After reading the great info on cloth diapers on here, it got me thinking about disposable diapers and what I should use for my baby.
So for all of you peeps who already have kids, what disposable diapers did you guys love? Which did you hate? What are the good value diapers? And what are the most eco friendly disposable diapers, for those us moms who cant/wont do cloth but do not want to leave a big foot print?
Thanks!

Re: Disposable Diapers
Honest diapers are the absolute worst. They didn't last my kid an hour without pee getting everywhere.
That being said other people swear by Huggies. I don't know of anyone who had good experiences with store brands. (Every store brand I tried gave my daughter a rash) We don't have any other large brands available in most stores here. I tried the honest company one day while visiting someone who had a bunch, I was not impressed.
For disposables, we used the Target brand during the day and Pampers overnight. But we also didn't have a massive pee-er on our hands. From what I've seen with other kids, some babies can generate insane amounts of pee (or mind-boggling amounts of poop) so that pretty much every diaper change is a loaded diaper change.
I think if you have sensitive skin, it might be worth it just to buy a sample pack (or ask mom friends for a few?) of the cheaper brands to check if your kid gets irritated skin from them.

Also size wise my little one was able to wear newborn diapers for a couple of months. He has always been tall and skinny. But as others have said stores are really good at exchanging them out if they are unopened.
I second the advice to hold off on opening boxes until you know they'll fit til they're finished!
As for footprint honest I'd probably a good option. I don't know a lot on that front myself. But the honest diapers are adorable!!!

When my daughter wasn't in cloth (certain babysitters and daycare) we used Huggies. They have an elastic back which helps if your LO is an explosive pooper. Pampers gave my daughter a horrible burn like rash, so we never used them.

do you guys want to see a cute butt? I was spiraling on pictures the other day.
Walmarr diapers suck.
definitely look into subscribe and save on Amazon! You can get some good deals and they are delivered to your door which is nice.
Luvs worked well and I would have considered using for an older baby, but I liked the wetness indicator on the swaddlers when DD was a newborn so I could keep better track of wet/dirty diapers.
I don't have as strong opinions about diapers as I do wipes. I HATE cheap wipes. I use Huggies sensitive. I have a pack of target brand right now and I'm hating life.
I've never been a huge fan of Huggies, they always leaked for some reason.

They will be forever missed.
So Pampers might work great for us, but you might find a different brand that works better for you. If I recall correctly, we got a minimum of Pampers and Huggies samples. I would recommend checking different brand websites for samples. We started with cheaper brands and worked our way up to the more expensive when those failed. I would suggest doing the same if funds are limited. Economy size boxes are also a good way to save. Huggies and Pampers both have rewards programs that are worth signing up for.
Keep in mind that you will also likely receive at least a box or bag of newborn diapers at your baby shower. More than one person may get it for you, but I don't think I've attended a baby shower where someone didn't buy some diapers... If you have a baby in a hospital, they will also send you home with at least a partial bag.
