I hate hallmark cards. Most of them are 4 dollars now and you feel obligated to buy them for birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. I always try to write a nice note on them so it's more sentimental but I hate receiving them from people. If you're going to spend 4 dollars on a card you can write more than "dear so and so , love so and so". And that's all that people ever write!
I would much prefer to receive a piece of paper with a thoughtful note written on it than the ten birthday cards I receive every year that get thrown in the trash the day after.

This is why I buy cards at the dollar store now. Why waste $4 on something someone is going to throw it out the next day when you can spend $1. The exception is for like my parents and grandma who live 8hrs away and I know they really like cards and will keep them displayed for like a month, then I put thought and more money into buying cards for them.

I don't understand the need to say why you edited your posts.
SITB
The only reason I can think of is so people don't edit their posts if they get flamed to make themselves look better? otherwise I don't get this either.
@Gretchypoo Those ones I kinda get. It's the ones for spelling and grammar that make me irrationally annoyed. Like I just read your whole post, I don't need to try to guess which word you edited
I edit my posts fairly regularly because autocorrect on mobile has done some real doozies. I typed "blood work" once and it replaced it with "bloodletting" uhm, ok... because that's more common?!
My UO: I don't get "staycations". If I am at home, there is ALWAYS something to do or work on. That is not a vacation. If I have time off, I want out of here. Let's go see something cool! Hike something! Eat all the good local food!
@WinchesterGirl I haven't personally taken one, but I was under the impression that staycations were when you stayed in a hotel in or near your hometown.
@WinchesterGirl granted I live somewhere people vacation too, but we did this last week for my kids summer break.
Monday: knotts berry farm tuesday: beach play day Wednesday: kids museum and hot date with infamous ginger toddler thursday: aquarium friday: different play date at kids activity play place thing.
The idea is to not sit at home doing stuff but to go out and adventure in your area
So far under 1 was a great age to travel but the idea of traveling with my kid right now is painful. I want to go on a relaxing trip without him not chase his ass around somewhere foreign.
@srscott3 I did that yesterday and I was like: " this feels dumb , do I have to do this? Will anyone notice if I don't say why I edited it?"
I honestly don't even notice that people made an edit, until I read why they made an edit. I only state why I edit mine because everyone else does theirs lol.
My UO: I don't find Chris Pine attractive in the least bit. I get super defensive about why he's not when I'm with a group talking about how hott he is. I could make my own list of 100 sexy guys and he would never even cross my mind.
The only staycation I am interested in doing is one where we save the airfare/other travel and stay somewhere local. As soon as I am in my house, I start noticing things like "oh, hey, the laundry"... I suppose hiring someone to come clean my house every three days during my "staycation" would be cheaper than a local hotel, though...

@kswiger06 that's totally fine. More Chris Pine for me!!
I guess my UO is that I edit grammar/spelling in my posts all the freaking time without noting it. I think it's only worth calling out an edit if you are making substantive changes to your comment. If I say something really inflammatory, have 5 people respond, then I edit my original comment without noting that I did it, those 5 comments look out of whack, and I don't think that's fair. Me noticing I used the wrong form of their because I posted before my morning cuppa and fixing it? Nobody cares about that but me.

You said this way better than I did. But yes to all of it.
@srscott3 If I had to note every time I made a grammar booboo, I'd probably go into a shame spiral and never post. My day job is correcting grammar for a living (among other things) but I am not above screwing up the most basic things on the internet.
I'm going to preface this by saying that I'm a (mostly) SAHM. Its annoys me and I roll my eyes out of my head when SAHM refer to themselves as "domestic engineers" or something along those lines. Staying home and taking care of your kids and home is not a job. It's just what's expected from a parent, working or not. I have mad respect for the working moms who have to put in a day of work and then come home and do all the stuff I have all day to do. I think SAHMs have it exponentially easier than working moms.

I have never heard of someone referring to themselves like that before. It's kind of funny though.
Working full time and then running home to take care of the household sucks. Some days I do want to scream and just go on strike. Especially if I have a shitty day at my full time job then go home to a mountain of laundry and chores waiting for me, like they always do. My goal is to be a SAHM sometime in the near future, hoping my husband finds a more stable company that he can rely on that offers medical insurance comparable or better than the one I have through my company. I am not a career woman type, just not a dream I have ever had honestly. Not knocking anyone else at all
@Gingersnap I wonder if you will still feel like that with more than one. There are definitely days like today I'm so exhausted I'm glad I can drop him off and deal with adults being children for a while instead because I can be mean to them.

My UO: H and I are pretty sure we just want one kid. It's just how we picture our family. We were both onlies who liked it for the most part, so that probably plays a role. We both do remain open to changing our mind after adjusting to parenthood with one.
@kswiger06 that's how I feel about Channing Tatum. Don't get it.
@Gingersnap I'll disagree with you (kind of). Being a mom is hard, from home or work. I was a single mom when my eldest was 1-3. I worked overtime and then came home and tried to catch up on alllll the things, especially time with him. So hard.
I've been a married SAHM for two years now, and (at the risk of all the corny), it's obviously easier on my heart (specifically getting to be around my kids all day) but harder on my sanity (...specifically getting to be around my kids all day). I'd say it's just as hard, just different hard.
Not having designated, uninterrupted time to focus on any given task, a battle with loss of self, increased housework because we're home all day -- that stuff comes to mind. Also, my husband's input and not just getting to do all the things my way, ha.
But absolutely all the props to working moms.
Edited to include: Uh, yeah "domestic engineer" or "CEO of Blah-Blah Estate"? So dumb. Soooooo dumb.
Uh oh... how long? Eek I like my nails and most people say wow are those your natural nails, they are long.
Anything longer than your finger. Like my nails are super short and I'm constantly cleaning under them, so long nails must be dirt magnets.
I see... my nails are lots longer than the end of my fingers lol... my husband keeps his super short and to me it seems like his are always dirty and mine stay pretty clean. (I mean, he is a man and does a lot more "dirty work", but I still dig in the garden and go fishing with worms with the kids so mine get dirty too) but since mine are long I can use them all as a nail file end and pick at them with the others. (That sounds gross) so I feel like mine are clean more often than having to hunt down something to use to clean them out.
Another UO: I think fake nails are gross... people always have to get them filled so they look bumpy if they aren't done and if people put those cheapie store bought ones on, they pop off at the worse times. (Of course I'm sure some of you wear them, and I'd never say anything outloud about this opinion just on here)
@Xstatic3333 - We are the same. We always said that (if) we had any, it would be one. Planning on getting one of us fixed during/after delivery depending on how things work out.

Yeah, I'll probably feel that way with more than one, or if I can't go to work a couple of days here and there
