Give me all the salt!!!! And then random bouts of candy cravings. And salad. Oh how yummy salad sounds.
  • The only salad I want is 99's fire grilled cobb salad... omg yummmmmm
  • Those cheap Totino's pizzas have been my dinner every night this week...I also bought two 1/2 gallons of chocolate milk...I don't get enough calcium so I figure this is a better way for me to incorporate it into my body.  I'm not loving meat right now...mostly carbs

  • @npaulie Same here, re: usually being a veggie person. My husband used to make fun of me for wanting 2-3 different types of veg with every meal. Now he's bribing me to eat one little serving pleeeeease...like I'm a damn toddler. I found that carrots/celery with hummus both go down OK, and I can sneak some kale into a smoothie if I put in enough banana and pineapple juice. Those are the two best solutions I've got right now. Luckily fruit is still somewhat appetizing, so I'm leaning hard on berries, apples, and bananas.

  • I appear to be the only person needing french fries to survive... Every other day I am eating fries. Ugh!

Anything particularly bland seems to be the most appealing. Fruit and veggies all day if I can source enough of them in the house!
  • I managed to force myself to choose a salad today for lunch. It was really delicious and and I was feeling proud of myself for eating something healthy.

Now I just want to throw it back up. Apparently, baby doesn't like kale.

  • @dubcompanion

I totally almost had the chicken cheesesteak on an italian roll with carmelized onions and melted American cheese and french fries.

But, no, I had kale. effing kale.

  • @RunBooRun<3 you but I might be with your baby on this.
  • @Runboorun I think my baby and your baby are on the same page...I cant eat a vegetable for the life of me. DH made me pasta last night and put asparagus and zucchini in it and I basically just picked around the veggies.

@ashannon3490 If you're craving something vinegary like pickles this is a nice twist on that. You know the craploads of tomatoes you get from the garden this time of year? It's a great way to stretch them. Chop up some onions, green bell peppers, and tomatoes and put them in a container filled with vinegar and NOT olive oil (that turns it brown for some reason) but vegetable oil. You can add seasonings like basil or whatever if you like. Delish. Kind of like cucumber salad but with tomatoes and peppers instead. It's vinegar, so it keeps for a loooong time in the fridge, so if you start it earlier in the summer you can just keep adding to it as you eat it.
@Phil413 Thus has stuck with me since I read it and I woke up thinking about it. I'm on my way to the grocery store to get all the ingredients and make this for breakfast. What is the ratio of vinegar to oil you recommend? Thanks!

@Burrberrymum Wtf are pickled cheese knots? Sounds amazing....
Oh just the saltiest best thing ever! I wonder how many people don't know it exists!? (Picture off google)

Like Phil's tomato salad, I woke thinking of these and how I might get them. I'm sad to report I've found the only thing you can't get on Amazon Prime. (Also, I think the broke the search function on Amazon...a garlic press and dog toys? Wtf???)
  • @onefootinthebayou I had to drive across town last night to find some, it took me 3 different stores before I did. I'm not sure if it's just a Canadian thing (like cheese Curds if I'm not mistaken) but I know our closest cheese factory always has some! If you're in Canada and have a "No Frills" grocery store, that's the only place that carries them around where I am, other than the very odd convenience store! I swear, totally worth it if you love salty!
  • Just wanted to share my newest food discovery: Thai Iced Tea flavored ice cream. Omg. So good. It's a hundred million degrees in NYC today so this was mandatory!
  • Cherry pie and vanilla ice cream. Made a special trip to the store just for that.
  • ice cream sandwiches, melon, crackers and pretty much everything all the time.

  • @KateM I'm with you on the fries! Normally I'm kind of meh on them but lately the saltiness totally hits the spot. This week I go back and forth between sweets and salty snacks. I also have some Luigi's Italian ice pops that I got at Sam's Club that usually hit the spot well between the slight sweetness and helping beat the heat.
