My snoogle got delivered today. DH is going to freak out when he sees how big it is. Things are already kind of tight with us and two 45 lb dogs in a queen sized bed (we're not a small people). Also, I'm having a hard time imagining it being comfortable... Maybe because I so much rather sleep on my back? *fingers crossed*
NiceyMeany, marriedhamstermom, silvercamaro77 and bdesterhouse- yes I will continue to remain calm and civil about it, but will still try to pursue getting it back for February. Great advice and sounds pretty reasonable to me. Just needed that extra reassurance I wasn't being a TW for asking for it back to begin with and no one here seems to think so which means I'm good hehe
Congrats on the new house MrsDramaK, that's wonderful news and must be so exciting
Who said they were the knitting guru? Was it @MrsDramaK ? Teach me your ways!
I will teach you the ways of the force.
Basically, I found the trick to knitting to be keeping one hand steady and do all the work with the other hand (in my case I do all the work with my right hand cause I'm a righty), I always saw people who appeared to be using both hands rapidly and I don't know what they were doing. Once I figured that out, I googled a lot of tutorials on how to do it and that helped. Also, metal needles are slippery, so I found it easier to learn (and less of a headache) to work with plastic or wood needles. But if you have questions and don't want to clog the thread you can always DM me

@LC12261012 my husband and I are going on Thursday to get our gender reveal at a sonogram center. My whole family keeps referring to the baby as a girl and it's bugging me that this could be a boy and everyone keeps saying "her" and "she." We're also seeing most of my family this weekend so we will likely try to do something fun to tell them the gender. Waiting another four weeks just seems too looooong!
Is anyone planning on going to one of those elective ultrasound places in the coming weeks to find out the sex of your baby before the AS? I considered it with my 1st pregnancy but held out and I'm now considering again. The places around me start out at 17 weeks and the price isn't too bad but I'm not sure I wanna spend the money or just be patient for an additional 3 weeks. Just curious if anyone is planning on going that route.
Yup! I bought a deal on groupon for $20 so I couldn't pass it up.

Whaaaaaat? I gotta check this out.
Yes!!! Your SoCal right?? There were so many in the area. I know SoCal is big but I checked different cities. A lot of places also have deals on Yelp.
I have 3 orders that got delivered today! And one is my first order from Stitch Fix and I can't wait to get home and try things on! I love getting fun mail!
I would LOVE pictures!! I have a slight Stitch Fix problem. I am in SOOO many FB groups. They have a Stitch Fix maternity group too.
We have one of those toilet seats too, and the thing is awesome. Ours is really solid and heavy and nice quality, too. @raptormomma we got ours on Amazon for $30, I think.

I was just going to comment I freaking miss living in LA for this reason. Gas and rent? Through the roof. Crap you didn't actually need but wanted? SUPER cheap!
Does anybody else think about when their unborn child will be a teenager, one day? Lately, I've been thinking.....why do we go through all this? So much pain, labor, vomiting, and then breast feeding. Only for the kids to grow up and hate us. Now I know, the teenage phase isn't going to last forever but I know that day will come and my heart is going to break. I think of all the trouble I put my parents through when I was a teenager and I feel awful. Just awful.
@afkash I've thought about it. I expect some really rough years but it'll be worth it. I'm more just excited about seeing the awesome people they'll become.
I'm a freak... I like teenagers. I didn't hate my parents, and have a lot of hope that my kiddos won't hate me. They'll just think I'm generally annoying and embarrassing and clueless.
I've seen some articles lately about how the way you interact with your kids when they're young can make a huge difference in your relationship with them when they're teenagers. There were lots of suggestions about raising a toddler to one day be a connected and communicative teen. It gives me lots of hope that maybe it won't suck too hard. Probably unfounded hope, but... I'll cling to that.
Either way, it HAS TO be easier than having a toddler. Has to!!

You really are starting to walk the line on cyber bullying and passive aggressiveness.
My little sister has been cyber bullied for the past two years. And after seeing what she went through first hand, I feel compelled to comment and tell you that in no way is @Gingersnap "cyber bullying". Yes, she is passive aggressive and snarky, but so are many of us on this BMB. Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. She is strong and opinionated and tells it like it is.
Maybe next time think about sending a private message instead of accusing someone of a very real and serious issue on a public forum.
@Afkash I need to agree. That is not, at all, cyber bullying. That's not a term to throw around. What she said was not all different from what I said. We have both noticed, I think (not to put words in Ginger's mouth) that you are worrying, a lot, about things that can't be controlled at all. That's where my response came from and I read hers similarly.
We're all adults here. We can disagree without it being cyber bullying. I'm here as opposed to other boards because that's the kind of environment I like.

Say what? Along with the "blame it on the hormones", accusing someone of cyber bullying when they aren't is also very frowned upon. She did not cyber bully you one bit. Seriously, you do need to take a deep breath.

@AfKash and if you think teenagers hate you, you should see the terrible twos/threes. I'm pretty sure my toddler hates me and wants me miserable a minimum of three times a week.

This.
Just last night, my toddler screamed at me for over an hour and it's not like he would tell me why. He.just.screamed. It was awesome.

When my daughter was still in the toddler stage, she would throw these tantrums at times full out stomping and jumping up and down, with yelling at us too. It was actually quite amusing but of course we tried to keep it under control. She started getting so mad at us, then stomping to her room and shutting herself in, her door was snug and too hard for her to open so she would get stuck. Eventually it got to be that if she was bugging us my husband would be like "I can tell you're getting ready to go to your room, don't you dare leave us and go in there. You have to stay out here with us" She then would say "no, I am going to my room" and she would go. Lol it was awesome. We didn't abuse this great tactic but it came handy a few times lol
When DD or DS get really mad at us I tell them to lay on the floor and kick and hit it while they scream (like a classic temper tantrum). When we're standing there encouraging them to do it they never last long before it loses it's appeal and they chill back out.
Funny story about DD at DC the other day- DD went over and picked up the 2 toy ponies to play with and her friend, S, ran over to her and started freaking out "That's not fair!!! I wanted to play with the ponies!!!" and DD responded with "Calm down S, I'll give you a pony." It was so funny watching a 4 YO say that!

She is definitely not bullying anyone. You should watch how you word things because claiming someone is cyber bullying is very serious.
