@LastMango You might want to look away right at the beginning if you're really set on Team Green. Girl parts were the first things we saw. As in, tech placed wand on my tummy, said "Oh there it is! Want to know the sex?" And I said, "Well that is obvious. It's a girl!".

@LastMango yes, definitely ask the tech to let you know! She wasn't even down by the legs when we saw, she was trying to get a good angle for a spine shot when he moved and it just went right across the screen. I didn't think it would be so obvious.

We're having a girl! I've always wanted a boy, so I (with the help of my hormones) did some pretty hefty crying the night we found out...then I felt terrible about being disappointed, because she's healthy and that's all that matters, which made me cry harder... But it's been 2 days, and now I'm just excited! Especially excited for the mound of adorable tropical-themed baby girl clothes I just ordered to come in!!!

Definitely avert your eyes. With my son, the tech put the ultrasound wand on my belly and the screen was immediately filled with a little penis. We had been planning to find out anyway, but had we been on the fence, he would have made the decision for us!

The exact words my OB used were "That penis is the size of Dallas!" Why'd you have to make it so weird, guy?! "It's a boy" would have sufficed.

@LastMango if you have a good tech that knows it's important to you not to know from the start then they should be able to help direct you when to look and when not. Once they get a good feel for where the baby is and what they are looking at they can tell you to look and if there is a chance something may show up that you don't want to see they can tell you to look away.

@JessLeonard23 today at my 16.5 week check up doctor says 80% sure it's a boy he even wagered a steak dinner ("not a car" his words) I really didn't think I cared but it's been an emotional afternoon trying to process kinda glad I have decided not to tell anyone till after our as scan on sept 7th I apparently need the time. I really thought it was a girl, with ds I had no inkling, so being so convinced is sorta hard for me. Part of me is still hoping he is wrong, come on steak dinner lol. Hubby is so calm about everything it's kinda nice but then I feel guilty for caring.

We are having a BOY! Craziest thing ever! As a FTM I feel like I was just given this huge puzzle piece of my future identity. Life is amazing! I'm just going to be walking around for the next week telling myself, "WOW! It's a BOY!"

We have two boys. So my husband and I were pleased to find out yesterday our baby this time around is a GIRL! This is our last child so its nice we finally got our dream of having our baby girl!

So, we weren't going to find out the sex. We even told the tech and she complied.

However, later in the ultrasound, the technician slipped and said, "There's her foot. I mean his or her foot. I don't really know." And DH and I looked at each other, rolled our eyes...and then we had them confirm because why not at that point.

It's a BOY!!! So fun to begin to use specific pronouns and start to think about life with our son.

ETA: Also, spending 45 minutes watching our son was easily the best thing ever. Beyond in love with him and cannot wait to meet him.

@kelseyh62 I wanted to say first, congrats, and second, I LOVE how you worded that. I have been trying to wrap my head around how I can express what I feel about this baby being a girl, since she is our first child as well! It definitely feels like I've been handed a puzzle piece. I sat in disbelief for hours until I finally was like, her her her! I am having a girl! It is such an amazing feeling!

It's a BOY for us!! We almost didn't find out this weekend, at our scheduled ultrasound the umbilical cord was right between his legs so the tech said she didn't want to say for sure. We were so sad so we went and paid for a 3D ultrasound the next day and that tech spent a while and said he was 100% sure it's a boy. He even guarantees a $300 refund if he's wrong.

It's a boy for us! Early on, I thought it was a boy, but before the reveal, I was 100% sure it was a girl. Shocked for sure. I only grew up around girls, so this is a big adventure for me!
