Since it's finally August (or maybe for some, ALREADY August?!) I thought it would be appropriate/fun to start a "IT'S MY DUE DATE!" / Overdue thread. We can commiserate with those of us who have the same due dates and no baby yet, share anxieties, frustrations, etc before moving over to the more exciting Labor Thread.
Keep those babies coming ladies!! I'm SO EXCITED to see all your little ones!!
Well, yesterday was my due date. The couple of weeks leading up to it I was super anxious and impatient for baby to come out already. The night before my due date I tried several of the things that are supposed to help induce labor. Well, they induced my first bout of false labor. You've probably read how that all turned out for me in other threads. So now, I'm not trying to rush anything. I want to start labor when my body is ready to really do it. However, and this is petty, I am getting sad that she's growing bigger and bigger the longer we go because I have some really cute newborn outfits I was excited to put her in that she might never fit into now. #priorities
Oh the "is baby here yet?" texts and calls have pretty much stopped now since dh and I both let everyone know exactly how irritating that is after a couple weeks of it! Lol Basically just told everyone "We will effin' call/text you when the baby is coming!"
Due date is today...and at this point she probably wouldn't be here until tomorrow at the earliest...even if my water breaks in the next minute!
#overdue
also, I did go return some newborn outfits last week for the next size or two up...still have some newborn gear but definitely with you on being sad about the teeny tiny things!! Everything still has a tag just in case none of it works...I can go exchange the rest for other items.
My due date is Wednesday (which I guess technically is today as I post this). I had my 40-week check up yesterday (Tues.) and my doctor said my cervix is 'sealed up tight' and baby is still 'floating around' (not dropped). Paired with me not having had any BH, she doesn't seem to think this kiddo will be coming anytime in the next few days. We intentionally never revealed our due date to anyone aside from parents and one or two close friends, so thankfully we've not received any "when's baby coming" messages/calls.
Honestly, I've been ready for this baby to be evicted for weeks now. The thought of possibly going up to 41 weeks is torture. My OB practice generally induces at 41 weeks, but since I'm very adamant on not being induced, my OB will let me go to 42 if I absolutely demand it. Part of me just wants to go ahead with an induction next week if baby's not here yet, but I want to stick to my original plan and let her come when she's ready. Honestly though, I'm scared to death that she's going to be this GIANT baby if she goes too far over. I'm fairly petite so the idea of pushing out a 9-10 pounder gives me nightmares.
@huskymama725... lurking as I am only 38 weeks... My DH looked up some data... and it said overly 90% of moms deliver between 39 weeks and 41 weeks... so you are very very close potentially... hang in there... it sucks being so excited and so close but not there yet... dance that baby out.

I know, that's what the midwives keep saying...but also they won't induce me until 42 weeks. The thought of two more weeks scares the heck out of me! My older DD (she's 5 now) was 10 days early so I let everyone convince me this one would for sure be early too & the thought of going past my due date never even crossed my mind!
@huskymama725 atleast you didn't have to decline... I want baby to come so bad... and having my MW suggest that... I was like damn why do I need to be the strong one... ugh... I already know what my Midwife will do when I turn 41 weeks.. at 36 weeks I have been inserting 3000mg of evening primrose oil... and at 41 weeks she wants me to use my pump 3 times a day... if that doesn't work I will then be offered a castor oil & ice cream recipe.. and then at 41w5d I will be asked to go in for pitocin...after a membrane sweep attempt I believe... they want the baby out before 42 weeks
& wishing we hadn't shared the due date because it's been about two weeks of texts and calls already!
This! I'm not due until Monday, but I'm already getting "no baby yet?!?" or "I bet you can't wait to have that baby!!!" types of comments! The thought of not sharing the due date never even crossed my mind.

I guess all my complaining worked, I had her at 12:51 today
I am officially overdue - 40+1 today. I have an appt tomorrow for a NST, another NST on Monday and then a regular dr appt on Tuesday. If nothing by Tuesday afternoon, I will go to the hospital late on Tuesday night and start to induce. Baby will likely be born on Wednesday- hubby's birthday. Today I was not dilated and only 20% effaced.
Today's my due date! Wondering when baby will make his appearance...
I was way miserable by 38-39 weeks with my first. I am still feeling pretty good, sleeping pretty good (you know, besides 5 pee breaks a night), so I'm just wondering if I'll always be pregnant.
Today is my due date and no signs of baby yet. I'm actually still feeling good other than some back pain, so I made an appointment to see my chiropractor later today. We have a midwife appointment tomorrow, but they won't be doing an internal check until our 41 week appointment when they'll also offer a membrane sweep, so it's really just a waiting game at this point.

Well, I'm 40+5 today and had my "41 week" check up today... my cervix is apparently still hard as a rock. My doctor tried to do a membrane sweep, but couldn't even get up in there to do it. As I said in my previous post, my practice generally induces at 41 weeks. Last week I was ready to insist on holding out until 42 weeks, but I'm so over being pregnant and feeling like complete dog poo that when my doctor asked if I wanted to be induced Wednesday I threw my birth-plan out the door and said "hell yes!".
So... looks like we're being admitted to the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Since my cervix is still hard, I'll likely be given Cytotec to help soften it (or Cervidil if it has softened a bit on its own before then). Then early Thursday (or when my cervix is deemed "ripe"), they'll start the Pitocin. Then we wait...
Officially a member.... I ate my feelings this weekend... and I have to weigh in today... which just kind of adds to the whole thing... get out baby so I can diet and go running again
41 weeks today and I'm still not really feeling any contractions. We're scheduled for a membrane sweep on Friday and induction on the 23rd if that doesn't bring on labor. I'm hoping to avoid both of those, so I'm going to see an acupuncturist today. Fingers crossed we see some progress soon!

Thinking of you! It's weird, like we almost switched dates! Hang in there mama, you are doing so many great things to prepare for labor.

I was just thinking this the other day! Way back during early pregnancy, we guessed when we would deliver for fun. I guessed early tomorrow morning. That's not looking so promising. lol.
40w+4 today and I really don't know how to feel. My husband's boss gave him several days off around the due date but he goes back to work tomorrow about 2 hrs away
I'm getting so frustrated and annoyed that baby boy hasn't arrived yet. I'm even frustrated that my Dr. wouldn't induce a couple days early, before he went on vacation! I go back today to see the Dr. who is covering for him, and i need prayers to be assertive with him. We need to get this show on the road, I've been having cramps randomly for the last 3-4 days. I just want to be induced. This baby needs out... like pronto! My older kids go back to school in a week, and i refuse to wait until next week, at 41+! Not to mention, my GD! I'm just done! I can't do it anymore!
@ShanRum3 I'm sorry your taking this so hard. I hope baby comes out soon for you. Treat yourself today... Yesterday was my due date. We made tacos to celebrate... I love tacos... it was still hard.. and continues to be. I think I'm going to try and not think about the baby's arrival too much.. because its just too hard

My due date is Friday and so the texts/calls are flooding in, "any signs of baby?"
None yet....☺️
