WTF Wednesday

Re: WTF Wednesday

  • I'm sorry @WinchesterGirl. My MC due date just passed this month too. I can't imagine having to deal with all that extra sadness and annoying business owner crap. We're here for you to vent!

  • @Xstatic3333 I aspire to be Leslie Knope IRL but I'm definitely more like Anne. I re-watch all the time.
  • @peachesnbean that sounds amazing to me. I'd love to have a quasi communal family situation. loves it!
  • @WinchesterGirl I'm so sorry you're dealing with so much right now (((hugs))) Eating a Krispy Kreme sounds so special, maybe have a couple to help get you through :)
  • @WinchesterGirl *hugs* I'm so sorry this month is hard.
  • I'm so guilty of doing that, it drives my husband nuts @floatingelephy
  • @WinchesterGirl I am sorry you have so much to deal with right now.
  • @WinchesterGirl sending love during your rough month! Hopefully you can just go through the motions at work and try not to carry too much of a burden. Enjoy yourself a nice warm Krispy Kreme donut in honor of you Dad and enjoy the little things. Try not to stress!! Sending love!

  • @WinchesterGirl if we could, I'd treat you to a few drinks for sure!! *creepy Internet hugs*

  • @Gingersnap haha.
Well, I'm clearly over it since I used some, took a picture, posted on the Bump, and then just left it as is. We'll probably just play chicken until one of us replaces it or it's time for a new new roll, I guess.
  • @floatingelephy My DH does the SAME thing! That made me LOL.

@poetryandoceans I don't think you sound selfish in the least. This is a big milestone for you, and I agree with PP I would make sure he knows you are disappointed he may not attend.

@NiceyMeany Are you having to pay to replace the stones or is it insured? That is extremely annoying.

Thanks again ladies for all the sweet notes. I've been Bumping all afternoon (completely gave up on work) and it is making me feel better to think about other things!
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • @WinchesterGirl No, it's under warranty.  But I'm still annoyed.  Also, I'm sorry to hear about your shitty day/month :(
  • @WinchesterGirl I think you're fully entitled to a Bumping-at-work day after how your boss treated you and your awful month in general. I had a similar loss EDD at the beginning of the month, and it was a real struggle. I hope the rest of your month looks up a little, and that your boss takes his head out of his ass...
  • @NiceyMeany that is absolute bullshit. they should extend the warranty or replace it or something if you've had that many issues! My engagement ring was a pearl and it fell out THREE TIMES before I got married (the last one the night before our wedding!)
  • I completely agree with @poetryandoceans, @heatsparks. That comment is very worthy of reporting if you want to. Sorry you had to deal with that.
  • Omg.
My 3 year old was eating chocolate ice cream in the kitchen with my H. She got some on her face and told H to clean it off because "I don't want to be brown like my friends"
     :o
  • @scifichick09 You gotta buy two boxes!

@heatsparks Yours wins WTF Wednesday. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable comment.
  • @HeatSparks oh my god you need to complain.

  • My WTF remains my sister.

we told her we were expecting in week 9 or so, she couldn't even say congrats just "so when are you due" I'm like "WHERE ARE YOUR FEELINGS GIRL" she has two kids whom I love and adore - but since we saw her that day, she hasn't called or texted to ask how I am doing. I'll be 13w on Sat - and had a MC at 12w a few years ago which of course she knows. Like, does she just not care? We've never had an easy relationship, we barely have one at all, but still, send me a text FFS.

why is family so difficult? blerks.
double sucky because I'm adopted and have always felt like the weird one, but secretly embraced that... But now I'll have a whole person who looks like me!

Mad props to the ladies who are hating work this week, I'm on vacation thank the lord. But at least once a week I consider driving an Uber or becoming a barista.

    xo

  • @gingersnap hopefully she meant tan? I mean it is  summer..

@gingersnap hopefully she meant tan? I mean it is  summer..
    Idk why it double quoted.
I mean, her best little buddies are two black girls and and a Hispanic girl, it was just such a weird thing for her to say.
I really hope she doesn't blurt that out at school.
I asked my H how he responded and he said he just ignored it.
Idk what I would have said, any suggestions?

Oh man sorry no real pearls of wisdom. I would probably just ask her why she said that and get a dialogue going about why that's an inappropriate thing to say..
  • @Gingersnap ooooh that's a tough one. I might have just asked her what she meant? And talked about it a little more based on her response? What she was saying might have been influenced by something her friends said at school, so without knowing the context she was thinking of, it's tricky!
  • Yeah, if she says it again or something like that I'll prove a little.
I blame it on the grandparents.
  • @GlitterDragon I think I owe you a coke for that jinx. I swear your answer wasn't there when I posted.
  • @HeatSparks +1 for reporting her! that comment is completely out of line. 1 in 3 women have had an abortion, she doesn't know who she's judging and that is unprofessional to say the least.
  • @gingersnap do you think your daughter thinks they are "dirty"? If she asked to have her face cleaned off maybe she thinks her friends need "cleaned" ? This could be totally off but due to her age it sounds like a possibility.

@Gingersnap it may be best to address it as soon as possible. At age 3 she is likely just repeating something she's heard elsewhere, so a little investigation may reveal the "culprits" and a REAL conversation can be had with them about how inapprpropriate it is the feel that way but especially to express it in front of a young impressionable child.

  • My WTF is my boss.  I am an elementary school teacher and my principal told me when I announced my pregnancy to him that he doesn't want me to say anything to the parents until after the first week of school, which is September 9th.  I'm realizing that this means I can't announce my pregnancy to people in general (AKA my friends), especially on social media until after that because it will get back to the parents and everyone will know. The more I think about this, the more it bothers me.  Like, how can my boss dictate when I'm allowed to announce my pregnancy? Not to mention the fact that I am clearly showing and it will be so obvious to everyone when they see me.  Am I overreacting?
I know people have touched on this, but as a parent I'm on the other side. We've had 2 teachers pregnant and due during our kids school year. The first was when my son was going into kindergarten. She was due in early October. The second was when my son was in second grade, and she was due in February (like us). Both teachers put it in their introduction letters they sent home on the first day of school. We also had access to a class list online. Not one student from either year moved classes. I assume questions were asked about who would take over and when the teacher would come back, because I know I asked, but it was something we discussed during parent teacher conferences. The teacher due in October did early conferences just so she could be the one to do them. Both times the classes went well and there was smooth transitions between teachers. Of course depending on the age of the students (I feel like it would be harder on younger kids) and the school atmosphere itself, maybe it's not a good idea for you. We live in a quiet small place and parents here were ok with the teacher being absent for a few months.
