Had my pregnancy confirmation (pee test and internal ultrasound) last week and don't have another appintment scheduled till the first week of sept when I have the hour long 'consult' (preg history) and discussion about genetic testing options as well as my first trimester bloodwork. Then I think they will be monthly. Does anyone go to an OB that does not require a urine sample at every visit? (I do understand about the protein levels etc, just curious)
@Dannylion24 my doctor hasn't yet asked for a urine sample.
I have my second ultrasound this Friday. We had a good size and a heartbeat at 6+3 (lower heartbeat, but not out of range for the gestational age) so FX for good things at 8+3! If all goes well I'll be collecting my files and transferring to my midwife group for a 10-11 week appointment.
I have my second ultrasound this wednesday. I went in last wednesday after not having been sure when we conceived because I have super irregular periods. It turned out last week that baby was only measuring 6w1d and the heartbeat was only 82bpm.
Doctor assured me that could be normal if the heart had just started beating, but scheduled me for this wednesday to "confirm viability" aka that baby is growing and heartbeat is going up. I am nervous wreck, but trying to tell myself that I haven't had any cramping or bleeding or anything and it probably was just very early. Can't wait for Wednesday to get here.
I have my first appointment Wednesday. I know she is doing an ultrasound. I'm so nervous and hope that everything is okay in there. I also hope she has an answer as to why I'm getting killer stomachaches after eating. Good luck to everyone this week!
I have my first appointment on Friday. I'll only be 5+1 so it seems early to me (I don't think I had my first appointment with my OB last time around until closer to 9 weeks so either they were really busy my last go around or the nurse was just very eager this time. In any event, I don't expect it to be much more than paperwork and a spiel on taking care of myself. I likely won't get my first ultrasound until around 12 weeks unless the OB feels the need to date the pregnancy separately. I'm super regular, so last time they just "dated" when I had my NT scan.
@GG620 - Gosh I hate when they use phrases like "confirm viability". WHy can't they say we'll check on peanut's growth and see how he/she is doing. Try to stay positive and relax, stressing yourself out only stresses out baby. We'll be thinking about you! Be sure to let us know how things go.
@allybadry yes, exactly! More positive language probably would have made me feel a little better! haha. Thank you for the thoughts! Best of luck with your ultrasound!!
First real appointment is on Friday. We had a phone "in take" appointment with the head OB nurse but I feel like all of that information came at me so quickly. I am nervous and excited for Friday. Trying to figure out what to expect by reading other threads
@KirstinH88 I also have my phone appointment this week. When I initially called they scheduled me for 3 appointments, that's dumb that you have to wait to go over your health history before scheduling. The receptionist just asked for my LMP and then scheduled a phone appt to go over my health history at 6-8 weeks with a MA, an appt with the ARNP at 8-10 weeks and the actual OB at 10-12 weeks. I called later to ask a question and got scheduled for my 14-16 week appointment.
I've got my first apt today in a few hours, at 7 w 3 d just for paperwork and probably some blood work. I won't get an u/s until AT LEAST 10 1/2 weeks. I wish it was sooner!
Recheck ultrasound tomorrow to see if we have a baby or a blighted ovum. I have had 2 previous losses so of course this is been a very long week to wait for this appt. I should be 7w 2d. Doesn't help that I lost all my pregnancy symptoms Saturday. Not feeling very optimistic. Sorry to be such a downer
I had an u/s today. Baby was measuring a week behind (based on my LMP) and had a heart rate of 114. I am not concerned because I was tracking my ovulation and believed I ovulated late. I go back in 4 weeks to make sure everything still looks good.

Happy to report we had a heartbeat today! 129bpm. Baby measured 6w3d so less than I expected (7w2d) but my LMP was actually a chemical pregnancy so OB said i was probably just off on my days since it wasn't a predictable cycle this month. She wasn't worried so I'm going to just be positive and try to enjoy being pregnant for once
Thank you again everyone for all your support you guys are the best. If I could gif mobile you would all be getting kisses right now!
@leslieknope Was that your first ultrasound? My OB doesn't usually change due dates unless there is a big difference, baby will come when she wants anyway.

I had my first appointment today. All looked good, and we saw/heard the heartbeat. Huge relief!
