  • @AshleySparkle720 congrats!!!! Yay a for moving in!
  • So my baby brother, who just turned 12, told me the other day 'Wow! You are really starting to show! But to strangers you're just going to look fat..."

Oh dear brother, I do love how honest you are. lol I know he doesn't mean it in a bad way, we have a really close relationship.

  • @hj.morgan My brother is 14 and has taken to saying "Whoa! You're bigger every time I see you!"
  • Congrats on the new houses @AshleySparkle720 and @vgempis!!

The weekend went by fast but I got a lot done so I at least felt accomplished.  I even cleaned out the freezer and added some new food for the next couple months!

  • @TinaBelcher My really close friend just started trying last month, and I'm so excited for her. Like you, I hope it's super fast and easy for them. We have one other friend with a 2 month old, and I feel like it would be such fun to have a bunch of babies hanging around!

  • Wasn't sure where else to put this and didn't want to start a new discussion.

My DH finally agreed to finding out the gender...if we don't do another J name. O_O I'm torn! A name is permanent...forever...4 J boys and 1 not?! Ahhhh 10days to decide...

Is anyone else having trouble deciding whether to find out or not?

Ugh! As much as I would love to find out next week, I just don't think I could live with the no J name lol. I would think the 5th boy would be confused and/or hurt as to why we didn't give him a J name?!

  • I didn't think I wanted to find out the sex until I settled on my name choices and then I really wanted to know. If I don't get some practice in with the real name I just might end up calling this baby Cletus out of habit lol.

FWIW my two older brothers have names that start with C and my name starts with M. It never bothered me. If your new LO is a girl I don't think it would be that weird to not have a J name. If it's another boy that's a little harder.

That is tough! If it would be a girl I think it would be fine if you didn't do a J  name, but I definitely see where you're coming from with the possibility of it being the only boy who isn't a J name.  I'm guessing your husband doesn't think it would be a problem?

  • @karaelaine1991 no, a girl we had a name picked out the last 2 times and it wasn't a J, just the possibility of a boy...gah. DH does not think it's a problem at all! I can't understand his reasoning other than being forced into a pattern that he doesn't like lol.

Lol I'd say that at this point the pattern has been established and he's gotta stick with it!

  • Exactly! That is how I feel! Ugh, so hard to decide. Maybe if we talk names and I fall in love with a different boy name and do a J middle name I could live with it...maybe...just all this stress, is it worth knowing for 4months vs forever name lol

  • @mommywesley I have a friend with 5 boys- 4 L names and the last one is an H name. It's NBD for them, the youngest is I think 2 now? People commented when he was first born and then it just died down
  • @TinaBelcher thank you for sharing that! That makes me feel a bit better...

  • @mommywesley that's a hard decision!! If I were you I would try to keep working on my husband up until the end to have another J name (because that's what you want). He could change his mind.  Gosh I don't know though. Which is more important to you?  J name or finding out the sex?
  • Does anyone have recommendations for online sites for maternity dresses appropriate for a wedding (especially if it comes in sizes that fit big boobs)? I'm the MOH in my best friend's wedding in less than a month, and I pushed off looking for a dress until now because I wanted a better idea of what size I would be. I've looked around locally in Germany but have been striking out (and ordering online here is such a pain in the ass- if you aren't home to greet the delivery person your package will end up at a neighbors, and there won't always be a note telling you which neighbor). So I'm resigning myself to ordering a bunch of stuff to my in-laws in PA, and hoping something fits. I'm so uninspired by Pink Blush right now :/

If I remember correctly from my own wedding,  stores like David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo do offer some maternity options for both brides and bridesmaids. Their options are probably limited, but it's something that's worth looking into! I know they do have reasonably priced dresses; all of my bridesmaids were able to find something for under $150.

    ETA here you go!

  • @moosette113 I got a regular dress from David's bridal and had it altered.

This. It sounds like the J name is very important to you. Am I reading this right, that if you remain team green, then you get your J name? I'd go with that. The name is forever. Waiting only lasts a few months.

Andplusalso, team green is awesome ;)

  • @LastMango I haven't officially got the yes for a J name if we wait, but I feel confident he would agree to do a J if we did. And that's what I'm thinking, a name is forever, is it worth the "risk" only to find out 4 months early? Lol

And I totally agree, team green is awesome! We were team green the last 2x and I loved it...I'm leaning that way again. I'm just so sick of gender neutral stuff!

  • Thanks @ThePax89 and @karaelaine1991. I'm only going to be stateside a week before the wedding, but if all else fails I'll get myself to a David's Bridal the day I land to see what they can do for me.

  • @moosette113 try Macy's and Nordstrom, Asos has a weird selection but their nicer dresses are great, I think Top Shop has some more formal options?

If you are able to order from them online (I know it used to be possible because I got a prom dress from them that way), I'd look into that. Otherwise, you'll be limited to their in-store selection and from what I recall,if you end up needing alterations from something in store, it can take a long time, like definitely over a week, unless you want to pay an arm and a leg to have it rushed.  My bridesmaids ordered from Alfred Angelo, but for them to get, for example, a different color dress from what they had in store, there was a 6-8 week turn around. One of my bridesmaids had to get some pretty extreme alterations done on her dress (needed a size 14 bust and a size 6 waist) and that added even more time on.  So if you decide to go with either of those stores (because I'd imagine David's Bridal's policies are similar), I'd order online ASAP if possible to save you time and hopefully money. Good luck!

I just teared up watching Shirley Temple clips on YouTube with DD because she is now the 4th generation of little girls in my family to love Shirley Temple.

Pregnancy hormones are no joke. But seriously, my grandma is going to be over the moon when she sees the video I just sent her on Snapchat of DD watching Shirley Temple.

  • We found out this weekend that DH's cousin and her husband are moving to the same town as us! They have a 5 month old and I think they'll be having another one in the next couple of years.  I'm so excited that our kids will all get to grow up together.  Only DH's BIL has a kid and we barely see them even though they live 30 min away (that's a whole other story).  I was close with my cousins growing up and I was worried that my kids wouldn't have a similar experience.  I also really like DH's cousin and her husband so I'm doubly happy.

  • I hate pregnancy dreaming.  I really don't remember it being like this with DD1 and DD2.  It feels like all night and they are so not restful--like last night I was trying to avoid a past fling that I'd had right before meeting DH.  He and his SO were at a work function with me and DH...except he was also an olympic swimmer.  And then later I was involved in some fight against a billionaire murderer but he was trying to frame us.    This does not make me feel rested in the morning!
    DD1 (2008) DD2 (2010), #3 (DH's first bio kid) on the way in January 2017!
Almost always mobile bumping--forgive my typos. :)
