    STUCK IN THE BOX

    1) How far along are you? 33 weeks

    2) How are you feeling? Like crap. Timeable contractions every night for 2-3 hours, but not strong enough to really be anything.  I've definitely crosses the line to looking like I'm going to pop at any second.

    3) Rants/raves?  I had some more intense contractions one night last week and called the next day just to ask about where the line is since I'm still pretty early and don't want to linger too long if it is something they can stop.  Was basically told not to do anything since activity is increasing the contractions, which is impossible with a toddler.  So I feel guilty about doing too much and guilty about not spending enough time with my son and guilty about him having to share the attention and me not getting to spend enough time with him once these babies are born.  It was quite the slippery slope with many tears, and I still don't know what to do about it all.

    4) Questions? Nope

    5) Do you have and induction/c-section date set yet? No. I won't go past 37 which is 9/6 but no firm plans.  Still shooting for a vaginal birth.  B is lower and head down, a seems like she flipped back head down but who knows anymore.

    6) What do have left to do to get ready for LOs? Install the car seats and set up the pack n play in our room, but I won't do that until we are at a point where they would come home right away.

    7) What has been your favorite part of this pregnancy?  My son really likes snuggling my belly and it's pretty adorable!

  • 1) How far along are you?

    36 + 3

    2) How are you feeling?

Tired and I've had a migraine since last night, but not bad, considering!

    3) Rants/raves?

    I can't believe I'm almost full term!

I do want to smack DH for saying "it's not a baby bump anymore, it's a baby basketball!" the other day, though.  My doctors and u/s techs (and random strangers) keep saying I'm small for twins, but DH, his mom and sister just keep commenting on how I look like I swallowed a basketball.  Not a fan.

    4) Questions?

    Nope.

    5) Do you have and induction/c-section date set yet?

No.  If Baby B is still feet-down on Friday we'll have to set a date for a c-section, but right now we're waiting to see if he turns (or has turned) again.

My doctors don't think inductions are necessary for vaginal twin births because they "always come early" (early being 39 weeks at the latest), which I'm a little skeptical of.  I know twins don't normally go to 40+ weeks, but from what I've heard, it is possible.

    6) What do have left to do to get ready for LOs?

Set up the Pack n Play and move the second changing table into the living room (so there's one upstairs and downstairs).  And wash bottles.

We also have one more piece of art to hang in the nursery, but it's not like that's a true necessity.

    7) What has been your favorite part of this pregnancy?

    The whole thing!

Seriously, I've had a great time, even at the points where things sucked a little.  It's my first successful pregnancy and it's been a wonderful experience that's brought me so much happiness.

  • 1) How far along are you?
    34 weeks!

    2) How are you feeling?
Sleepy from nightly insomnia but otherwise in great spirits and looking forward to maternity leave in 3 weeks.

    3) Rants/raves?
People who are SO excited about how big my belly bump finally is and those who continue to ask how much weight I've gained. I refuse to answer completely and don't feel bad about it!

    4) Questions?
How close to your due dates are you ladies working? I feel like 2 weeks is cutting it close but I need all the sick time I can save. Hoping to be out until January.

    5) Do you have and induction/c-section date set yet?
Nope thankfully I don't have this issue

    6) What do have left to do to get ready for  LO's?
Get some remaining items from my registry, install car seat and practice diapering lol.

    7) What has been your favorite part of this pregnancy?
Having a healthy and problem-free pregnancy has been a huge blessing. I also did not gain as much weight as I thought I would and don't hate how I look. I think pregnancy suits me.

  • 1) How far along are you? 36+2

    2) How are you feeling? My pelvis hurts. It feels like it's on fire anymore. My hips are definitely spreading and it's not fun.

    3) Rants/raves? My in-laws are in town. Guess if that's a rant or a rave...
I swear to you, if they touch my belly or if they say anything that I even might take the wrong way, I will loose my shit. Thank God we have drilled into everyone that NO ONE outside of Robert and Elleanore will be visiting us tomorrow and also that DH is aware that he has to be my buffer.

    4) Questions? Nope

    5) Do you have and induction/c-section date set yet? Tomorrow's the day!! I'm having all the feels today. If there's an emotion, I've felt it at some point since I've been awake I'm sure. For some reason I'm having a really hard time and have been teary eyed most of the day. I'm terrified of the surgery, I'm terrified that they'll need to be in the NICU, I'm sad that this is more than likely my last pregnancy, I'm worried about Robert and Elleanore's adjustment.....the list the goes on and on.

    6) What do have left to do to get ready for LOs? Clean the house before tomorrow. And it's pretty minor. Everything else is set.

    7) What has been your favorite part of this pregnancy? Having Robert and Elleanore be a part of it. Warning....sappiness ahead. I couldn't be more proud of two 6-year-olds. Even though they drive me up the wall a lot of days, they have been amazing. They've been genuinely concerned and sympathetic. They've been extra helpful  (even when they didn't want to be add sometimes). And they are truly excited to have their little brother and sister here. They've stepped up to the plate and I just couldn't be more amazed and proud.

  • @mamadomino I know!  I'm in the final stretch!

They haven't said how far they'll let me go, even though I asked.  They seem to be going on the idea that it'll either happen on its own by 39 weeks or I'll end up needing a c-section (because breech baby) and they'll schedule that for 38-39 weeks.

Right now, I'm expecting to need the c-section (trying not to get my hopes up) and I'm thinking of planning it closer to 39 weeks.

I know twins don't generally go over-term, but if they took after me, they definitely would.  Both me and my brother were about a month overdue (my poor mother).

  • @MojieJo that's sort of frustrating that they won't give you a clear answer!  I feel like I ask you guys a ton of questions but it's so interesting to me the differences between mono di and di di twins!  I also have a friend who just found out she is expecting di di twins and keeps asking about my experience, but I feel like I know nothing about how a di di pregnancy is handled.

@mamadomino It is pretty frustrating, but I'm trying to roll with it.

I'm sure if it gets closer to 39 weeks and both boys are head down, then they'll start talking induction.  I don't see them letting me go much further than that if it comes to it.

  • 1) How far along are you?  35 wks

    2) How are you feeling?  Man!  That's a loaded question!  I am pretty much in pain 24/7.  Both babies are now head down and have dropped as low as they can go.  I have lost the MP and I have contractions (some very painful) all day long.  My back hurts, so I take baths every night before bed.  Last week I was 2 cm and the dr. estimates that if I go to 38 weeks, babies will be about 7 pounds apiece!  They are both currently over 6 pounds and I have my next growth scan next week.

    3) Rants/raves?  No matter how hard I try to keep
my house clean, I just don't have the energy.  I am worried that I'm going to go into labor and that my mom is going to be horrified when she walks in and sees my house (to stay with my kids).

    4) Questions? When I have a bad back contractions, sometimes it shoots a sharp, severe pain straight up to my neck.  Anybody experienced that?

    5) Do you have and induction/c-section date set yet?  Yes!  If I haven't gone into labor on my own, I will be induced on August 30 at 38 wks.

    6) What do have left to do to get ready for LOs?  I need to put up some wall decor in the nursery and have a few more bottles/toys to sanitize, but we are otherwise ready for the babies!

    7) What has been your favorite part of this pregnancy?  I actually like being pregnant.  Feeling the babies move and seeing them on the ultrasound is absolutely amazing to me.  But my favorite thing is just growing our family.  I never thought I would be brave enough to have four kids (and I wouldn't have been), but God knew better!
  • @UnwritteN12, best of luck for a successful delivery tomorrow!  Your post made me teary-eyed because I feel like you and I are in similar situations with having 2 older children.  When I think about the last 6 years, how it's just been the four of us, I get sentamental and end up crying.  I've loved our time together as a foursome, but I know that giving my kids two more siblings is also an amazing gift and they are very excited for the babies.  Robert and Elleanore will be great, but I absolutely understand your concerns.

@MojieJo, I'm jealous that people keep saying how small you look.  I feel like most people look at me like they are astonished that I could find clothes to fit my ginormous body!  I was rolling with it for awhile, but now I feel super self-conscious.

I'm proud of us all for making it so long with these twins! Great job, mamas!
  • Thank you do much @mamadomino! :)

@Ssoccerball - Thank you! TBH, I'm so glad you said that. I feel completly over emotional and so I don't know if I'm just crazy. I'll miss our little foursome too. But the benefits of growing our family will definitely outweigh my concerns as I hope they will yours. :)

  • @ssoccerball I think I hit the genetic lottery (for once) or something.

I'm small-framed (aside from wide shoulders that make me feel like a linebacker) and naturally thin with a long torso, plus I'm carrying almost entirely in my stomach.  My mom was the same way with both her pregnancies (all belly although she's 5+ inches shorter than me and built proportionately), so I'm guessing it's just lucky genetics.  I was seriously expecting to be enormous, to be honest.

I know it's easy for me to say this, since I'm not dealing with people being judgmental about my size, but I've yet to see a twin mama on here that doesn't look great, and I mean that.

Besides, every woman carries differently and we've got double the baby load to contend with on top of that!

  • I wish I had a long torso! I'm 5'4" with not much space between my ribs and hip bones.  I don't think I looke THAT scary huge though.  Yet.

  • I've always heard that it's easier for tall people to carry twins and I'm 5'3.  I don't think that I looked that big until I hit 30 weeks.  These babies are all out front!  I'm sure that some of it is me being paranoid, but I have definitely gotten some looks when we're in public.  And not those "aww...isn't her pregnant belly adorable" kind of looks.   :D
  • @Ssoccerball I've heard the same.  My friend that just found out she's having twins is 5'11".  I'm so jealous of all of that torso space!!

  • 1) How far along are you? 33 weeks

    2) How are you feeling? Ok but uncomfortable I just stopped working too hot and getting lots of contractions and lower abdomen pain pressure, back pain etc. I have stress tests every week, ultrasounds and steroid shots. Every night around 2-4 lots of pain legs, lower belly I think ive dropped I called the birthing suit tgey said it might just be the babies growing rapidly.

    3) Rants/raves? Heartburn finding ways to avoid this. Bagels are great!

    4) Questions? I had an ultrasound and they checked my cervix and just sent me home didn't get any info has anyone had this happen. No news is good news??

    5) Do you have and induction/c-section date set yet? My c section is Sept 2 but I don't think I'll make it until then.

    6) What do have left to do to get ready for LOs?
I guess put together the swings, pack and play bassinet, and stroller but we don't have a lot of space so I'm sure we can do it once they arrive and we need each item I'll have lots of help my hubby is taking paternity leave and I'm off BC I own my own business.
    7) What has been your favorite part of this pregnancy? Feeling the babies kick and developing a greater relationship with my husband :) all love.
About my size I'm 5.1 and I haven't gained much weight everyone keeps saying I'm all baby but I feel like tgey are growing rapidly it feels like my ribs are bruised! Lol im kinda happy the baby moved down gives me some room to breath. I'm excited Im thinking there around 5 pounds each so far.
