@skiingstark I just finished up with everything for the CPA exam earlier this year. It is a serious PITA. If he's open to suggestions on study material, the NINJA stuff from another71.com might be more up his alley than the Becker and Yaeger type courses (and it's boatloads cheaper).
Given your description of him (and granting that you can't know someone very well from a quick internet description) I'm guessing he thinks sitting through lectures and reading the books is a waste of time or just something that he doesn't need to do and that's the main focus for most courses. Where I think the NINJA material shines is that there are really good outline notes (both in written and audio formats) for each section that can help you stay refreshed on the overall section and the explanations and resources with the multiple choice questions are better than any I've seen.
If you poke around on the forums (at another71.com) there are even some people that only use the MCQ's to study from because they do better when applying the material and if it's something they don't know/get wrong the resources that are immediately available on screen to get you through it are very in-depth (assuming you decide to click through them all and read them which is the only way I think you can manage only working MCQ's).
I've used material from Becker, Yaeger, and NINJA and NINJA is by far my favorite and it's what I ended up using exclusively when I seriously started studying and sitting for exams (I also passed each part the first time with it mostly using the Notes, Flashcards, and MCQ's because I'm not a big textbook reader either).
Yeah thanks for the suggestion! I will pass that along And yes that is him.
@bdesterhouse I'm a little late to this discussion but I thought I'd add my two cents. I would flip out on my husband if he judged my eating habits, but I would also never, ever judge his. I honestly don't know what he eats, unless we have a meal together. Because he is a grown adult human, and I trust him to take good care of himself. If he were judgmental of my food choices, I would assume that he didn't trust me to take care of myself and/or our baby. That's not a very good foundation for a marriage.
Ok, I don't give up @Gingersnap. I think the troops have been rallied and this is a positive afternoon for the pro-organization forces of F17. I also think I need to get just a smidge meaner.
Re: the food/ spouse question. This scenario (from a few days ago) pretty much sums up my marriage. "I'm going to get the seared ahi. I'm dying for some sushi" "You aren't supposed to eat that" "IDGAF, I'm getting it" "Babe, no." "I'm a grown woman and I'll do what I want!" ::orders a California roll::
@bdesterhouse I'm one of the ones who posted about my DH in TW and it was really more of a rant then he's actually controlling or telling me what to/what not to eat. (With the exception of my caffeine intake which we have now discussed in length on why he was inappropriate with his responses a couple weeks ago.) I know he means well and I want him to be able to discuss things with me if he feels I need to change something for the baby since I know it's really from him caring about the baby and trying to be involved too.
Him discussing it with me is OK, him telling me what to do or not to do is not. In my TW I wasn't really upset about him asking me not to take the unisom but more that he was being a jerk when I wasn't sleeping well since I disturbed his sleep. I know if I had told him I needed it he would understand and trust me to make the best decision. We were both cranky this morning and I'm glad I have a place like this where I can vent without actually getting too mad at him and letting it build up.
I try to treat him the same way. If I'm concerned at what he's eating or if he's doing something unhealthy I try to talk to him about it as a discussion where I'm concerned about his health but ultimately he gets the final say to decide what is OK for him. Before getting pregnant I was trying to also just be a healthy influence on him. So I'd cook healthier dinners for both of us and when he was having back pain and found some exercises that he found helped him I did them with him even though I didn't really need the back pain relief b/c it helped to motivate him to do it rather than give up. Lately I haven't been so good sadly but I'm tired and healthy food doesn't stay down...

Yeah, I may have to start bringing down the bitch hammer.
can someone with better drawing skills than me plz draw a bitch hammer? I think I need that tattooed on me somewhere... I'm envisioning a cross btw Thor's Mjolnir and Wonder Woman's lasso of truth...
@WinchesterGirl So I took out the crochet hook I had and some random yarn... I know the yarn tells you what size hook you need but I didn't have that info so I just went for it. I could not get the hook to pull through for some reason. I got it once or twice but I felt so uncoordinated! I'm going to try again tonight.
I actually responded to like 2 or 3 posts while lurking on the March board the other day. . .not realizing I was on the wrong board. I am always on mobile so no familiar signatures or anything to clue me on, lol. I thought with seemed chatty and off topic that day.

@marriedhamstermom your post just reminded me that I wanted to ask that question a few weeks ago and completely forgot to. I am always curious if things were flipped around how we as wives would handle the situations. I don't want anyone to think I was passing judgement, because I'm not - it's been a genuine curiosity.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
I'm having a hormone moment I think. Our loft is having tons of showings, and right before we had to leave for an hour to let them show it DH had to use the bathroom. I told him if it was going to be something smelly to spray some air fresher (y'know, the febreeze air effects sitting right on the back of the toilet). He comes outside just wreaking to high hell of cologne. Apparently he sprayed 3 spritzes in the bathroom. Our bathroom is the size of a phone booth and I'm sure it's horrible in there now. I'm so pissed, we want the place rented ASAP so we don't have to pay rent for September on top of our new mortgage. He just shrugged at me like it was no biggy. Not cool, dude.

@yogadevil haha, crap and cologne. Gross. If it makes you feel better, when we were house shopping we looked at a house that was having some repairs made while it was showing. I don't know what the repair guys had been eating, but both bathrooms smelled very freshly rank. It was pretty disgusting. We still wanted the house.
Regarding respect for a spouse and food choices... My husband won't tell me what to do, but he's naturally judgey. So I eat bad things in secret and then hide the evidence at the bottom of the trash. You know, like the mature and assertive woman I clearly am. Ha!
I have mentioned this like 80000 times because I'm excite. but we are going to palm springs in October for the desert trip concerts. we originally had booked a different weekend but got hooked up with tickets for the next weekend, so resold our first weekend tickets and switched our aribnb weekend with the people we were renting from. well they like confirmed that we switched and said they were going to call me to update the information and it's been like I dont know MONTHS and they still haven't contacted me. They've got 7 weeks to figure this shit out man.
Is anyone planning on going to one of those elective ultrasound places in the coming weeks to find out the sex of your baby before the AS? I considered it with my 1st pregnancy but held out and I'm now considering again. The places around me start out at 17 weeks and the price isn't too bad but I'm not sure I wanna spend the money or just be patient for an additional 3 weeks. Just curious if anyone is planning on going that route.

I thought about it but just decided to save the money and wait a few extra weeks. But it is so tempting!

Due to my advanced maternal age ::insert eye roll:: I get to have my anatomy scan at 18 weeks. I don't think we would have done it earlier otherwise.

We are considering it, but mainly because our families keep badgering us to attend an ultrasound and I would rather it was a fun frivolous one than a medical diagnostic one. Also the place near us has a TV and seats facing away from the table so less people gawking at my bare stomach.

Yep. We did last time and can't wait to go this time. I'll probably go at 16.5w.
@imalwaysme79 Mine is 18 weeks too but I'm not considered AMA. Do most people not have it at 18? I thought it was just a general 18-20 kinda thing.
I was initially told by my OB that it's at 20 weeks. The AS is with a different doctor at a different office and they said they prefer to do it as close to 18 weeks as possible.
