Contraction Update

Just got back from the OB. NST took 40 minutes to get the baby's heart rate up where they wanted it, but doctor didn't seem concerned. I'm still only dilated to a 1, still having contractions daily. They get really uncomfortable, especially in the evening. It makes it hard to breathe and makes my heart pound. When the doctor told me I'm not dilated any further, I broke down and ugly cried. I know I'm only 35 weeks today, and he really should stay in there longer... but I'm so uncomfortable, and tired, and frustrated.

@MamaSquishyB I didn't realize you and I are going through the exact same thing. I'm sorry! my baby girl failed her NST twice yesterday as well and I was on the monitor for an hour plus trying to get her HR up. I've been having steady contractions for a little over a week along with intense pressure and discomfort. 2 cm and about 37 weeks. I know how you feel and can only offer support. It seems like 4-5 weeks is an eternity when you're that uncomfortable. Hang in there! he needs to stay put a little longer

I hear you. I've been having contractions on and off for about a week, and I'm 36+2 today. I had them for 8 hours straight on Sunday night and I cried when I called the on-call doc and she said they weren't long enough or close enough together to come into L&D. While I know it's early, I too am so crazy uncomfortable and in enough pain to just want to be done. Hang in there mamas.

I'd offer encouragement but I think anything I say will probably fall flat because I can't imagine that kind of constant discomfort with no progress. All I can say is that you are superwomen for dealing with it! Sending positive thoughts and hope for some relief for you ladies.

I'm sorry that things are hard for you, I think these posts are going to become even more prevalent as the Board nears 40 weeks, and especially as mamas go beyond that date. 35 weeks and not dilated really is a good thing, even if it's hard to see it that way for all the pain that you're in... it's good you got your ugly cry out, hopefully you can take it all day by day and get to 37 weeks or beyond for that baby.

I know the feeling I'm sitting in L&D too I'm scheduled for a repeat csection for the 30th of august (I'll be 38wk2days) I have high bp and failed my weekly nst. I've been here since yesterday! I got my first set of steroid shots yesterday so I'm waiting till this afternoon to get my second set.all weekend prior to coming in I was congested thinking it was allergies, turns out I was sick and had a high fever of 101.8. Fever broke with meds but I've been having contractions too. Dr should be in at 5 today and she will decide if she wants to keep me tonight and go ahead with the csection tomorrow morning or let me go home tonight and see me back on Monday. I'm hoping my blood pressure gets under control. My sons 1st birthday is tomorrow and I really want to be home with him.

I'm so sorry, I feel your pain. I've had contractions since 33 weeks with two trips to L&D. They have slowed some, but some days I get them all day every 5 minutes apart or so. I'm 36 weeks now and not dilated at all, it's really hard to stay motivated and not cry.

Oh man that's so tough! @chastidylynnn man what a tough go you are having too! So your kids would have the same birthday? Exactly one year apart. You are going through a lot. Try to keep your chin up.
I wish you were both at 37 weeks so these things would be more exciting and less nerve wracking.
