Girl name help...

I thought I finally had a favorite girls name picked - Vienna. I knew from my first child that I was not going to tell EVERYONE like last time because there are too many opinions. Well I told my best friend of course and her response was "like the sausage?" She thinks the name is pretty but that was the first thing that came to mind. Is that the first thing that comes to everyone else's mind? If so, I don't want to name my child something that makes you think of sausage. Any other suggestions for names?

I actually think of the cookie, and then the place, but I'm also a vegetarian... <.<

It sounds pretty but I'd probably avoid it. I wouldn't want there to be any chance that someone would think of a sausage when I introduce my daughter to them.

Thought of the city. Which in German is "Wien". Which is also kind of like wiener.

I thought of the city and didn't think of sausage until you said something.

Also, I have not seen a vienna sausage in years. Do they even still make them?

I think of the train wreck from the Bachelor and then the sausages. Sorry. I think there are far more beautiful names without looking like you're trying to be creative and cultured. Of course, if you have a special meaning with the city of Vienna (or Italy in general, I suppose) that would trump the sausage or crazy girl association. What about Sienna? Vivien?

Vienna is in Austria. Venice is in Italy.

I thought of the city, which is one of my favorites. I have never heard it as a name of a person though. If you told me your kid was named Vienna I would get really excited and ask if it was for the city.

I think its a pretty name, and I want to like it... but I just don't. City was definitely the first thing to come to mind. I just worry about crude sausage jokes being made at her expense....

Kind of sad when you give a a name that you thought that you loved......but this site is so good for bouncing the name off of others and getting opinions that you hadn't thought of..
