Zika Question

I may need to travel to Scottsdale for work in October. I'll be around 23 weeks and should be cleared to fly.

Should I be worried about Zika in AZ? I'm live PA and we haven't had any cases yet (except sexually transmitted I believe).

  • Thanks. I'll have to take a look.  :)

  • There's this really cool search engine called Google, you should try it!
Yes, I'm fully aware. I was just looking for some advice or info from people who live in the area or if it was discussed here recently.

No need to be sarcastic. We are all here cause we are pregnant and sometimes one of us may have a silly question or two.

  • My next doctors appointment is in a few weeks so I'll just ask then. I'm surprised though that my OB hasn't even mentioned Zika or asked if I traveled to any of the infected areas. Thanks.

  • Isn't Arizona a dry climate? So I would think that there wouldn't be too many mosquitos there.  HOWEVER, I would still advice speaking to your doctor.  Good luck!

  • @Gretchypoo good to know. What about the sarcasm? I have questions and OP just left me hanging. She wants us to answer her questions but she won't answer mine. Sad.
I'm also a sarcasm expert. I am here to answer all your questions. :-)
  • I'm so glad I opened this thread  <3
  • @Patience7150 you're very right. No one is forcing me to be here, but luckily most of the Moms-to-be who participate on here have constructive information to share. It's when I see new people come into this group and ask a question, just in turn to be belittled, that I find it to be incredibly inappropriate. Just as I am not forced to be here, you are not forced to participate negatively in a discussion. It's just as easy to skip over the post all together if you find the subject matter annoying!
  • @joyful08 lucky for me, I'm due in February and not March, so I'll be sticking around with the smart asses. I know many of you take pride in running off people who disagree with your bully behavior, but I'm here to stay.
  • @Gretchypoo I do understand what you are saying and appreciate your remark. I think we just need to consider that maybe, just maybe, some of these folks are new to the board. 1 comment telling them where to post is appropriate. The next 15 tearing them apart are not.
  • mporath041815 I appreciate what you said above.  I am new to TB and to this board, I just joined yesterday actually and some of the pile-ons to posts like this one took me by surprise.  I tried to read the instructions and intro boards to hopefully get it right - but I guess I better gird my loins just in case.
  • @BumpasaurusRex check out the Baby Agee post. This newbie wasn't using this group as a personal Google. She was simply an excited new Mom-to-be introducing herself to the group and she was quickly shot down. If I were her, I'd be terrified to say another word in any thread. For that reason, she may never have the opportunity to become part of this "community". Unfortunately, this thread is simply an example of the disappointing behavior being shown on TB. The issue really isn't with the repetitive questions or fly by users, it's with the attitude of those who view responding negatively to posts as a full time job.
  • You ladies rock. That's all I got.
  • I was just thinking the same thing @WinchesterGirl
  • @WinchesterGirl I noticed that. Did they even offer anything helpful to the OP on this thread or just continue to derail the thread like they complained everyone else did?
