I've got one that might be both a UO and an FFC. If anyone nominates me for that "5 day Love your Spouse Challenge" thing on Facebook, I just may have to defriend them. I'm getting sick of the various "challenges" or "dares" going around in general. There's the "proud to be a mom" one, and the "love my dog" one, to name a few. Fortunately, it looks like my friends know me well enough to know that I'm not game for that stuff and I've stayed under the radar so far. But I dread being nominated because if you don't do the challenge, it's kind of a slight to the person who nominated you.
And this marriage one in particular... First, you're supposed to do this thing for a week?! And second, I think it's a little obnoxious and gloaty. I have a lot of friends who either have chosen not to get married or who would like to be married and have not found the right person yet. I am not going to do this week-long, braggy "promotion of marriage" business that suggests my choices are better than theirs, or my life is so #blessed because I am married. That is the shit that makes your single friends hate you. Marriage is great, but it's not for everyone, and it's not the ultimate achievement in life. Plus, after my own wedding I shared like 200 pictures of the blessed event and I think my bride-card is fairly played out. Ok... end rant.
@Snaps816 I totally agree. I actually was nominated to do the "love your spouse" challenge just the other day and I am ignoring it. I am happily married and I love my friends, but even I am annoyed by these random challenges, so I can imagine how it makes my single friends feel. Facebook kind of annoys me in general but for our generation it's almost a necessary evil.
I also hate the spouse challenge. One of my co-workers challenged me a few days ago and I "hid it" from my timeline. I think seven days is over the top.
My FFFC is when I went to see my midwife this week she told me no cervical check next week for my appointment with the other midwife because she doesn't want me to go into labor while she is on vacation. A part of me just wants to get the damn cervical check. If I go into labor, so be it. But then I remember I really do like this midwife and can't imagine anyone else delivering baby at this point. Ugh.

My uo is that I don't believe in waking babies at night to eat. Unless there is some medical concern where it is necessary for baby to eat every so many hours, I think it just trains baby to wake all night when they don't need to. I do wake them during the day if they go too long, but not at night. I think that is part of the reason my kids learned to sleep through the night pretty young.
All the fb challenges annoy me too. Yes I love my dh and kids, but I don't need to post every day for a week or a month or whatever about how great they are. I never do any of that crap, and am hardly ever nominated for them either. I think my friends know better
I guess the fact that I am on Day 6 of the spouse challenge is a UO! HAHA! This is the first "Challenge" I've done, and I haven't nominated anyone. I rarely post on FB so idgaf if people don't like it... Its been nice for me to dig through older pics of DH and I. Its also been nice to "tell our story" a little, and show the side that isn't shown on FB all the time (I talked about my workaholicism, and about our botched proposal, and what not.) Dh is pretty great, but I would never suggest someone get married because I make it look easy or good, because its definitely not either all the time!!

I wake at night until they are back up to birth weight. Then I let them go as long as they want. Though right now he's waking without me getting him up. We're dealing with slow weight gain so I need to feed him overnight.
I stick strong to the never wake a sleeping baby side.
My FFFC is we left DD with my mom and came home to put groceries up and I got legitimately excited about being able to use the bathroom with the door shut. That's probably more of a mom confession though. Oh well.
Oh my gosh - totally agree with all the anti-spouse challenge/FB challenges. I hate them... all of them.
My UO is that I think anyone over 60-ish should have to go through a full driver's license test every damn year to keep their license. I have nearly been hit/side-swiped or had to deal with horrible elderly drivers so many times recently it's driving me crazy. Today I was within inches of being t-boned by an ~80-ish year old man who ran a red light, was smoking and had his phone out. He had the fucking audacity to throw his hands up at me like I did something wrong. I rolled my window down and pointed out he ran a red light and was on his phone and almost t-boned me, a 9 months pregnant person. He just drove off and continued on his merry way.
My FFFC is that I want this baby born in the middle of the night so it doesn't interrupt my middle of the day Olympics gymnastics TV schedule. lol
@Bookhousegirl For some reason she thinks I'm on the tipping scale of going into labor. My cervix is really thin and baby is very low. I think she is also concerned about the extra exams sending me into labor because I had a LEEP procedure a few years back. But I am really not dialated at all, so I'm not sure why she thinks a cervical exam would send me into labor while she is gone. Good thing I didn't mention how much DH and I have been getting busy this last week. Ha!

My babies didn't usually sleep through the night before that anyway. Levi went one night all the way through before hitting his birth weight, but they have two weeks to get there, and he hit his birth weight at about 9 or 10 days. So if he went past that 2 weeks without weighing enough then I would wake him at night. But you're right, the pediatrician recommends waking them until they hit birth weight.
@texasmama2014 I just finished the "love your spouse" challange also. I don't usually do them either but there were a few different reasons I chose to do this one. I also love looking through pics and sharing our "story". The lady who nominated me is my aunt that I only see a few times a year and she loves seeing pics.
@Mrsrundell People come up with "challenges" ... Post a pic of you and your spouse for 7 days to promote marriage (all I put was day 1 of 7 or 2 of 7, I didn't get into religious marriage stuff or anything) and then you "nominate" 2 more people every day (like I said, I didn't nominate anyone). There are challenges for everything- Love your spouse, post your pet, love your kids, some people do what they're thankful for for every day in november... It kinda spams walls.
@texasmomma2014 ok ok - ehhh I could either way the challenges I guess, I kinda like hearing about other people's stuff like that but, would eye roll the mega aw that overly brag too
I hate those challenges too! I really hated the ice bucket challenge. I know it was for a good cause, but I'd rather donate the money. I'm all about disease promotion to get people aware and hopefully get doctors interested in trying to find a cure, but it just seemed like most of the people on my Facebook were just doing it for the attention without realizing what it was supposed to be about. I was nominated for this spouse challenge by one of my best friends, but I'm hoping she isn't hurt I never did it.
My FFFC is similar to @BritMC18. I want to go into labor either late Sunday night or early Monday morning so I can watch the cross country equestrian events. It's on for several hours that day and I would love to have that as my distraction while I'm trying to have a baby!
@JournoGrl23 my favorite movie came on just as I was getting ready to push... ended up pushing for the entire movie, but it was a good distraction for a while! (Movie was Twister, and it was storming lol)
UO: Where them snowflakes at? Fran is bored out of her mind...
FFFC: I know I should be eating properly as part of my PP care but I just downed 2 cupcakes. This is the highlight of my day. For what it's worth, I breastfed all day today so that's like running or something, right? Burning calories....

It takes more calories to breastfeed than it does to be pregnant!
Late FFFC but I can't read the slacker thread. The type A in me starts stressing and going over everything in my head making sure things are done. Also reading it is making me question if I've adequately packed my hospital bag.

My UO/FFFC is that I'm so happy I'm not pregnant anymore. I'm glad I got to experience it once and I would do it all over again for this little guy. But I struggled all pregnancy with feeling like my body wasn't my own, and it feels awesome to be able to tie my own shoes and have a glass of wine.

I am so jelly. I predict this is exactly how I will feel in a few weeks.

@Mfuller76 I'm super jealous as well. I'm sick of people telling me I'll miss my belly. Perhaps I will for a moment but I look forward to bending over and putting sock and shoes on without feeling like my head is going to explode from pressure. And of course, I'm dying for a tall glass of wine!
@mfuller76 I can't wait to enjoy a glass of wine. This pregnancy hasn't been nearly as enjoyable as my first. I don't hate it, but I'm ready to have baby here. Love reading the birth announcements but I'm definitely jealous!
I'm late to the party but my belated FFFC: That song "you ain't gotta go to work (work work work work)" makes me want to rip my hair out. I feel like screaming at the radio. DO YOU WANT TO BE WITH A BUM????? YOU DO HAVE TO GO TO WORK!!DON'T TELL YOUR MAN TO QUIT HIS JOB!!
I'm secretly hoping our baby comes Monday so his birthday can be 8/8/16.
ETA Also, I went to Target yesterday and found some super cute sheets for DD1... for a bed she doesn't have yet. We plan on moving her from a toddler bed to a twin soon but haven't actually bought it yet. Then I came home and found the matching comforter online and ordered that too...
@cm716 I'm hoping for the same day too. I have a weird thing about numbers lol 8/8/16 .. 8+8=16
@jkershaw2013@Allisun85 I have a thing about numbers, too. My birthday is 8/16/82 and I always liked how the numbers all go together (8x2=16) so I'm secretly hoping my LO gets a date like that. Maybe even the same birthday!

@Allisun85 I think we bought every useless thing for baby too. Half of it I got a garage sales though (at least that's how I justify it).
I'm debating a dock a tot next even though we have a bassinet.
