My dog is officially a twat waffle. Last night she chased one of our cats, and bit off the tip of her tail. I'm not even kidding, guise. Like a full 1/2 inch of her tail was just sitting on the floor, bone and all. In two years, the dog has always been very interested in the cats and has tried to play with them, but has never been aggressive. We don't know WTF to do.
We applied pressure to the tail to stop the bleeding, which was pretty much all the cat would let us do, then just let her be. When we turned in for the night, I made sure she was okay, which she was. She was hiding under the bed, but otherwise seemed fine. She hopped up on the bed after a few minutes, which she usually does, and I started petting her. Then she stood on me and peed through the comforter, sheets, my pajamas, and the mattress pad. WTF! We had to strip the bed and throw in laundry and remake the bed. At 11pm. Ugh. I suppose at least it didn't get on the mattress, since we don't have a waterproof cover on our bed.
So today I have to take the cat and what remains of her tail to the vet. She's probably fine, and there probably isn't anything they can do, but I want to be sure there's no permanent damage and it doesn't get infected.
Then we apparently have to start training our dog not to chase the cats. That should be interesting, considering neither cat wants anything to do with her anymore. FML.
OMG, @von1976 Poor kitty! Do you think the dog just got a little excited and was "playing" too hard? I hope the vet can give your cat something to make her feel better. I'm sure the little tail is sore

My MIL is a huge twatwaffle, but she always has been, so there's nothing new there. We haven't seen her all summer and she only lives 10 minutes away from us. She had the nerve to tell DH, yesterday, that we are keeping DD away from her and it's not right. EXCUSE ME? You haven't had a job since March, and have no intentions on having one. You haven't made one single attempt to stop by, or even offer to babysit for us since you've been off work (we have to take DD to my moms everyday while we work, 30 minutes away). You haven't asked how I'm doing, how's your future grandson, or offer to help with anything. She's a nut job that always plays the victim card. She uses and abuses her kids because she thinks they should take care of her. DH has lent her thousands of dollars and she would say that she would pay him back in a week or so. He hasn't seen a dime. She asked him to "gift" her a car (on his birthday) and when he laughed, she refused to talk to him for a full year. I could go on and on about this woman.
@mrskratt You could have written that about my MIL, word for word. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. This is our first and MIL lives about an hour away. She refuses to drive (which is probably a good thing since she's always high on pills) but then expects DH to drive down there and be her chauffeur. I can already here her blaming us for her not seeing this LO everyday. At least we have the excuse that she lives further away because we DO NOT want her around this baby any more than absolutely necessary. Not gonna happen!

@von1976 your poor cat! I hope the vet goes well and that she isn't in too much pain!
@mrskratt I always feel so bad for people with crappy in-laws. I hope once your LO is here, she will make an effort to be a part of their lives (if you even want her to).
Skinny pictures of myself are twat waffles. I miss being thin and cute.
OMG @von1976! Your poor kitty. I'd also wonder if maybe your pup didn't just get a little too rough with his play. If he had meant to really do harm, he probably would have. Fx it was just an accident and no major training or worry is needed!
@mrskratt your MIL sounds terrible! And I know that must be hrs to watch your H go through.
@MRSCORKER@sjo_thetwins I always get jealous of the people that have these awesome in-laws. I absolutely don't want her in my kids lives at all, I don't ever want her crazy to have an influence on them, so I don't usually care that she never makes an effort to come around. But don't sit there and make your son feel like absolute shit because you're the shitty person in this situation.
@von1976 Poor kitty. Let us know how the vet appt. goes please. Maybe she can offer you some advice on what to do about training or the dog? @mrskratt Your MIL sounds awful, I am so sorry.
MY TW is kind of petty but my SO has a gym member ship and they charged us $75 this month and I have no idea why because he pays $30 so now I have to go call them and I don't want to.
SO and I have been together: 5 Years+ BFP: 03/10 First Baby: 10/20/2016
Holy cracker @von1976 I don't know what I would have done if my dog did that, probably sat there and cried!
My twatwaffle seems so petty now - my husband is being a TW. He's creeping on my nesting and trying to do things his way to organize the nursery and I wanna do it!! It's my first week on mat-leave, so I have time. Especially since he doesn't care about the flow or logistics, he just wants it put away. What makes it worse is he'll start a project (ie sorting through all the clothes we got) and instead of finishing that project first, he will then start another one like putting together the vibrating chair we got. So now I have a mountain of clothes everywhere and a chair that was nicely compacted in a box. No wonder the room looks like a disaster! Now instead of the plans I had today, I have to go home and try to clean it up the way I want to or else he'll come home tonight and try to attack it again, just making it worse and more work for me later. *sigh* dumbass!
My boss is being the TW. We have done zero concrete planning for my maternity leave. I have less than 6 weeks left. Today, she invited herself to a meeting for a committee I'm managing where we are doing planning for the upcoming academic year. She's now critiquing my goals for the year and wanting to add in tons of objectives. When I asked her if we would have a staff person dedicated to managing any of these objectives in my absence (I'm the only staff member dedicated to alumni engagement) she basically said no but that I should still have a "vision" for the year. What the hell good is a vision if you have no plan to implement it? The committee is all volunteer, they're not going to take on new events, I'll be lucky if the infrastructure I've built up over the last two years even gets continued while I'm out, but you want to add in several new events?
@von1976 Holy shit, that's intense! My dog and cat fight a lot but never that bad. I'm with the others, hopefully it was an accident and your kitty is ok.
Mine should've been my Monday bitchfest but I wasn't on much yesterday and I'm still mad about it so UPS gets to be my twatwaffle Tuesday. I get a lot of stuff delivered and usually it's Fed Ex that's the lazy assholes that won't walk it to my front door and just pull into my driveway and leave it at my garage, even the tiniest of boxes. So if I weren't here and didn't know I would probably run over it on my way into the garage. But yesterday, that award went to UPS and it was my crib! It had been raining most of the morning before he got here and I thought surely they won't leave a crib, in a cardboard box, in the driveway where it might get rained on. Luckily, he was nice enough to blow his horn on the way out and I didn't see anything on my porch so I knew that's where he left it. I'm sure he thought how am I going to carry this big heavy crib down my sidewalk and up the 4 or 5 steps onto my COVERED front porch where it wouldn't get wet? Well how in TF do you think I'm gonna do it guy? I could've left it until my SO got home but I was afraid it was going to rain again and thankfully my 12 year old doesn't start school until tomorrow so he was here to help me. Ugh! I thought about calling and complaining but like I said, I get a lot of stuff delivered and I don't want to take the chance of everything being drop kicked before it gets here from now on.
@kelliott9091 I would've been pissed. Our UPS guy sucks too. We live in an apartment building and our packages hardly ever get delivered to our door. Its like the delivery man doesn't even bother coming up or is too lazy to ring our bell and have us come down to get our packages. its been plenty of times where we've stood home all day waiting on a package just to go outside later in the day or even the next day and find a "Sorry we missed you" note on the door to the main entrance of the building. Very Annoying and happens frequently
Thanks everybody. I'm just really stressed because my husband is now talking about rehoming our two cats or the dog. I love all of them and would rather not do that. I'm frustrated because he's talking to friends about taking our cats before we've even attempted training with the dog. He just doesn't understand why that upsets me so much.
My Dr office is being a TW --- just got a text from the automated service that our 4D growth scan has been canceled for tomorrow. 1. We were so looking forward to that 2. My poor mother changed her flight to yesterday so she could be here for tomorrow to come with us! UGH. 3. Now I'm on hold to get a new appointment. It better be SOON!!! So disappointed.

@von1976 - Poor baby! I don't like cats, but I hate to see any animal hurt! I hope she's okay!
@LauraPCOS - I have the same problem with my husband. He just wants everything put away, so I find all kinds of stuff in places where it shouldn't be. So annoying!

@CopperBoom86 after 12 min on hold --- it got changed to Monday and it's because the US Tech decided to call out for the next 2 days and cancel all her appointments. Sort of felt bad for the girl who had to reschedule everyone's appointments. She kept apologizing so I kept my attitude at bay. LOL

@von1976 I'm so sorry for you and your cat! As a cat person I would say get rid of that dog, but I know that any furbaby is beloved and part of the family. What do you do if one of your children hurts another? You can't really choose. I'm sure your cat will be fine. Medical care will help her heal better, but animals are pretty hardy and even if she was a stray that sounds like something she'd survive. We had a gerbil, incidentally, who lost the end of her tail once - she was getting away from me and I grabbed for her, got the end of her tail, and it came off. No bone, but the skin over the end came off (like a centimeter or so). She healed up (once we caught her!) Poor kitty though - needs extra love (or whatever means love to her - our cat would hate cuddles but appreciate tuna.)
@von1976 Aw, so sorry about your cat! And, just hoping your pup just got a little too rough while playing... Hopefully, once the whole situation settles down, your husband will cool down about rehoming any pets, you have enough going on, you can't think about losing one of your babies!!
@mrskratt@mrscorker - you guys should write down sell these MIL experiences - it's hard to believe they're real! I can't believe people act this way with their kids and grand-kids! I'm sorry you have to deal with them - my MIL has her annoying moments, but it sounds like I could be a lot worse off.
@sportiegrl1213 Glad you got your appt. rescheduled so soon! Will your mom still be around to go with you?
@LMNOBaby yes thankfully she will be here till the 30th. My shower is next Sunday so she was originally flying up for the 24th. So it all works out.

@mrskratt@MRSCORKER OMG at your mil stories!! I can only imagine what's coming when your new babies arrive... I am sorry you have to go through that'.
My twatwaffle is my Mil also, just now she's doesn't seem nearly as bad!! Haha. We have talked about moving to Henderson, Nevada for a long time (currently in Vancouver, bc) which our families have been long aware of too, and after spending the last 3 mos painfully & unsuccessfully house hunting here, dh casually mentioned us moving to NV to his mom. Her reply? "You're going you take my only grandson away from me??" ........ already she lives 2 hours away from us and refuses to move, so we don't see her all that much. I told dh that her text made me upset, and was manipulative and unfair, all things considered. He doesn't totally agree. So frustrating.
Can I nominate myself for yesterday? Spend the afternoon in L&D because I was cramping and having what I thought were strong BH contractions. Turns out it was a little bit of dehydration and the iron pills messing with my stomach that I was just told to start taking last week...and baby is moving from transverse to breech and back again and when he is transverse it makes my stomach very tight and painful and I think I was feeling like those were BH contractions. I am a STM- I should know better!
@serenaxo84 don't be so hard on yourself. I'm a FTM and I experienced those things a week ago and I was in the L&D too hooked up to IV. But I can imagine its scary even for a STM!.

Work is my TW, we have these special needs people that come into my shop usually in the day but they decided to come in right as I was cashing up, so I was serving another customer and they were asking me so many silly questions I ended up giving them the wrong change so we were down by £10, it's not a lot but work frown upon it, I have to practically usher the special needs people out of my shop because if I miss my bus it's a 2 hour wait for my next one ( I just managed to get it ) also the traffic on the way back was horrendous, sitting on a hot bus while trying not to have a breakdown isn't my idea of fun. Sorry this is long I just need to vent
@serenaxo84 Don't feel bad! I'm a STM mom, too. When I got dehydrated last weekend, I started to panic even though I knew I just needed to drink more water and relax. Then the next day, I started freaking out because I couldn't remember the last time I felt movement. Everything was fine, but those kind of moments are always scary!
@sportiegrl1213@mommathoner thanks ladies! I just felt like a dweeb! I think there were like 5 women in L&D that were just starting to go into actual labor...and here I am over here with gas haha! Oh well! Better to be safe then sorry!
Edit: Sorry closed out too early and at work! @sportiegrl1213 sorry you had to be hooked up to an IV that is scary! And @mommathoner- dehydration is the worst! I feel like we think we are drinking so much but forget how much we actually pee! Goes in and goes right out! I also get scared when I don't notice much movement!

So...you said "work" is your twatwaffle I'm sure to be PC, but this just comes across as you saying your TW is special needs people who somehow made you give people the wrong change, and hypothetically miss your bus which you didn't....
I think my TW for today is me. I have been so moody and achy and nesting that I'm pretty sure I've been sort of awful. We had our sprinkle last weekend and DD started 2nd grade today, so between trying to organize all the clothes and other stuff we got, and then prep for DD going back to school, I've been a mess. Oh, and our sink was clogged and we needed a pipe replaced (luckily my cousin does home improvements so we got it done on the cheap) but because of that we haven't been able to use the kitchen sink at all or use the dishwasher, which has made cooking difficult.
Wahwah to me. I'm hoping to be able to grab my big girl panties tonight and stop being such a whiner lol.
Countdown to Baby H! Mommy to Elizabeth (6/18/09), preemie at 34 weeks
My doctor's office is a TW. They called today to change my appointment for Thursday from 10:15 to 11:45 because they "double booked" the 10:15 time. Ugh. Now I'm worried because my mother-in-law was going to watch my son while I went to my appointment, but she has an appointment downtown at 1:30, so now I'm not sure I'll get back before she needs to leave. I get that things happen, but how did they not know about this problem earlier?
Re: Twatwaffle Tuesday 08.16.2016

Then we apparently have to start training our dog not to chase the cats. That should be interesting, considering neither cat wants anything to do with her anymore. FML.
