Had my 37 week appointment today, nothing super exciting to report. My gbs test came back negative so yay! Since I haven't had any contractions she didn't do a cervical check. Baby is still high. We have an ultrasound growth scan scheduled for Monday and then we will decide what the next step is. She said if I've had contractions then she will check my cervix next week as well
NST today at 34+6. Fairly uneventful except for the consistent contraction throughout the hour. Thanks, uterus. Im irritable too but you don't see me throwing a temper tantrum every five minutes. Another one Thursday, I'll also have my gbs stab and first cervical check then. We will talk timeframe and possible induction dates on Thursday after the check.
38w appointment was uneventful. Same old! They were going to do a cervical check but she decided against it so as not to trigger any spotting or contractions which was totally fine by me I had a minor freak out with DH when they told me they would check me! So no checks until my next one. I hope baby girl stays put, but so far not many contractions (I was having more last week), no MP, no signs of anything going on aside from her dropping lower and lower.
35 week appointment today. Ultrasound looked great. Little girl is head down and measuring right on schedule. Got "stabbed" for GBS and had cervical check. She's still high but cervix is soft and dilated to 2 cm. Now I switch to weekly appointments. They told me today to make sure I have the car seat ready and a bag packed just in case. Now I have to figure out how to fit all my children in the backseat...
I had my last appointment in the office this morning. BPP showed a happy baby. Stayed on NST for about 30 minutes and had a few big contractions and dilated to a 4. thursday at 5am is the big day ::shivers::
I have a growth scan US wednesday morning, doc said last week at my 38w check shes measuring a little small 36w. Not sure what will happen or be said...i think shes ran out of real estate in there...my regular weekly apt, 39w, is thursday... Will report back later on. Good luck this week all.
Had my 37 week appt today, nothing new. Cervix still closed, c-section scheduled for 09/07. Growth u/still scheduled for Thursday. 2 more weeks of appointments woohoo, then we meet LO
I had my 36 week appointment today (at 36+4). Found out I am 2cm dilated and 70% effaced. Baby is stage -1 and super low. So interesting since I haven't felt any contractions (that I know were contractions) nor any sign of spotting, etc. I told the mid-wife I haven't lost my MP and she said I don't have one at this stage, lol. WOW!!

While I don't have another baby related appointment until the 30th, I did have an osteopathic manipulative therapy (OMT) appointment yesterday and let me tell you... she is my hero! I got my pelvis squared back out, ribs relocated to help with my awful acid reflux and the hernia in my lower back pushed back in (ouch!). I will say that while my OB doesn't want to see me every week my OMT doc does and I'm ok with that!
Had my 37 week appt today (I'm 36+5) and my first cervical check...2cm and 70%. I was 2cm and 50% at this point with DS. So I'm glad I'm about the same.
Had my 37 week appt this morning (I'm 36+5 also). It was pretty uneventful. My strep test came back negative and I got my whooping cough vaccine. My midwife said I will have a growth scan next week and check her position in there. She said she feels like she's head down but sunny side up (which could explain the back contractions I'm having). She said she is guessing she'll be on the small side; around 6 lb right now. No cervical checks yet so I have no idea how much longer she'll bake, although she feels like she's about to drop out any day
@sarahg8r Do you remember how many weeks you were when you delivered DS? I know everyone is different but I'm super curious since we are at the same level of progress right now.

37 week appt today--just another NST. GBS negative. Baby girl took a while to do it, but finally passed the NST. So glad I only have 4 more appointments before our scheduled C-section! So ready to meet this little gal!
I had one of by twice a week NST and I failed. This was my last appointment as the doc decided that today was the day baby girl needs to come. I go in tonight for a c/s.
@blondie080300 I actually ended up being induced 10 days early because my BP was high. I was 4cm that day...and I was still in labor for 17 hours, sooooo I'm not too hopeful!
Good luck @618mom22boys! I wonder if that is going to happen to each time I go to one of my twice-weekly NSTs too! Here's to smooth sailing ahead and to meeting your sweet babe tonight!
Had my 36 week appt yesterday and after a week of drinking water nonstop, basically having a water bottle glued to my hand 24/7, my fluids went up a tiny bit so now I'm at a 6.5. GBS came back negative and I have another US next Monday, so back to choking down water for another week. Baby boy is sooooo low, below my hips and a good chance he'll stay there. She checked my cervix to determine dilation and I'm 2-2.5 cm right now and she said she could feel his head and that I had a "favorable cervix" whatever that means, guessing something good! And on another good note we FINALLY got our hospital bags packed and loaded in the car
Normal, boring appointment at 36+6 today. Pee in a cup, BP, weight (no gain! what?), heartbeat. Everything was fine. My GB stab from last appointment came back negative. No cervical check. She wants to check next time even though I normally refuse because of my early, quick labor last time.
36 week appointment today. They did the GBS swab. I brought up my concerns with her size (at my last ultrasound, the end of July, she was already 5lbs and 89th percentile) so the doctor did a quick ultrasound to check her position and take some measurements. She said my uterus was actually measuring at only 33 weeks, and that baby appeared to be average size for her gestational age, no longer measuring big. She said based on size alone I probably wouldn't need a c-section, which is great. When I asked why I hadn't been scheduled for an ultrasound around this time already, she said that even though I have GD, it's well managed and they didn't feel an extra growth scan was necessary. But she put the order in for another one to recheck measurements anyway.
Had my 36 week appointment today and everything went good. Had my GBS swab and she said I was 1cm and 70 percent effaced. I was nervous getting checked would hurt but it was just a little uncomfortable not bad at all. She did say that she felt some scar tissue from my LEEP procedure I had to have a few years ago, so when it comes time for labor it may take me longer to dialate. Has anyone had a LEEP before and if so did you have any problems during labor?
Had my 36 week appointment today (35+5). They did GBS swab. Checked cervix and said no fireworks today. Had a growth scan due to GD and little man was approximately 5.12lbs in the 35th percentile. He was head down and curled in a ball on my right side. Scheduled to be induced on September 15th (39 weeks) due to GD.
I had an appt today at 35w4d. I got my Tdap shot and did the GBS swab. The OB thinks she's head down, but back to my back which could explain some of my discomfort lately. She said her head is still not down very low so doubtful for dilation at this point. Surprising as I've had a lot of abdominal and crotch pain lately...I am now on weekly appts so I've booked the majority of my remaining appts! Crazy!
Had an appt today at 38w3d and still not dilated at all. My ultrasound at 34 weeks had baby measuring at 7 1/2 lbs and the us on the 19th had her measuring at 9lbs so doctor has me scheduled to be induced this Friday at 8pm! I'm really bummed out because dr is gone that weekend so she's having her partner (who I've never met) be my dr for the delivery She has me worried about baby getting stuck and needing a c section but we'll see. I'm trying not to stress but with DS almost getting stuck at 6lbs15oz I'm not too hopeful. Not to mention our car seat got delayed and we still haven't received it!
39 week appointment today. My previous appointments I had not been dialated and today she told me I was a very very tight 1cm. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I'll take it as progress.
Sept 1st is my due date and last regular appointment. If he's not here by next Thursday, they will schedule an induction. I'm really hoping it does not come down to that.
37 week appt today, nothing interesting. GBS was negative, baby is still around -2 or maybe -1, cervix is still soft and thinned but closed. Last week the doctor seemed so sure he'd be making an early (not imminent, but early) arrival, today she just sort of shrugged and said, see you next week if you're still pregnant! Ha.
@PSUBecky23 my weight is stable/ tiny bit less than last time also - I made a joke about the baby sucking the life out of me, and the doc fired right back, yeah, get used to that. Perfect.
Had my growth US and 39w apt today. (38w5) the scan went well, they say she's only measuring 37 weeks but she has always measured one week behind since they have been measuring my belly. Her measurements are good and her weight is currently 7lb3oz... So they are not worried about her.. Phew. Great relieving news. Even though I had some good BH last night i am still only in between 1-2cm and 80% Dang it. 8 more days til DDay. So close.
The Good: Baby sounded great during the NST and, at the end of the day, that's what's most important!
The Bad: The appointment was VERY contradictory from my appointment last week. Last week, I saw my own doctor and had a growth ultrasound - found out my amniotic fluid levels are above normal range. My doctor strongly suggested we consider induction (so that my water could be broken in a controlled environment to minimize the risks associated with high fluid levels). She said she didn't want me to go any further than this Friday before evicting baby. I was also 2cm dilated.
This week, I saw the new doctor in the practice. She said there was no reason to induce until I'm post-term after 41 weeks. Made it seem like the risks associated with high fluids were negligible. Also said I'm only 1cm dilated. (This is the same OB who said my cervix was completely closed a week after I was in L&D where my own OB told me I was a 1.)
Anyway, I have mixed feelings about the induction situation. I'm happy it's not as crucial as it seemed last week because I would much rather let my body take the lead. But it's a mind trip to think I've got (max) two days left and then be told it could still be weeks!
I'm also frustrated about the inconsistent cervical checks. At this point, I trust my own doctor way more than the new one - the new one just seems much less experienced and directive. So I'm kind of ignoring anything she says that contradicts my doctor. I really just wish I could have seen my own doctor today but oh well.
37 week appointment went well. No word on the GBS stab from 2 weeks ago, but then I never heard my blood results from the beginning either. I guess my OB only alerts you if something is abnormal? Cervical check places me at 1/2 cm, so that's more than the 0 two weeks ago. Also, baby's head is super low. I kinda knew that from the increase in pelvic pressure/painful hours, but it's nice to have it confirmed.
Tl;dr: Baby's hanging out in launch position, but no real new info to report.
@JennM205 That sounds annoying! I have a practice with 8 midwives so I rotate through them and I sometimes run into that where one week I hear one thing and then the next it's a little different information.
I had my 36 week GBS stab/swab on Monday and at the appointment my fundal height was measuring 2 weeks behind so now I have a growth US for Friday. I just had one at 32 weeks to check my placenta position and everything looked great so I'm hoping it's NBD.
Growth ultrasound and 35 week appointment today. He was sucking his thumb and weighs an estimated 5lb12oz, great average size. And hopefully will keep growing well the next few weeks! Got my GBS stab. Not painful, but still feel a little tickly after a q tip to the bottom. Eep. Hubs got to meet the doctor that will do our c section, and he made inappropriate jokes to her (i.e. about holding my panties while I got swabbed) as usual. That man is lucky he's charming. 3 weekly appointments to go!
