The insomnia is sooooo real. I woke up around 4 and just could not turn my brain off. Then my hips hurt so bad, I could only get a nap in laying on the couch, on my left side, with my right leg swung across my body and propped up on pillows on the back of the couch so that it was basically in the air.
These leg cramps I get when I first wake up suck! I used to only get them if I didn't drink enough water the day before, but now it's a daily occurrence
@LauraPCOS Your picture finally loaded on my phone. Ouch! That does not look comfy!! I hope you were able to take those off and stretch your toes for a bit!
Thank goodness my boss caved and let me wear flip flops. I think she realized my feet must be bad if I want to wear sandals while doing pedicures, because that's pretty risky. Lol
@krzyriver sorry to hear the carpal tunnel curse hit you too...did you try the wrist braces with hard support thing? My thank-you's are haunting me...
@scostel2 if I'm getting the mental image right, that's my favorite sofa position, especially lately! I'm trying to hold out on sleeping in the glider but don't know how much longer I can wait
@UponAStar16 I had carpal tunnel before actually. Downside of doing nails for a living. I haven't dug my braces out yet though. I have a pair somewhere that I never wear because I hate them, but it's definitely bad enough now that I need them. I guess I'll do that today. Lol
@krzyriver the carpal tunnel is killing me. I've had it for a while now, but this past week it has gotten horrible. I do wear the wrist splints at night, but they're not even touching the pain. And now, it's bothering me throughout the day, too. Funny story: the other night I was up trying to get the carpal tunnel pain to go away, probably at least an hour. Our beagle had gotten up and I thought he was going to be an asshole and make me take him out in the middle of the night, but I told him to lie down and he did (which he never does)! Snuggled right onto my pillow, all cute like he likes to be. I propped my arm on him and the CT went away like magic. So a few hours later, when my husband was getting up, he asked me how I slept, and I mumbled something like, "I slept awful, but then Matty helped my CT go away and I slept a little bit!" He thought I was crazy until I explained what actually happened later that night. Have been unable to duplicate whatever it was I did, so it must just be beagle magic.
@annabenanna I'm ready to just direct deposit my paycheck to Carter's. I can't stop giving them all my money.
I feel like garbage today. DH and I went out for a huge meal at a steakhouse for his birthday last night and I ate too much. This morning I was still full and felt nauseous, but managed to get two hard boiled eggs down around 9:30. I haven't had anything since (it's 1:30 now), but I know I need to eat or I'm going to feel worse later. I felt this way a month or so back and didn't eat (because I felt full) and then got really sick. But, nothing sounds good at ALL.
I'm also worried that I feel so bad because of GD. I failed my one hour (by one point) and have my 3-hour on Wednesday. Now, I'm all in my head thinking, "maybe it's the carbs from last night and I really do have it."
Plus my tailbone is KILLING me sitting at work. I'm trying to work while standing every hour, but I don't feel well enough. Wah...I want to go home.
@F47 I feel your pain. I failed my 1 hour by 2 points and have to have the 3 hour on tuesday. We are doing mine intravenously because my gag reflex is so bad I'm afraid I'll vomit the glucose drink. I'm so scared of failing!
@LizaKate1213 Yeah, that 100 G drink is not easy to keep down. I had to do this when I was pregnant with DH. I kept the drink down, but I passed out twice in that 4 hours at the doc. Ugh. Dreading it.
This probably doesn't help but I ate all the carbs and sugar and felt just fine, but apparently have GD. So I don't think that how you feel is necessarily an indicator. (Also the drink? Didn't bother me at all.)
@LauraPCOS oh no! I live in flip flops! The humidity here here has been so unbearable lately, I wouldn't survive a second outside in sneakers.
I'm trying to live in sandals - my flip flops are becoming too tight so I'm looking for a cheap pair I can buy a size bigger, and I also keep trying to wear my birks for the extra support, but they're getting tight too. I'm just trying to survive one more day of work!
@AllyTheKid After that picture, I went to my car and put on my birks (minus socks of course, cause ya!). I've been drinking so much water I feel sick with it, but I know I have to suck it up with this heat, and trying to put feet up on uncomfortable plastic chairs, but again I try.
My saving grace.....cool baths when I get home. Literally sit in the tub for an hour
I sneezed and was sitting cross legged on the couch. Was too slow to uncross my legs so I didn't sniss. Since that didn't happen I pissed on my own couch. FML these days.

My hips have gotten SO bad. Aside from everything hurting and being unable to roll over without tears they are now popping. I guess I'm going to be on the hunt for a chiropractor soon, I'll have to talk to my MW about a referral.
I'm also waking up drenched in sweat with a horrible dry mouth. I'm freaking dehydrating at night so I'm chugging water all day and night. I'm not sure if it's hot flashes or the weather, but if we go for baby 3, I'm planning to be giant in the end of winter. A June baby and an October baby are both in hot weather.
Cried today for like an hour because my feet were swollen and my bump keeps me from getting comfortable all while SO just looked at me like I WAS the big baby and not the one in my tummy. lol

Does anyone do prenatal yoga to alleviate symptoms? I do a few really good ones that help my tailbone pain immensely. They're on YouTube. I just search "Katie Appleton Pregnancy Yoga." I like Episode 2, but they're all pretty good. And only 10 minutes.

Do they ever go away? Are they supposed to shrink back up on their own? I had one when I was younger and it obviously went away but I feel like I've had one this pregnancy since week 15 and it's not going anywhere. Off to google.
@krzyriver Some of her videos are very gentle and beginner-friendly. Episodes 1 and 3, particularly, if I remember correctly. I almost always do #2 because it helps alleviate my pain the most. The poses in that series aren't advanced, but they're difficult to hold/require a lot of leg muscle. I was super into fitness before BFP and still work out pretty regularly with weights. And, I still find it quite challenging. But, you can always modify. And, like I said, the workouts are only 10 minutes and I feel SO much better after. I would give some of them a go.
Added bonus: the lady has a lovely, relaxing voice and British accent. ;-)
@chriscasey33 TMI: My hemorrhoids shrank down, but have never fully gone away. Now my butthole is scarred and looks like a starfish that FI and I refer to as Patrick. But I had them BAD, like a cluster of grapes being the only thing I can compare them to. You may get lucky and have them go away completely if you only have one or two small ones. I sincerely wish your rectum the absolute best of luck!
I feel like he has gotten really heavy to carry in the last week or so. It's really only when I'm standing up and walking around, but sometimes I feel like I have to hold my stomach up with my hand when I'm walking. Teaching will be fun in 2 weeks!
@coffee89 Ugh, I'm sorry about your hip situation... Some of the ladies have mentioned the chiropractor has done wonders, though. Hopefully that helps! Just be sure to find a preggo-friendly one...
AND, can I wholeheartedly agree with having a winter baby next time?? As it hits 97 and feels like 106 with the humidity here in NJ this week, every day I drive home doing the math "So, if I get pregnant in April next time, then I'll be huge and deliver sometime in December/January...or maybe I should shoot for February." Though, if my hot flashes make a reappearance, it won't really matter what time of the year it is...
@AllyTheKid lol @ Patrick. I won't let DH get a close enough look at my butthole to come up with a nickname. He knows I'm already sensitive to that area because I had a colorectal surgery 10 years ago to fix an idiopathic abscess turned fistula. The doctor keeps telling me my previous patient history won't be a problem, but they also haven't had a chance to obtain and go over my past records. I'm really hoping labor doesn't complete destroy me. I'd be happy to end up with just one hemo that will hopefully shrink down. Yay butthole problems. Good luck to all our rectums!

@chriscasey33 You may want to bring this up with your doctor again. I have a history of vaginal fistulas (Crohn's Disease), and because of them, my OBs have insisted on c-sections. They're worried that the strain of labor may cause the fistulas to re-open, which could cause potentially life-threatening complications. Your fistulas may be very different, but I'd push the issue and make sure they've reviewed your records. Good luck!
