  • Sleep regretion ,, how much longer will it last I thought sleepless nights were over,, and the hair loss is horrible
  • The hair loss is crazy

Sleep was never great but he's restless way more now.  Ditching the swaddle now before this regression is over.
  • I feel like I'm going bald! I also hate having to vacuum my bathroom floor more now that I'm losing my hair. I have definitely pulled a hair out of LO's mouth after it was stuck to his paci. Oops.
  • We're inching closer to having to ditch the rock n play. And I'm scared! DD absolutely won't sleep laying flat.

Yes the hair loss is ridiculous! Its everywhere! Also LO enjoys grabbing my hair every chance he gets and he has a death grip on it. Ouch! He is so interactive now, which is awesome...but.....he needs constant entertainment.  Sometimes he can play by himself for about 10-15 minutes and I can actually wash dishes or put a load of laundry on.
I'm running out of ideas for the 2 hours of constant entertainment before it's time for a nap!

A couple of times I found a hair in LO's diaper. :flushed: I'm so paranoid of hair tourniquets!

That's one + for having older children. They entertain the baby a lot.... sometimes not even meaning to. She just watched them play and run around. Lol

Exactly! I don't have to entertain at all. The other 3 provide way more than I ever could.

  • @redselig. Yes! I love playing with LO, but I do run out of ideas and he gets bored with the same things. I admit sometimes I look forward to nap time! I think it'll be a bit easier once he can sit up by himself, maybe he'll be able to entertain himself a little more.

I don't think they care if we keep repeating the same "activities".  :p

  • My LO doesn't really require much entertainment. He is awake for about 90 minutes (including bottle) and after I do an extended changing time (complete with games and silly songs), read a book, practice/encourage side-lying and supervise tummy play, he's very content to hang out by himself in his gym or on a blanket (either playing with toys or just looking around) for 15-20 minutes until he gets sleepy. He seems to enjoy having alone/free play time, plus it gives me more time to get things done!

I totally agree on the hair. It's freaking EVERYWHERE.
  • I dont have older children to entertain my LO and it gets tough at times, so when I get bored and she gets bored I put her in the corner of the sofa where she can sit up and I dance and sing for her...she LOVES it...an added bonus, I get some excercise as my husband likes to refer to my backside as a "mommy butt". LOL
  • Hair, oh hair!! Pregnancy time was great for my hair. But now, im scared of even bathing. It aches to see the fallen ones floating away in to the tub abyss....
  • ...the laundry is endless. I was already doing laundry once every three days because I cloth diaper but now I have extra loads because everything is covered in drool. I really underestimated the amount of bibs, burp cloths and towels I needed.

  • I can't ever leave my hair down again. He loves grabbing it. Hello mom bun.
This made me laugh. I am in the exact same boat. I haven't had my hair in anything other than a mom bun since she has been born.

My hair is too short of a mom bun! I thought it would be easier to keep it short, but I was wrong. Definitely trying to grow it out a little so I can throw it up in a mom bun.

Yup, I have lived in a ponytail for the last 4 months.

Mom buns are the best! My hair is almost the longest it's ever been and I LOVE that I can put it up so easily without pinning. I only have to wash twice a week because it stays so clean in a bun.

All of this. And the fact that it falls out by the fistful, I may be bald if I wash it more frequently.

GAH this too! I lose a ton every time I wash it. When does this end?!

For me, it lightens up after 4 mos and is done by 6 mos.

Here's to hoping. DS is 4 months tomorrow. Fortunately I have a decent head of curly hair and it's not noticeable to others...yet. I can tell though.

I had super thick curly hair before I got pregnant, around 6 months I could hardly run a comb through it because it had gotten so thick. Now I feel like I'm going bald, but like you said, no one else is noticing yet. It looks like there is a small dog in the bottom of the tub every time I wash my hair though because so much is falling out. YUCK!
  • I basically go bald at the temples, and while the hair loss ends at 6 mos, I have funny looking, spiky new hair growth around my face for a couple months after that. But, if you get pregnant then, your hair will probably grow faster and get you through this stage more quickly.

    Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

  • LO is so not interested in rolling over! He's almost 19 weeks. He was going front to back a couple times when he was 2 months and now nothing. He is quite chunky so maybe that's it but my best friends baby is a couple weeks younger, is chunky too and rolls. We do plenty of tummy time but he just gets mad!

We're the same here. He's the least motivated baby of our four. He used to just lick the blanket when if put him on his belly. Now, he at least lifts his head briefly before realizing that being on his tummy makes it easier to put his hands in his mouth.

  • Same here. My son will do it very rare. He thinks its too much consumption of energy. He would rather just play, observe, listen and talk. And he hates tummy time. Will move the entire 360 degrees in annoyance and irritation.

And he absolutely LOVES swaddling. He won't sleep without it. I had to make so many cloth swaddles for him because he wants to nap and sleep in them only. I'm not rushing to get rid of them. If he likes them, im happy with his sleeping.
  • We've hit the dreaded sleep regression!  Little man won't nap for longer than 10 min at a clip, not that he was a huge napper before but at least we would get 30-40 minutes out of him.  Last night he woke up twice in the night.  The first time I think he startled himself awake, after 10 minutes I was able to soothe him to sleep.  He woke up again later for about 45 minutes, not wanting a bottle though, was just awake looking around wanting a snuggle.  I'm thankful he's a happy boy, here's to hoping this passes quickly!

I was up five times last night and LO has also started fighting naps

  • I just thought we had hit the sleep regression last week. I was wrong. He has been startling himself awake at least once an hour if not more. He's much harder to put down right now, too, and he already hated naps.
  • My LO will not roll over! He did a few times around 2 months and now wants nothing to do with it. He hangs out for a while on his back but doesn't last long on his tummy. I've tried distracting him with toys or talking to him when he gets fussy but still will not roll over. My SO thinks it's because he's chunky. I think he's just lazy. He's 19 weeks

Mine is also 19 weeks. She is rolling but hates it when she gets on her tummy if she can't get right back to her back. She's rolling less now than she did a month ago.

At least you know he can do it.
  • 18 weeks tomorrow and hasn't rolled
    over once.
  • Mine figured out how to roll onto her stomach and now she won't stop. She tries to roll during diaper changes, getting dressed, while she's in her swing, while I'm holding her (wtf!), in her car seat...

When she gets to her belly, she starts yelling. Not crying, just yelling. Constantly. If I roll her over, she rolls right back to her belly and starts yelling again. It's ridiculous.

Mine will roll over once when I first put him down, as if to get it out of the way. Then when I put him down again, he will shove his hands in his mouth and examine whatever is beneath him for the next half hour with zero interest in rolling or even rocking. He has shown me that he has the physical ability to do it, but absolutely no drive.

It's also like he forgets sometimes, because sometimes days will go by with no rolling at all... Just frustrated complaining. Because he was born early and spent some NICU time, we qualified for a grant program that lets your baby go to the child development center at a local hospital and meet with the therapists there to monitor the baby's progress. They noted he had some tension in his legs and increased muscle tone there compared to his hands. Recommended some "baby yoga" type stretches for his legs to help him roll, and bicycle kick type movements for his arms as well before beginning tummy time to enhance his mobility.

I've noticed he tolerates it more now, but no real increase in rolling.

Haha, this was LO about a month ago. The minute I put him down somewhere he would start to roll. It got frustrating when it was time for bed since he kept on rolling and wouldn't settle. :confounded:
