@dax28 I went through the scanners when I was pregnant and still had a healthy baby. This is from the TSA website:
"TSA’s Advanced Imaging Technology and walk through metal detector systems do not use X-rays to produce the image, but instead use non-ionizing electromagnetic waves that are reflected off the body. According to research conducted by the Center for Devices and radiological Health of the Food and Drug Administration, it is safe for everyone, including pregnant women, to go through these machines."
However, if you are still skeptical, just request the pat down. It's their job and they do it all the time. I would just allow extra time for that in case they are busy.
@Dax28 just get a pat down. Honestly, it really isn't a big deal and doesn't cause a scene. A lot of people request them. It may take a few minutes longer because they might pull you aside and make you wait until someone is available. And, if you feel weird just tell them you are pregnant and being cautious. I don't think anyone will judge you for that.

I went through the scanners when I was 18 weeks and everything was fine. But I have since decided that I am hesitant to trust the source of the TSA's research. This isn't to say that it is potentially unsafe. I have not found any research suggesting such. I do think you should get a pat down if you are concerned in any way. Peace of mind rules in something like this.
Thanks for all the good info and messages. I think I will do the pat down mostly for my own sanity, DH agrees and does not want me to stress out if not necessary.
