Which name is your favorite?

Hi guys! We are pretty set on a 1st name for a boy, but are completely stuck on a name for a girl...our first daughter's name is Eliana, and we often call her Ellie...I know there's a baby name board but that is more impersonal...I put our possible middle names in parentheses next to a couple of them, but we're not married to them...suggest others that you think we might like if none are your style...thanks in advance!

Oh, our last name starts with the letter "O" and is Spanish-sounding (ends in "la")

I like Brooke Elizabeth but I'm being biased because one of or name choices was Brooklyn Elizabeth.

One thing to consider is that, if we go with Brooke, her initials will be BO....I don't think it's a big deal, but some people do...

I would go with Tessa Elizabeth. The girl name I loved (before finding out this baby is a boy) was Tessa Lauren.

If we have a girl, our top choice is Teresa Elizabeth and we'd call her Tessa... So obviously I picked Tessa

I voted Melia but I also love Camilla just as much. Malia was actually a name I would of loved for a girl it is similar to yours. We are having a boy tho.
Camille is another similar one that I love.

I don't personally like the name Brooke. Elizabeth is very nice. Maybe Corinne? Elise? Irene? Catherine?

There's something about Melia that sounds TOO similar to me to Eliana. Maybe the "el" sound and the fact that they both end with a. They seem like kind of a mouthful together for some reason. Also, I for one VERY closely associate the name with the Obama family. So take that for whatever it's worth.

Think all the other names are good. I voted for Camilla but I also like Brooke.

the BO thing is no big deal. My kid's initials are BM.....so, I hear ya.

Another vote for Tessa Elisabeth! I also like Melia but had the same reservations as @KimmySchmidt - too similar to Eliana and immediate association with Obama. I'm curious - what is the boy name you've settled on?

My baby girl's name will be Brooklyn and we are calling her Brooke, so that one got my vote!

Ooh I was reading Melia to sound like "amelia" without the A.. so Mee-lee-ah. I'm not a fan of it even if it's pronounced more like Malia with already have an Ellie. I voted Brooke, I don't think B.O. is a big deal for initials.. I'm more concerned when the 3 initials really spell something out. Like PMS or ASS, for example.

I also see Melia (Malia) and immediate think Obamas. I really like the name Tessa, and while it's not unheard of, it's also not super popular, which I also like.

@lissvarna It makes my eye twitch when I see it spelled like that...it's a Hawaiian word for Plumeria and, in Hawaiian, it's with the "e"

Any suggestions for middle names for Brooke...I would like one with lots of syllables like Elizabeth....what about for Camilla?

I like the name Camilla but don't love that Brooke ends with the same letter sound that Camilla starts with - there isn't enough separation in my mind. But I agree that a one-syllable first name is best paired with a multiple-syllable middle name... How about Olivia, Isabella or Natalia?

I personally like Melia but that's because I am naming my daughter Malia. I am not a fan or Elizabeth but never have been. I Brooke but feel like people could turn that into baby talk to easy and for far to long and baby talk drives me nuts.

@noelani42 we decided on Brooke Annabelle for baby #3. Although after she was born we decided Brooke didn't fit her and she became Macy Annabelle.

I agree with the PP that I don't like the sound of when one name ends with the same sound that starts the next name. Brooke ends with such a hard sound, I think it flows best with a name that starts with a vowel, personally.

Here goes my privacy lol, but my name is Camilla. I grew up in Denmark and it was super popular (nr 1 name my birth year and the following 10 years) but after moving to the States I kind of love it. It is different, but easy for people to pronounce. You will have a LOT of people think her name is Camilia or Camille.

I voted Melia which could honestly also be a NN for Camilla (I went by Mille as a child) because I felt weird voting for my own name lol.
