all the same symptoms from first tri including new ones. Mentally pretty anxious because I always feel guilty about never being productive enough.
2 rants! One being that I feel like I'm walking around in a frigin fat suit. I really feel trapped in my own skin. It's like this isn't my body and I forget sometimes, then I pass by my own reflection and I'm like wtf?! I know I'm in there somewhere lol
my other one is that I'm not liking how I started feeling consistent movement from the baby a couple weeks ago and it's pretty much been nothing since, not cool
I guess I have one rave and that its DS is starting school tomorrow!
oh man I look forward to everything about fall! I love it and enjoy everything about it. The cooler weather, apple picking, pumpkins, Halloween, comfier clothes, the beautiful foliage, etc.
TL/DR: What are we hoping to accomplish with this thread? What kind of support would help others here?
Also, for specific things like maternity clothes fitting plus size etc since we have specific threads for those things I just look there.
Not sure if that helps at all- just kind of explaining why I don't post in here generally. I do look just in case someone has a question as this is my third plus size pregnancy. But generally it seems questions are directed elsewhere.
My problem is finding a coat in my size. I'm a 4x pre-pregnancy and my 3x and 5x coats won't zip up. Any suggestions and /or ideas?

Anyone have any ideas?
@svveetie413 Have you tried zulilly.com ? They have plus size maternity winter coats. I'm not sure if they have them in your size specifically but you could check. I'll continue to keep an eye out for you, in the meantime.
But for the time being, I kind of like being able to talk about how shitty I feel some days and have a group that actually gets what I'm talking about. Sometimes it's nice to have my feelings validated with someone else's empathy rather than someone else's sympathy.
I will probably check in to this thread on my bad days or the days when I feel especially insecure or to offer a "that really sucks and I get you" post in support. So I like the idea of keeping this monthly
In regard to GD, I'd try not to worry now. if you get it, you'll have appts with specialists, nutritionists, counselors, etc. follow their directions, take it seriously.
Many, many people have healthy babies with GD.
When you've been married this long, you need a ticker to remind you.

Expecting Baby Bean February 2017
I have an extra paunch above my bump that is super emphasized by some pregnancy tops. It was embarrassing for me, despite just being around family. Pre-pregnancy, my pants usually sat right under this paunch. I've been wearing drawstring/elastic waist capris for a few months and I know I'll have to start with maternity jeans when the weather cools, but I don't really want to wear pants above my paunch and have my waist band and bra touch.
@purplewriter, this is baby #4, and I totally have twin skin and a pouch from previous pregnancies. I am honestly not quite sure even where the baby is in there. I have found with full panel pants that they kind of scoop the whole thing up and make it look more like a round pregnant belly. Tighter stretchy demi bands hit right in the middle of the pudge and make it go up and down at the same time.
I just ordered some plus sized jeans from Kohls, with full panels and I am really hoping that they fit. Nothing in the store is the right size. I have one pair right now I found secondhand, but they are so long! I might have to get them hemmed.

I ordered a bunch of maternity clothes from Walmart of all places. Their skinny maternity jeans looked cute online and were only $10 but when they came they were too baggy in the wrong places so now I have to return them. I ordered a pair from Old Navy to check them out but I may have to check out Kohls.
So I do have a question for the second time plus size mammas. At my last appointment my OB suggested when I come to the next appointment I do the test for GD. She said it's early but if I fail I'll know. But if I pass I'll still have to take it again down the line to be sure it doesn't develop. I almost feel like she's just assuming I'll fail because I'm overweight. I'm just wondering when others took the test and do you think it's worth it to do it early and possibly have to do it again?
I get the idea of checking early. Better to know as soon as possible to help avoid issues Etc. but the attitude was annoying to me and made me feel bad.
I do really like the motherhood maternity but they are pricey for me. But I found someone on one of our local fb resale pages that was selling some for cheap. I got a dress, three pants, a Capri, and like 10 shirts for like $30 from her. So maybe check around on those kind of places!
Old Navy tops look good and they had a 50% off deal this weekend :-)
I've done really well with Old Navy! I have a ton of returns to mail back. Some of there styles of the size 18 jeans were very loose, and some were tighter. I have a size 16 arriving tomorrow to see if it's a bit more flattering. I just want one pair lol!
The shirts are awesome though!!
With my ON cash I purchased a men's coat, I guessed on the size, so it might be a total fail!
I also tried Walmart and the jeans looked awful on me!!
My daughter was a perfectly average 7lbs 9ozs with no health concerns aside from an unrelated heart murmur. She did have to have her sugar tested every so often at the hospital after delivery.
I have already started to make changes to my diet and will have my GD test at 24 weeks. I'm hoping its negative, but know I have a huge chance of it being positive.

@kswiger06 I'm happy to let other people in! join away, especially if you have ideas
I didn't have GD, high BP or anything that could be weight related/possibly triggered by weight in either of my last pregnancies (also plus size/very overweight.) Both babies were also born with zero health issues whatsoever. I'm not saying that to be braggy AT ALL or to give false hope, I'm saying it to make people feel better that things might not necessarily go badly health wise just because you're overweight.
My BMI actually puts me in the obese range so I know I'm lucky and it's great to be health conscious especially during pregnancy, but it's also not an automatic death sentence. Now that I said that, I'm sure I just jinxed myself for this time but anyway lol I do have to get tested multiple times for GD but not only due to my weight but also because my mom is a diabetic so they're concerned about the family history. I don't blame those who feel bad that doctors are shocked when they don't have it because they're just assuming you will. I've been there! I'm also so sorry to the poster who mentioned being treated so poorly and judged for her weight. This board is not like that at all, these people are great.
My blood sugar is always low, so regular timing on GD screening for me. I actually think I have less body issues when pregnant, you are supposed to look this way growing a baby. My belly starts making my butt look smaller and that makes me happy.
@kswiger06 , you and anyone else who could be sweet and helpful are welcome here!
