My ice cream sandwich is melting because I'm distracted my all these super cute announcement pics! This was our official picture we put up a week ago or so.
H is a police officer and I saw something similar on Pinterest and loved it.
That's adorable! My H is a police officer too, we aren't doing any sort of facebook announcement though. Probably just post a picture the day he/she is born lol.
My husbands a police officer also! We thought about doing an announcement (something about me having one in custody) but decided against it. I am obsessed with the newborn pics in the police hat etc. though! Pinterest is killing me with those! Haha
We recently announced. My DH and I have a love of cupcakes...I bake a lot and had a cupcake blog. We met at a Halloween party when he was dresses as a cupcake. Since everyone knows cupcakes are our thing:
@MLRocha that's how I was planning on announcing to my coworkers before my "accident!" How did your coworkers react?? Also, now I need donuts....for "the baby." The baby wants donuts.
@AfKash - There were all very surprised... Of course, there are a bunch of people out today. So, I took a picture and sent an email telling them they were missing out
I've been trying to find something clever with the three kids. But today I told my principal, so now that I can go public I might just be boring and post an ultrasound pic haha
I put this shirt on DS without telling him what it said, and had him walk up to my mom and ask her what it said. I had to force him because he was mad and crying that the "surprise" I brought him was only a shirt and not a toy lol. Once we finally got through to him what the shirt said, he was absolutely ecstatic! I posted these, saying "Nolan has something he wants to announce!" It was so hard to get a non-blurry pic because he was so excited, jumping and running around, and I couldn't not post it, because...that face lol
Well we finally got around to announcing it last night - I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow! No real reason we waited so long... We had already told our close friends and family so it wasn't a huge deal to tell our more distant Facebook friends. And.... WE WENT WITH THE ICE CREAM CONE IDEA! Everyone loved it. Thanks for encouraging me to go for it because it was a big hit.
DH and I told our respective mother's over the weekend. No pictures, but here's how we did it: For my mom, I wrapped up a box set of Dr. Seuss books (which my mom always read to me as a kid) and stuck on a note that said "to read to your grandbaby when he/she gets here in February". For his mom, he called (she's six hours away by car) and said "I need to tell you something because people are going to be talking and I want you to hear it from me first: I got a girl pregnant". And, those two stories explain his and my personalities in a nutshell.
We finally announced with this picture. DD had just been at the OB with me and heard the heartbeat on the Doppler. She was having fun "hearing" it at home.
The top photo is of us at our infertility clinic feeling sad and discouraged by a 30,000 dollar IVF and the pain involved. The bottom is us at or 2nd ultrasound feeling euphoric about a surprise conception in Mexico. We were told it would "never happen"!!!!
