Woohoo, I'm a trendsetter! I just got mine too. Should have gone for the nachos. I didn't tell anyone, because I totally would have been judged by co-workers. No one here eats fast food. So I blissfully ate it in my car while listening to a Podcast. Mexican Pizza, hard taco and a bean burrito (I can't go there and not get one). I'm thoroughly stuffed, and don't regret it one bit.
@OrangeEv - I hope this causes some <minor> bowel issues for me. Between my body seeming to think 100oz of water a day = dehydration + an iron supplement, I could use anything to help clear me out.

ignoscemihi I have a set of friends who I judge their parenting decisions.... hard. Including things that I wouldn't judge other people for. Part of it is that I can see how other folks can make specific parenting choices for good reasons, whereas when my friends do it, it seems to me to stem from laziness. So I like to think I'm more judging the laziness (which doesn't make me less of a bitch lol)
@AllyTheKid - my response when people constantly ask "OMG - are you so ready to be done?" is "umm, not really. I like eating cereal and mac n cheese and Taco Bell without being judged or getting fat..." For real. I never let myself have stuff like that (at least not in the quantities and frequency I've been eating them). And for cereal I mean like Reeses Puffs and Count Chocula. And no vegetables, ever. But that one I can't help because they make me gag since I've been pregnant.

My FFFC: My son and I had this deal all summer that he could stay up late but he had to be up by 10am. So I've been trying to get up at 10am every day so I'm not a hypocrite, even tho I'm pregnant and go to bed way earlier. Today he's with his mom and stepdad, so I waited till they picked him up and then went right back to bed. Oh well. Lol
Also, I was sobbing uncontrollably while watching the new Black Eyed Peas "Where Is The Love" video. Hormones. Lol
Okay, I know this is probably more of a Random, but since Jimmy Johns was mentioned...
When I was in college I went to Alabama. While there one of our pretty good football players was named Jimmy Johns. One night a whole bunch of friends went over to a dining hall super late at night for food. Now, the important thing to remember is every single person was trashed out of their minds except me. I was there to make sure no one got run over by a car on the walk to get food.
We get to the dining hall and get in line to order and one of the guys in the group starts freaking out. "Hey. Y'all. Jimmy Johns. It's Jimmy Johns! Look, look!" and yeah... there's Jimmy Johns with a friend. So the guys in my group start yelling over at him to come get food, and they'll pay. So Jimmy and his friend come over, say hello, order food and really nice and chill. And then of COURSE my drunk friend yells "Hey Jimmy! You're awesome! You're so fast they'll freak! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" ('so fast you'll freak' is the slogan for JJ the sandwich place, for those who may not know)
As the only sober kid I'm super embarrassed, and go over and say "I'm so sorry, they're all really drunk right now." But he's super nice and just laughs it off.
The next day I retell this story to one of the other guys who was there and he's like "Girl, Jimmy Johns was high as a kite last night. You couldn't tell?" Oh. Well, no. No, I couldn't tell.
Ugh, sorry guys. I don't know why I told this story. It's just that it's Friday and I'm sooooo ready to go home and start the long weekend, and this popped into my head and I thought it was freakin hilarious. Like, I'm seriously almost-crying with laughter over here. But it's probably not as funny as I think...
+1 for having the house to myself. I get the WHOLE weekend though DH is going to the beach with his fam and I don't want to leave our problem child (Blaze) with anyone else while we're doing all this training..
@OrangeEv I also want to be closer to MY family... Except I love where we live and just want them to move here.
@bamacoop I just want to high 5 you for 1) writing your story 2) thinking it wasn't as funny as you thought it was and 3) explaining that and still hitting post instead of just deleting it. I love that.
@ibabyloveb87 yes --- it's nice to "not worry" about my intake and it's going to be a rough transition AGAIN once my son is born. I'm really not looking forward to being regimented again.

My FCCC is although I miss him, I REALLY like having the bed to myself when DH is out of town. Best sleep everrrr.
Also, I love me some Jimmy Johns, but when I think about the sandwiches, terrifying images of the actual Jimmy John go through my mind. Just look at him! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I really want my mom to bring DS to the hospital, and only my mom. I feel bad about it, but I don't want a big spectacle in the hospital room with DS and the new baby and my DS is very attached to my mom but extremely attached to H's family. I also know my mom will call us and have us come grab him before they come into the room...and give us some space.
When I was in the hospital with this pregnancy, one of his family members came to visit which was wonderful but she knew H and DS were coming to visit and I hadn't seen DS in over 24 hours...and she stayed in the room until they got there and I didn't even get a chance to say hello to my own kid before she started talking to him. And when I finally got out of the hospital after a week, another one of his family members were at my house waiting to see DS when H brought him home for daycare...and DS was upset/confused with my situation and not being home and I just didn't think she needed to be there. DS hadn't seen me yet, and completely ignored me when he got home. Which could have happened if the person wasn't there but it didn't make me feel good.
I feel bad expressing it to my H and I even feel bad typing it out here. But some of his family has a way of overpowering and taking control of situations and this is a situation I want "control" over.
Ok I'm from New England and we don't have Jimmy John's here in CT and I'm jealous!!! All we have is crappy Subway

Have you ever played the pregnancy card to get out of an obligation? I don't consider it playing the card when I have a legitimate need, and I don't think I've done it for something that was just an excuse. If so, something small I don't remember.
What is one thing you believe makes a parent a "good parent"? There have been some great things mentioned. One thing I think is managing to stay calm and keep perspective. I think it can really help to anchor babies and even as children grow older to have a presence like that. I'm hoping I can be the person who sings to the crying baby and puts it down and steps away a little if I have to, and doesn't freak out and tense up and make it worse.
@sportiegrl1213 I feel like Jimmy Johns is the Taco Bell of the sandwich world: some people love it! Some people hate it. Some people only eat there if they're drunk or if it's the only place around.
1. I can't remember ever eating at a Taco Bell. I actually don't like any kind of Mexican food (real or fast food versions)
2. I've never been drunk but I kind of feel like I'm missing out on the 'this food (which is normally just ok) is amazing because I'm drunk' and the drunk sex thing. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to imagine.
3. I judge the hell out of my dh's sister but mainly because she puts on this act to the world about being a certain type of mom but since we see her in more then a 'what she posts on Facebook' way, I have to stop myself from rolling my eyes almost every second of being with her.
4. My fffc: I know this is bad because we will have to go back and redo this in a few years, but my dd hates when she sees garbage on the ground because she knows it's bad, but we always tell her not to pick it up. I mean she says it everywhere (ex. Toilet paper on the bathroom floor). It's not that I don't want her to care about her/the environment but I also really don't want my 3 year old picking up someone else's trash.
I've only played the pregnancy card to get out of housework, haha. And as one of those battered kids I just want to say you guys all sound like you're going to be GREAT parents. I hope I can be half as great as you all. And yes, I feel like I might cry.
Sidenote @bamacoop - I was a sheltered white girl who played varsity at a division 1 football school and let's just say hooooooooooly crap did those guys open my eyes.
@sportiegrl1213 - you're not missing anything (my UO?). I haven't had one in years, since college, so like 8 years. They don't heat their subs. Who wants a cold grinder? Blah. I LOVE the shit out of some Quiznos though, and the ones by us keep closing so I think they're done. I'm going to have to find a new favorite. Maybe Firehouse Subs.

@AllyTheKid - it makes me so sad. Clearly I wasn't going enough. The owners are always super stingy about toppings and stuff so you would think they'd have tons of cash! But I seriously love Quiznos for their honey mustard dressing and pickle bar. Yum, I want one right now and I'm stuffed with Taco Bell. I don't think we have any more in our area.

(1) DH has been out of town on business all this week. 3 out of the 4 nights he has been away, I've slept on the couch because I have been too lazy to make it upstairs to the bedroom.
(2) On the laziness front, I did not take a shower this morning because I did not get up off of the couch in time to take one before work. I used a damp washcloth to swipe my netherregions and my pits and called it good.
(3) I am in the opposite position of all you all who will miss eating whatever you want while pregnant. My GD has me pretty limited in terms of what I can eat, so I am SO ready to have those restrictions loosened. I already have a list of food I intend to eat during the 1-2 weeks after delivery when I will be giving myself permission to eat whatever the fuck I want. The good news is thanks to the GD diet it's looking like I won't have any baby weight to lose (I'm actually 5 pounds down from my prepregnancy weight), but I'm going to have to be careful afterwards that I don't go too hog-wild after being so restricted and wind up gaining "baby weight" after the baby is actually here . . .

@SpaceBurger, yesss! I sleep SO much better when DH is out of town or away for the night. He wakes me up with his loud breathing/snoring/tossing and turning all night.
@bnsmith8, +1 for having the house to myself for the weekend. My mom is taking DS on a weekend trip and DH is going on his "last Harrah" with his buddies for the weekend. Wish I could say I will be relaxing and pampering myself, but I have to work all three days. Yay for holiday pay?
My FFFC: I had never heard of Jimmy Johns until joining this board.
My UO: I hate letting my dog on the furniture and will never let her in my bed. I had to deep clean my couch today because it reeked of dog. And with all the shedding, I can't imagine letting her sleep with me. Also, as a second FFFC, I totally secretly judge people who sleep with their dogs. It just grosses me out.
haha @LizaKate1213 I totally judge myself for letting my dog on the bed. I was staunch on having that not happen, and then DH talked me into it. Our bed is so hairy, I wonder where his paws have been, but then I totally live for our morning snuggles. Worth it!
The ONLY reason we stopped letting the dogs sleep with us is because I would end up with 1/4 of a king size bed due to neither of the dogs sleeping on DH's side of the bed and would then have a back ache in the AM. that said... I wish there was a way I could bring them up on the bed to snuggle and then be out of the way when I'm ready to sleep lol Now our little dog is the only one allowed on the couches. She doesn't shed though so it doesn't bother me.
My FFFC is that I wanted a "small snack" before dinner and have now eaten about 3/4 of a brick of cheese. I'm going to miss my cheese binges post-baby.
@SpaceBurger I was very adamant that my dog was not going to be on the bed too but DH totally spoiled her and now she insists. I don't really care about her on the furniture otherwise only because she doesn't shed. She doesn't get in the sheets though!!

I bought a $15 block of cheese at Sam's yesterday. Just for me to eat because it looked good. Never in my life have I splurged on something as absurd as that but I just couldn't resist!
I have a mom's night out tonight and I plan to go to the gym, drop DS off at childcare and then just shower and prep (at the gym). I can't do it at home because I can't leave him alone long enough to shower/prep properly and DH is probably going to get home right as I need to leave. No fucks given.
Wow, I missed a lot today! No tags cause there's no way I can remember who said what 3 pages later haha
i do not love Taco Bell, but I do admit to craving it once this pregnancy. It was hard tacos that I had to have, and halfway through the first one, I looked at my husband and asked, "why am I doing this? I don't even like them." I only ate 2 of the 3, but it satisfied the craving!
Ive never had jimmy johns, but I'm not really a sandwich person, so I don't think I would like it very much.
I teared up reading some of the good parenting responses and agree with so many! For me, it's about being there when they're young so they'll know you're there when they're older. And yes to kindness. And self-sufficiency- can't stand seeing kids who won't do anything for themselves. And hard work. See? I told you I agreed
i wouldnt call it the pregnancy card, but I have passed laundry on to my husband- I can't reach the bottom of the top load washer or the back of the front load dryer anymore. LOL.
yes to the eating with no care. I've eaten ice cream every night this week...oops.
UO: I don't like horror movies or the scary side of Halloween, so October can be hard for me. I love fall though!
Re: FFFC + UO 09.02.16
