It's a new month and a new cycle! This is the place to rant and rave about waiting to ovulate! Fx for on time ovulation and well-times baby-dancing for everyone!

Re: ****September WTO****

  • I'm on CD 11 and have officially missed the deadline for the saline sonogram this month. I had to cancel my appt on Tuesday bc work for crazy. Honestly, my AF was 2-3 times longer than my first post-D&C cycle so I'm less freaked out about scarring than I had been.

I'm still on the fence on whether to try this month. My original plan was to start TTC again in September, but I never expected my post-D&C cycle to be 72 days long. I thought I'd get 3 cycles in and not 2. I wanted to be better at following the egg quality diet.

I lurk over in the TTCAL grad group and saw that 2 TTCAL grads had MMCs in the last 24 hrs. So shitty and unfair and freaking me out. Am I ready to go through this again? Any others on the fence?

  • The TTCAL Aug grad thread? I'm not seeing that....?

CD6. But until after our trip to NOLA in Oct we might be lucky if we BD 2x during FW. I think because I had so long to wait/benched I am okay again, but I certainly wasn't for, I don't know, at least 3-4 months? I couldn't even imagine it. Then again at the time, I didn't have a choice--had a big ol' goiter and a bunch of weird thyroid hormones.

Had a horrible nightmare about having a baby last night. So horrible I can't even write it down. Scared the s*%t out of me. Hopefully a one-off.

  • @amberruka I hate bad dreams about babies and pregnancies. I know how triggering they can be.

There was a decision to create a group of TTCAL-er grads rather than all hang out on PGAL where there were others who didn't participate in TTCAL. Some of us asked to be added proactively to lurk and provide encouragement (this was pre-TTCAL grads thread started). Those ladies were AMAZING to me during my last pregnancy and would lurk from TTCAL on PGAL to support me the 7 weeks between when I had a very bad beta doubling time and finally got my Triploidy diagnosis, so I like to lurk and support them as well. I'm not sure who the group leader is since @SnobunnieMel got banned (if only we knew where to find her!), but I'm sure you could get added to the group if interested.
  • Yes, hmmm......wonder where she could be?  ;)

Thanks for the info. I'm finally able to lurk on PGAL some now and that gives me hope. That would be nice to be added but no pressure or hurry, and if anyone's uncomfortable that's totally fine. That's so sad though.

  • @Taggarab I'm pretty sure that it's possible for your left tube to take over for your right tube if that's the side you ovulate this month. It's one of those weird things that the body does to compensate.
  • @Taggarab I am sorry you're having a hard time, this process is so emotional.  I see a therapist on and off but I have to pay out of pocket and it's too expensive, so I go when I really need it.  I have thought about going to a support group in the area that is infertility + loss related.  I don't know if it would help or make me even more depressed, but I think I am going to try it once and go from there.

AFM, I went in for CD8 bloodwork and everything came back good so I have to go back Sunday am for an u/s and another blood draw.  Talk about a damper in the middle of a holiday weekend...
  • CD 4 for me, bought the super fancy, expensive Clearblue ovulation tests to use this month. Fingers crossed.

  • Hello ladies

I've been benched for some months but now I am officially WTO!

I've had 2 MC this year (blighted ovum in Feb and CP in May). They discovered I have hiper insulinemia and hiper prolactinemia, both things under control with meds and diet.

Today I went to my RE. My latest tests were good news! My prolactin is normal with this new meds, and my anti B2 test was negative, so I don't really have APS after all.

I am good to go this month, and next month we will try with some help from medicines (Femara, progesterone).

DH and I thought that we could try "naturally" this month, and hope for the best.

I am heartbroken to learn about recent MCs of our grads... So sorry this is happening, I hope the ladies are feeling better little by little.

    -Hugs

  • CD 12 and been having a bit of cramping, but no positive opk. This is my last cycle before I go to a RE. Crazy that I scheduled this appointment 2 months ago. A bit nervous this cycle, but decided to just have faith and relax. Of course I haven't got to the tww yet so....we all know how that goes.
  • Okay, TTC brain trust - I need your opinions. We were given instructions to have relations yesterday, trigger today and IUI on Friday.

Well since it was DH's birthday, I gave him a BJ yesterday morning before we got our instructions. Then last night we both fell asleep on the couch before relations were had. (Oops, we're old.)

I don't always have the perfect CM when I am on these medicated cycles, but it sprung up yesterday and this morning like the old days! The LH test I had yesterday returned at 7.5, so I know we are just gearing up and the timing is right, but my question is, do I seduce DH this afternoon or should I have him save up all his swimmers for Friday morning and then have relations after the IUI for insurance?

Male factor has been an issue, but is not our primary problem. Last procedure, we had 6 million post-wash. Not great, but decent numbers. I am not sure what to do.

  • **TW**

@chloe97 I'm on the fence more than I've ever been. SIL#1 is currently PG (EDD around my birthday) and SIL#2 had her baby in July. DH and I are the only ones out of his siblings (with partners) who haven't had a baby yet. So there's that, but there's also this innate desire to be pregnant- like it's what is right, what I'm supposed to do right now. I've tried to stifle this feeling while I've been bouncing back from MMC#2, but I feel very strongly that our third time will be the charm, so I also don't want to waste time. I know it may seem selfish, but DH and I are so close to being debt free, so I feel waiting could be good in the long run. I just keep going back and forth, there are so many factors on either side of the "fence", however the strongest factor is that I feel like getting PG is what is right for me at the moment. Sometimes I feel so selfish for worrying about other things, but I think what it comes down to is that I so don't want to go through another MC. My heart aches for the Aug grads going through this tough time..

I just started BBT temping in the mornings, so I can better understand my cycle. It is so very hard not to obsess!

I am so blessed to have the love of my life, my DH, est. November 2008.

  • I'm so sorry to hear about the recent losses from recent grads.  I'm keeping everyone in my thoughts.   <3

@fivetimesnoluck can you call the RE and ask him/her what to do?  I'm thinking if you were told to abstain for 2 days it was because of the MFI.  You might want to call and see if you have the 'ok' to have intercourse tonight an then abstain for one day before the IUI on Friday.  That's what I would do if I were in your situation.

I'm on CD 9 and go in for my follicle scan on Friday morning.  This is my first medicated/IUI cycle after our loss, so I'm nervous about everything and just really hoping my lining looks great and I have some great follicles.

  • I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you
@fivetimesnoluck. If it were me, I'd seduce him today. I think 36 hours should be enough time for his supply to replenish. The SMEP program has you BD ED with a positive OPK- so I'd imagine a 36 hour window wouldn't do much to the count, but I don't know a ton about MFI.

AFM I'm on CD 17, no sign of ovulation and I just realized I'm not supposed to be taking Advil. I've had a massive headache the last day and a half and have scarfed down 6 the last 2 days. Shit. I need to throw the Tylenol back in my purse. DH and I were going to BD tonight, now I'm freaking about if we should even take that risk. Can Advil harm egg quality??

I'm  not even pisssed about missing this cycle- I'm annoyed that my next cycle is going to be delayed. I had high hopes of having the same due date (my grandmas birthday) as my first pregnancy.
  • Hey @fivetimesnoluck seduce him tonight! Our doctor told us 2 days is plenty male rest, so I'd go for it! And then again on Friday hehehe!

thank you @DungeonTrollMel yes! It's been quite a long process for us, my first due date is next week and in October it will be a year TTC.

I am also worried about egg quality @chloe97 . My RE told me that my high insulin and prolactin levels could have influence in producing bad eggs that ended up in MC, for those 2 times I was pregnant. That's the only input I have regarding egg quality and things that affect them... Good luck!

  • Sorry if this is a silly question..I have been trying to read up on it, but there are so many different insights, so maybe you all would have some insight from experience! DH and I BD on Monday (I had just returned from a 3 day trip and it was the first time since our loss, which was hard and I cried afterward) but I had a negative OPK that afternoon. Then I had a positive OPK on Tuesday afternoon, so we BD again last night. This morning (Wednesday) the OPK was negative again. Should we do it again tonight or wait a night and BD on Thursday? I don't want to lower his sperm count, although we don't know that we have any concerns in that area.

Last cycle, I had a positive OPK on CD 25, Tuesday was CD 20- but since I have irregular cycles, cycle timing isn't all that reliable. I don't temp, because I always end up waking up to wee at about 630 and can't wait to temp before getting up. So I don't know that I am calm enough from 630-7 when my alarm goes off to temp then.

  • @waitingforblueskies - a positive usually (although not always) means that you'll ovulate within 12-48 hours after a positive. So I'd definitely have sex tonight, as a positive yesterday means you might ovulate today or possibly tomorrow. Unless you have a known male-factor infertility concern (like low sperm count), there's no need to worry about having sex everyday in your FW.

That being said, given that you have irregular cycles already and this is post-loss, there's no way to know for sure that you'll ovulate without temping. It's possible to get multiple surges (can't remember if you have PCOS? Very common there to get multiple positive OPKs a week apart. If you have the cheap OPK strips, I'd recommend monitoring CM and retesting OPKs if you get any other signs of FW after this week. Good luck!!
  • @RiverSong15 Nope, don't have PCOS. I just took another OPK this evening and it was an event fainter negative than this morning. We will BD again tonight and potentially Friday night (of course, DH says that he doesn't mind at all) :) Thanks for the advice! I will keep an eye out for CM and try to make myself temp before my 530 wake up starting next cycle.

DH and I just BD with the intent to TTC for the first time since February. It felt so weird. My OPK was almost positive tonight. We will give it one more go tomorrow and leave it at that. I told DH that this is a practice cycle. I'm sure I will be upset when I get a BFN no matter what.
  • Do any of you feel ovulation twinges on one side but then find out you're releasing from the other side? I'm having strong twinges on my left ovary but yesterday the follicles on that side were much smaller than my right.
  • @soontobemommahowe wow! That's great news! FX for you!
  • yay @SoonToBeMommaHowe!! crossing everything for you :)  and yes, I don't know why but one side twinges and the other side produces.  Well barely...I am CD14 and only measuring 12mm...sigh

  • Yay @SoonToBeMommaHowe! We are cycle twins since I got a positive OPK this morning too!! Fx this is your cycle!
  • Oh a cycle twin! Yay @chloe97! I'm really trying to remain calm and already telling myself it's ok if this cycle doesn't work. I've made a lot of progress in the last couple months (shortening my cycle by more than two weeks and finally confirming O so we have a chance) and need to focus on that! But I'm sure once we're over in the TWW I'll be dying to POAS  :#
