I hear you!! It's 3am right now...been up icing my hands and having a snack (nightly occurrence these days). So much discomfort comes from my numb/swollen hands that I don't even know if anything else is uncomfortable!!
I feel lucky that most days my body doesn't feel like crap until about 6-7 pm. We took a trip over the holiday weekend and sitting in a car for 7 hours was NOT a good idea. First swelling of this pregnancy came from sitting with my feet down for that long. Sleeping is uncomfortable for 2-3 days then I'll sleep like a dream for two nights out of exhaustion. My pelvis hurts, my feet hurt and I'm starting to need to sit down more often.
So uncomfortable! My feet have also gone up 1.5 sizes, which is just ridiculous. I am wearing sandals to work, which isn't going to fly for much longer, so i am going to buy a few pairs of slip-on's.
I find myself rubbing my belly a lot. I actually like the belly... is that weird?
We decided on "preliminary" names, and I've decided which one gets which. Sometimes I call them by name and I am just falling more and more in love with them! DH is going to have a hard time convincing me of other names if he changes his mind now!
ugh we're all so uncomfortable =( I actually started crying last night, because my back hurt, my head hurt, I was so tired but couldn't sleep...just couldn't get comfortable. I've been fine with pregnancy up to this point. Now I don't like it at all.
@brittnic86 Numb hand for me too! I read online it is common for swollen hands to pinch nerves in the wrist, but going to mention it to my OB today anyways.
Also horrible heartburn/reflux. I don't really know what pregnant women are talking about when they say they could eat anything, because I swear I can barely eat the same amount of food as before I was pregnant because I can't fit it in.
The only thing that makes me happy these days is rubbing my belly and feeling the boys move. Oh, and Twix candy bars. I have one a day and they are amazing!
Oof, I'm pretty uncomfortable over here too. My hips are killing me most days, the belly feels so heavy, and this heartburn I still have some morning sickness but adding the acid burps from heartburn and feeling the babies flipping inside me and I'm just a pukey mess
I do love to feel them, just not when I'm already nauseated! I really can't believe how fast this belly keeps growing too- every day I feel so much bigger than the day before!
Should we do the questions? Haven't done them in a bit!!
1. How far along and what are you having (bonus for names!)?
2. Upcoming/Recent Milestones and appointments
3. Rants/Raves/Positives
4. Question of the week: what's the one question/comment/remark from people that you are getting SICK of? (in relation to the babies). And (to keep someone positive!) has anyone said or done anything nice lately?
1. How far along and what are you having (bonus for names!)? 23w4d and we are having two boys. And names are hard!
2. Upcoming/Recent Milestones and appointments I have had weekly appointments for a while, and my last scheduled visit is today. So I will find out this afternoon how frequently she wants to see me from now on. On the plus side, my cervix is high, long, and tight! Woohoo! I'm also attaching a pic of one of the boys from a few weeks ago. He always seems to be in this stretched out pose, silly boy!
3. Rants/Raves/Positives I'm such a child when it comes to being told what to do. If you tell me what to do, I will do the opposite. It's something I need to work on. Having said that, MIL always seems to start out every conversation with "You should..." or "Have you thought about doing...". Drives me up the freaking wall!
4. Question of the week: what's the one question/comment/remark from people that you are getting SICK of? (in relation to the babies). And (to keep someone positive!) has anyone said or done anything nice lately? Just generally sick of people telling me how much bigger I am getting. And as far as positive, every time I get home from work DH hugs Me and rubs my belly and tells me how much he loves my belly and how beautiful I am. It makes the stresses and worries of the day melt away.
Thanks @toller , I can never think of questions lol.
1. How far along and what are you having (bonus for names!)?
Two girls, Olivia Bliss and Sophia Lynn
2. Upcoming/Recent Milestones and appointments
I have my glucose test in two weeks....we start childbirth classes next week. DH felt babies kick for the first time last week Also I saw my stomach move for the first time.
3. Rants/Raves/Positives
I'm just feeling really overwhelmed and emotional today. Worrying that I can't do this.
4.
Question of the week: what's the one question/comment/remark from
people that you are getting SICK of? (in relation to the babies). And
(to keep someone positive!) has anyone said or done anything nice
lately?
I'm tired of hearing "oh just wait" when I say I'm tired. Really...I had no freaking idea...no one has said this to me before! Thanks for the heads up. Actually that was my response to someone who said that to me today...that's how sick of it I am.
Positive? People keep buying stuff for the girls...that's always nice.
@Toller yes they are di/di. I am feeling better, thank you. My mom has surgery this Friday. She'll be in the hospital for at least a couple weeks after, but she's got this!
@brittnic86 Love your names, Olivia and Sophia are two of my favorite girl names!
I've also accepted the fact that I cannot be supermom. I wasn't going to be with one, and there is just no way with two. You can't do everything. But you can love them and do your best, and that's really all we can do.
Also, How do you get that cute little banner at the bottom of your posts?
1. How far along and what are you having (bonus for names!)? 23w5d boy/girl I second @Amecsey names ARE hard! i want them named sooo bad, but nothing is working!!
2. Upcoming/Recent Milestones and appointments- Glucose and growth ultrasound in 4 weeks- anyone else doing a growth ultrasound around then??
3. Rants/Raves/Positives- Glad fall is getting here for the lower humidity!! worrying about maternity clothes still fitting towards the end... as I dont want to spend more $$! I might just wear the same 4 things and people will have to be okay with that!! We also have to meet with our landlords soon to find out if we'll be buying the house we're in or not come next may... so that's really stressful! Haven't been able to do any nursery things because it's not worth it if we aren't staying!!
Also wondering...how much milk can a human physically make? just wondering if it's even POSSIBLE to feed both twins and get some sort of stash in the freezer.....
4. Question of the week: what's the one question/comment/remark from people that you are getting SICK of? (in relation to the babies). And (to keep someone positive!) has anyone said or done anything nice lately? "oh you still have a ways to go yet!" F- you.
DD has been super cute about the babies lately (She calls them "her sukies" dont ask me why!). Always asks me "if I have them" when we go places. Here's to hoping her good attitude stays!!
1. How far along and what are you having (bonus for names!)? 23+3, modi girls, one is probably Maren and the other might be Ellis? We're still working on it.
2. Upcoming/Recent Milestones and appointments Echo & growth scan last week, fluid check next week. @Toller I'll have another growth scan in about 3 weeks (every 4 weeks for now)
3. Rants/Raves/Positives I ranted a bit above already, but I do really like feeling them move. It's fun to see what makes them move (a few jelly beans or a cup of coffee) and how fast they react!
4. Question of the week: what's the one question/comment/remark from people that you are getting SICK of? (in relation to the babies). And (to keep someone positive!) has anyone said or done anything nice lately? I'm just over people staring at and commenting on my body in general. I'm a very private (awkward) person and wish everyone would stop talking about my body!!
@TinaBelcher I'm a private person too and people telling me how big I've gotten makes me physically cringe.
So, I see my OB every other week, and she measures my belly, and yesterday she told me that my belly is measuring 33 weeks (I am only 23) HOLY MOLY! How big is this thing going to get?!
1. How far along and what are you having (bonus for names!)? 26w with DiDi boys. Front runners are Oliver and Asher. Oliver was a runner up for DS and we still love it
2. Upcoming/Recent Milestones and appointments: GTT on Friday. I now see OB ever 2 weeks which feels excessive but they're closely monitoring BP and proteins, as well as growth since DS was IUGR.
3. Rants/Raves/Positives: I have one more big shopping trip (this weekend) and we're DONE. All other money will go towards diapers.
4. Question of the week: what's the one question/comment/remark from people that you are getting SICK of? (in relation to the babies). And (to keep someone positive!) has anyone said or done anything nice lately? People keep assuming I'm at the end of my pregnancy. I get a lot of offers to bring things to my car when shopping. It's nice, but I decline still. Someday I may need it, but not yet.
@brittnic86 thanks, girl! I'm good. I was away Friday-Tuesday and now DS has hand foot and mouth so I haven't had much time for bumping. I'm also exhausted so often when I lie in bed and bump I'm passing out cold. I wish I could STAY asleep as easily as I seem to fall asleep.
So, I see my OB every other week, and she measures my belly, and yesterday she told me that my belly is measuring 33 weeks (I am only 23) HOLY MOLY! How big is this thing going to get?!
(edited to say stuck in the box!) I'm measuring about 10 weeks ahead too.........around 16 weeks my OB specifically warned me to "be prepared for comments" SUPER LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT. not.
1. How far along and what are you having (bonus for names!)? I am 26w 2d and we are having a boy/girl --- John Douglas and Ruby Joline. My twins are Di-Di
2. Upcoming/Recent Milestones and appointments: my doc and I are having a come to Jesus meeting next Monday. I haven't had ultrasound of my twins since 20 weeks and they made such a big deal about John being bigger then Ruby but nothing has been done. I hope they will start monitoring it and make sure these babies are ok.
3. Rants/Raves/Positives: I am ready for the babies to come.....though I don't want them to come this soon! LOL having a lot of heart flutters and high high pulse rates but the docs just say it's baby related and nothing to be done but its so draining
4. Question of the week: what's the one question/comment/remark from people that you are getting SICK of? (in relation to the babies). And (to keep someone positive!) has anyone said or done anything nice lately? My husband makes such a point of telling me Every day how much he loves my belly and how beautiful I look. I really appreciate it because I don't feel it. I am just sick of the standard twin questions you get asked - How did you get twins, are they in your family, how much weight have you gained with twins. I'm a grumpy pregnant lady.
P.a. I hAve gained 11 pounds which I worry isn't enough but no doctors has said anything so I am going with no news is good news
@jazzminlee Did the Doc make a big deal about size difference or just the tech? I'm in a great facebook group called "Birthing Multiples Naturally" and they talk about all kinds of things like this. I've read that size discrepancy isn't necessarily an issue between di/di twins because they are essentially 2 singletons in one belly and may just be different size humans. Of course if growth rates are lacking in one, that could be cause for concern.
But they DEFINITELY need to clarify with you what is going on!! I personally would double check the weight gain with them too- only because with twins it can sometimes be the most difficult to gain weight the farther along you get so you'll want to make sure you're on track (plus docs have a super wide opinion on "proper weight gain" so it may help to do some of your own research as well)
The doc and tech both mentioned it but tech was less concerned. Said that it's probably due them being different sexes and with me dropping two different eggs. Doc made more of a big deal about it. It just seems like they get hyper about something but then remain chill and relax with my twins. I know my twins are the "safest" type of twins but it's still two babies in one body. A little more monitoring I think is warranted.
I'm gonna mention all this plus the weight gain. I wasn't small to begin with 5'8'' and 233 when I got pregnant but as long as he isn't worried about weight gain and babies are growing I am ok with it.
@jazzminlee I had my GTT today and met with an OB - I have gained a total of SIX pounds this pregnancy. SIX. In fairness I did lose weight the entire first tri (and I could have lost 25 pounds to begin with to be in my healthy target range) but I asked a lot of questions about this. Doc said the babies take what they need, shamelessly. He said I'm probably still loosing and eating away at my fat stores... Yay! He said there is no concern unless babies growth indicates a problem.
@DiFazette hahaha that's awesome! I could've lost a lot more than that to begin with lol. Like at least 40 lol. I wasn't very sick, so I didn't really lose any weight. But I've gained 24 total, and have kinda stuck at that for awhile now. Maybe I'll be less after they're born lol.
They were only like a week apart but even their heads were different sizes. I am not that concerned about it honestly. I just don't like when they make a big deal about something but then don't follow up
@jazzminlee right - and if it were that huge of a concern, they'd be sending you to a MFM/perinatologist for a more invasive scan. I had a nurse comment that my babies would be 'very short' based on bone measurements and guess what? They measured exactly on par with my due date. Why the hell would you even say that? Also, the triage nurses make such a big f-ing deal about my BP at every appointment - OH, YOU HAVE HYPERTENSION.... Listen bitch - it's flagged all over my chart. I don't need you acting like an asshole about it. And for the record, no, I have mildly elevated BP's in the low 130s/70s. Stop acting like I'm dying. Know what helps though, annoying the hell out of someone with a blood pressure issue.
Sorry, I just hate that some nurses overstep and stress people put for no reason.
Had my appt yesterday and I was in so much pain I was convinced it was labor. Hooked me up and said I was having small (my ass) contractions but my cervix is closed up tight. The doc asked me before they placed the monitor how the babies were laying and I said I would fucking love to know that if you did ultrasounds like your supposed to then you would know too. My husband then jumped all over it too because I was in years from pain and frustration. So we are going back next week for a second anatomy scan to check growth and everything. I think we got our point across yesterday
They will stop once baby girl will move. She likes to lay right in the cradle of my hips and basically shoves down on my uterus. It's a fun game for her appearently. They told me to pack my hospital bag because doc is convinced I am going to to earlier then 38 weeks we already have planned!!!!
Anyone else out of breath really easily? It seems to have gotten worse lately. I literally do one load of laundry and fold one and need a break. It's really making getting final things done and ready harder. Ugh!
@Amecsey I was out of breath putting my shoes on for work this morning. My H laughed and laughed at me (yeah, hilarious, keep laughing bud and see what happens....)

I've gained about 24 and stayed there for a bit too. I was starting to worry but it makes me feel better that I am not alone.
