  • Confession 2: if I could have a day where I poop all the poop I'm my belly out just once, instead of over 3-4 bathroom trips, I would be thrilled. Ugh.
I just want two days in a row where I actually poop instead of going once every two days or every three days.   :-/

I'm feeling super stabby lately for no apparent reason. Well, duh, reason: 8 months pregnant over here. For the past couple days, I'm irritated by things that never bother me normally. The rings thread is one of those. I don't even know why, it's not even anything anyone wrote, I just found it got me annoyed lol. Random irritability I guess.

I need this baby to be born during the day, like need. Like labor starts soon after Reese gets dropped off at school. So then we have plenty of time to arrange someone to pick her up and stay overnight with her.

  • I'd like my poop to not be like little rabbit poops, please

Actually, this is definitely something that belongs in TMI so if your sensitive to poop talk, just ignore

But I can't wait for Tues because it is so exciting, I had a poop so glorious yesterday - it was like a 2lb log! I felt so cleaned out and free after that one. Hopefully I get more of those and less of the rabbit droppings.
I had one of those last weekend. Of course it clogged the toilet in my hotel room. I had the joy of calling hotel maintenance to get it unclogged.

  • I had lots of energy after my 3:30 afternoon birth. Pretty much as soon as he was out I was asking for food because I realized I was starving. In labor I didn't care for food at all. I'm also pretty sure I showered that night, too. Because DS1 was in the NICU we had to kill some time til we could go be with him anyway. The rest of the day was spent introducing him to our immediate family, one at a time. Definitely by night I was exhausted.

  • I hated the newborn stage.  Yeah my son was cute but that was pretty much the only good part.  I'm dreading it this time.

  • @RG1 I have a similar issue: my SIL is 32 years old and doesn't have a drivers license. This means that when we go to family events/dinners, etc she frequently expects a ride to and from with my FI and I. This drives me NUTS!!! It's not like she lives 2 minutes from us either...it's a good 15-20 minutes drive to another part of the city. With the baby coming, this is going to bug me even more, I just know it!  I want to scream at her "get your freaking license!!" and trust me, FI knows exactly how I feel about this and has been tasked with dealing with the impending awkward conversation.
  • @runningisrad am I bad person for laughing? Probably... But I laughed

I am having surprisingly normal poops considering I've been taking Palafer for the last week. Mind you they're like every 2 days but they're huge and not hard to pass. I'm also pooping while bumping right now... #sorrynotsorry
Oh, I laughed, once I said very quickly and very loudly: "JELLY BEANS. YOU HATE THE BLACK JELLY BEANS."

Yep, I'm dreading it too. I asked DH today if he felt ready or if he was as nervous as me and he said "I'm absolutely ready-  but I also realize the newborn stage is a lot harder on you than on me since you are breastfeeding and recovering." Made me love him a little extra.

@runningisrad that made me pee my pants a little. Hilarious! You have to write it down so you can tell her when she's older.

Edited because mobile bumping is the worst
  • @lovelylauren86 I've been there, it helps me understand why he screams sometimes... it really released some frustration then of course it felt bad although I had left the room to do it. If that was your worst moment so far, I'd say you're doing pretty damn good mama.

I never thought I'd look forward to the newborn stage again. But I'll take it any day over the threenager stage. I'll probably regret that statement.

I have a hard time picturing a daytime baby. I had Emmett around 8pm, so after a quick visit, all that hubbub, etc.. we all just went to sleep and it made sense.  If you have a morning/afternoon baby do you stay up until bedtime? Or do you nap that day away? Here's hoping for a nighttime baby again!
McKenna was born at 9:11 am. I didn't sleep until that night. I was too hyped up on adrenaline to sleep before then.

This. I'll take a newborn over a toddler any day.
  • Maybe I just had a really difficult newborn.  He didn't sleep EVER unless he was being held so I would stay up all night, cried for hours on end, etc.  I vividly remember rocking him with both of us sobbing and apologizing to him for being such a shitty mom.  My toddler is tough, but at least it's better than that.

I'm team I wish this kid would come out at 2. DS1 is so much easier as a toddler than a baby regarding sleep.

  • I am totally not a dog person. The coffee shop where I work is dog friendly. We have dog treats and a water bowl. I always lie when people ask if we have dog treats. This is a food establishment, unless your dog is a service dog, they can wait outside.

I literally only ready the first post and am responding.

Fffc: when im behind I dot get caught up I just skip to where everyone else is.

@rg1 I had my first at 4:30 am. My water broke first (which happens about 10% of the time.) and the doctor asked if the water broke as I was going to bed and it
had! She said she hears that a lot, so, that may be a slight contributor.

Eta realized my post made it sound like my water broke and night and I had a baby just a few hours later. Actually I labored for a whole day in between. So maybe I'm wrong about the whole thing.

  • @AnnaS930 I was allowed to shower that day, but waited until the next morning. I know I asked about the shower shortly after she was born because of how icky I felt, but by the time all the visitors left, I didn't feel like taking one.

  • Okay, trying to reply to everything because I just noticed this thread!

@seitzy3 Yesssss!!!! If that's what it takes to get some sleep, I would totally do it! It's only at night, it's not like she has it all day!

re times: I had my daughter at 1:18 PM and I'm hoping to have this one early morning. I couldn't keep my eyes closed that night to sleep because of adrenaline. I'm hoping if I have her in the morning, the adrenaline will wear off by night time!

my confession, I just ordered a $30 mascara. Who am I? What is this life?
  • @Bibliobebe omg I used to love SIMS! My favorite part was just building houses and decorating. Ah makes me feel nostalgic.

  • @yellowrose314 yes. Thank you for reminding me of this. Treat yo self. Also, since I'm confessing....I only ordered it because I really wanted the 500 point Stila set they were offering....so I'm not sure why I chose a $30 mascara. But I have maternity pictures in 2 weeks, so...treat yo damn self.
If they have the Caviar hair care set, go for that. Got that for my post-delivery shower, so excited. I'm also super curious about which mascara you ordered... lol

  • @ahackett1990 I go back and forth from being obsessed with it to being totally bored. I considered getting SIMS 4 when it came out some months ago but most of the reviews I read were horrible, and they took away my favorite parts about SIMS 3 - all the ways you can customize everything! The game play is okay, but like you I love the building and decorating the most! So making it less versatile and creative in the building/decorating area for SIMS 4 does not win me over.

I'm not much of a video game/ computer game player anymore but SIMS 3 and Harvest Moon are two games I'll still happily play!

  • @Bibliobebe HARVEST MOON!!!! DH showed me how to download an emulator onto my computer so I could play the old N64 version which is IMPOSSIBLE to find. I think I fell in love with him all over again when he gave me that slice of heaven.

  • @yellowrose314 I once bought a Nintendo DS specificallly to play Harvest Moon. When I got tired of the DS version, I sold the nearly brand new DS to someone because I knew I was never going to use it for another game. LOL

My favorite versions so far are the ones that came out for the Wii - Tree of Tranquility and Animal Parade. I still play those and am working on actually finishing a game with top scores in every area. I don't know why this would give me some sense of accomplishment, but it absolutely would.

  • I also love SIMS! I've played all 4 generations, but Sims 2 was my favorite. I had really gotten into Sims 4 last year even though they really did get rid of a lot of the play. Then DD got water on my laptop and destroyed it. I have a much better laptop now, but haven't played Sims because I found out I was pregnant. I keep wanting to start up a new game on my new laptop, but always find something else to do (usually it's this... getting on TB).

  • Loved The Sims.. last played during my week of maternity leave before Emmett arrived.. amazing, and such a time suck.

Also loved Harvest Moon, I think of it often. Also Animal Crossing.  I love games like that but haven't played either in a dozen years or so.

  • OMG Harvest Moon!! I stayed the night at a friends house one time and everyone else watched movies and I played Harvest Moon...for SEVEN HOURS. I just wanted to get married. Those damn girls took so long to fall in love with me.

Spiro the Dragon!!! ......anyone? No? Hahaha
  • Oh! @yellowrose314 I ordered Dior Diorshow Waterproof.  i haven't had many good eye lash days recently and mama needs a change.
