@yellowrose314 I can definitely imagine how you feel! I got that a couple weeks ago and proceeded to take everything out of the closet, washed the winter jackets and put them away in those bags that you vacuum the air out of (if I could remember the term for them, it'd be great lol) and then a bunch of ish fell down from the closet and like 3 things hit me on the head. I was pissed and ready to say F this if DH hadn't been there to pick it up. Enjoy that cronut, girl!
@JennM205 I think you might never know for sure if that OB knew or not. That's such an annoying situation! I would be upset if I were you. But I do believe a lot of people just use certain pronouns. I always use she when talking about other babies and I use he a lot when talking about mine (although she's a she)
Late to the game, but I've been out of the house most of yesterday/today. Leaving this here for anyone who hasn't seen it! SNL Butt Pregnancy: https://www.hulu.com/watch/2707
@noelani42 DH asked me the same question a few weeks ago and no such thing as too much movement - at least, not in terms of baby health. I will say my own comfort has decreased since LO is super active all the time, but it helps with my mental state to feel kicks, jabs, and rolls consistently.
I've reached an IDGAF point in my pregnancy. I have 8 work days at job number 1 and I'm only still going because we can't afford for me to stop working quite yet. My feet hurt so much as I squeeze them into shoes. I cry every morning I have to go to work plus I'm exhausted. I'm also ready to stop caring about my weight gain. My doctor had told me to try and keep it under 25lbs. Before I went on vacation I was at 13, during vacation I gained 10. I then lost 3 and was hovering for three weeks at 20lbs up. I stepped on the scale today and I'm up 3 again. Biggest reason to try and keep my weight under 25lbs is so that baby won't get too big and I can have a shot at a vaginal birth especially because baby has been measuring big the whole time but I have reached a point where I no longer care. I want to be able to eat without stressing out and I don't really want to get another talk at the doctor's office. Sigh...
Just a general FYI some of us are republicans and don't appreciate all of the GOP trash talk. I will politely request that I separate political thread be started for those wanting to participate in that kind of discussion.
and just a warning to all you FTMs out there. Your butthole will look like the size of Uranus (no pun intended) while you're in labor. You know because of all the pressure. My husband still reminds me...
I keep looking at @mom2adoodle's baby Fin and I truly cannot wrap my head around the fact that a baby that size is inside of me. Like I get that I'm pregnant and that something is digging into my ribs, but I have a Fin inside of me?! What?!

Just got back from the doctors office. Everything is okay. Long story but it took forever to get in (3 phone calls with no response, 3 separate bleeding incidents in 12 hours, cramps, and finally just showing up in tears to be seen). I'll be looking into filing a formal complaint about the office staff.
Once I finally did get in to see a midwife, instead of my regular OB, she did a thorough exam and it turns out that the bleeding is probably from internal hemorrhoids. So embarrassing! But haven't had any symptoms aside from bleeding. Ain't pregnancy glamorous? My Rx is daily Colace. It's a relief to know that baby boy is okay. Thank you everyone for the kind thoughts and words

Yes same. I even showed H and he was like "no way that's inside you..." It's hard to wrap my head around it!
@ajn092 so glad it's nothing to worry about!! Don't be embarrassed about hemrhoids, it's actually more surprising if you don't get them than if you do! I imagine probably more than half this board has them.
@MojieJo bummer on the c section recommendation! I'm finding it really interesting how different docs will deliver certain ways. My doc prefers a breech baby b and will deliver a breech a if they're butt down.
My baby b is now presenting first. At least she's head down I guess? Baby a is now floating up breech/transverse. I have no idea what they're even doing in there anymore.
@marikkita12 if I were you, I would eat without guilt. Sure, maybe don't go out and get three boxes of pizza for yourself every single night (unless that's your thing), but I say eat what you want! Weight control can be so stressful, especally during pregnancy, but it's not always something worth worrying so much about unless you have a condition that forces you to limit your carb/calorie intake. Personally, I am very sensitive about my weight because of the way I was raised so I understand not looking forward to that talk... I hope it doesn't happen! But, if it does, remember that you're already doing a great job growing this baby!

I was holding my friend's one month old the other day and the way she curled up into me I was like "oh! That must be how he's in there!" It amazed me that even after a month she still curls up like that. I'm excited for the day I can starfish on my belly! Lol
Just a general FYI some of us are republicans and don't appreciate all of the GOP trash talk. I will politely request that I separate political thread be started for those wanting to participate in that kind of discussion.
Ohhhh I bet that could get ugly.
I'm not saying I want to debate anything or that I even want to participate. Just don't want so much political stuff on our random/chitchat thread.
I think I caught baby girl practicing her breathing. I was watching my belly move and making little videos, like I do when she goes crazy in there, when I saw it moving up and down quickly and consistently and thought, I'm not breathing that fast! It lasted for a few minutes and I'd only seen her do it in ultrasounds... I didn't know this was a thing!
Hey ladies! Only had to get through 299 posts today!
1. Crazy cat ladies are crazy.
2. I get the "You're so big!" but it doesn't upset me (yet). No one has said anything about me looking like the baby will come any day now or that I'm having twins. Most people just ask when I'm due, thankfully.
3. I'll engage in almost any conversation unless it has to do with politics or religion. Because, as per Ed Bloom: You never know who you're going to offend.
My random and vent (should go in vent thread probably, but rawr, I'm already here).
Back from our trip and holy heck. The trip itself was a little on the stressful side. Then today has just been nuts. Almost missed our flight at 7am this morning. So, that was fun.
5 hour drive home from airport wasn't bad and I was so excited to get back and see our dogs. Got to the house, so happy! My cousin house/dog sat for us while we were gone. We'd given him a set of keys and a garage door opener. When we got to the house we went to unlock the front door with the only spare key we took and the INSIDE CHAIN LOCK IS ON! Garage door opener? Cousin left it inside the house on the counter and pressed the inside garage button and took a run for it to beat the door from coming down, effectively locking us completely out of the house. WHY?! Because I left MY keys at home during vacation so I wouldn't lose them during travel, so they're inside too!
After some debate, breaking the door in didn't seem like the smartest idea so we paid $35 for a Locksmith to come unlock my car (which was thankfully parked in the driveway and not in the garage) so I could get the other garage door opener.
Ok. Crisis over! RIGHT. Collection letter in the mail for unpaid electric bill. We can't figure out where it came from. Called past and present electric companies and no one knows what it's about, all our accounts are clear. Finally call collection agency to ask and find out it's an old bill from an address in a completely different state. I call and it turns out that our final Electric bill payment for this address was denied by our old bank, because it was coming out the EXACT TIME our checks were stolen by one of the movers and the bank froze our accounts for safety. No phone call, no letters, nothing from the electric company... just a sudden and inexplicable collections letter on electric bill out of nowhere that we have to pay now.Yay.
Unpack and leave quickly to get some water and milk since we have no groceries and when we get back the dogs have gotten 3 pairs of my undies out of the laundry and DESTROYED THEM. 2 of them were brand new. Now I'm down to about 5 pair. I lost it and decided to cry because I'm pregnant and easily overwhelmed.
30 minutes later DH is vacuuming the bedroom because the dogs are shedding half their hair off and POOF, brand new vacuum that was a housewarming gift from my mom stops working. Can't figure out why.
About this time the buzzer goes off for the oven. Frozen pizza is done. I go to get it out and for whatever reason the thing FALLS APART. DH has to take over because I think I looked pretty scary in that moment, I'm impressed that the oven didn't pee itself.
I go sit down and DH brings me a plate and as soon as I bring a bite up to eat a big glob of pizza sauce falls on one of my favorite shirts.
Cue the hysterical laughing, because at this point it can only be funny.
Can it be tomorrow? Can today just be done now?
*BIG BREATH* Okay. Eee. I actually feel a little better now.
@lovelylauren86 apologies, as I said I really don't like talking politics and I will say I have few, if any issues with the party.. only with the nominee. But really, it's dropped I really wasn't thinking and not intending to stir up debates or make offense. Definitely not making and individual thread!!! Hahha that's the exact kind of thread I avoid!!
I've been having lots of BH today so OB wants me to go into L&D to check it out. Frustrated b/c I have an appointment tomorrow and I was going to take the kids to movie in the park night tonight. I'm 98% sure it's nothing. Ugh.
Omg baby shoes are the cutest @frogdog06 ! I've resisted buying any for the longest time. I did just get these as a gift - they were on my registry as I'm a HUGE Halloween nerd. my shower is this weekend. So game on for purchasing cute stuff soon!
After taking less than 48 hours off from TB to try and get work done and tackling my overwhelming 'to do' list, I have resorted to taking pics of posts as I read them if I want to respond. Lol. Seriously, I don't know how some of you want MORE threads to check up on when I only come on Randoms, Symptoms, Baby Shower and Birth Announcements at this point since it takes a few hours each day just to read through those posts. If I am really curious or bored, I may browse a few other threads but I feel like I'm probably missing a lot of other stuff going on because there are too many threads to check. I love our Randoms thread though because it is a pretty regular group of hilarious and smart ladies who post/share (although we of course welcome new comers who introduce themselves). If we do a FB group, I guess I am snobby and just want it to be mostly people who post in Randoms. LOL. Maybe that should be for UO thread? I don't really go there so sharing here.
Ok now to address the posts of pictures I took to respond too... @OBMommy Sorry to hear about your visit to the OB! So do you think you could go into labor any minute now? I need an update on this!
@yellowrose314 I know everyone has acknowledged your crazy cat lady post but as a fellow animal lover and mamma to a furbaby, I am so sorry that happened! So nuts and so stressful. Thank goodness you saw Miguel in the window!
@reesaXden Thinking of you and your LO! Please continue to keep us posted on your status. Knowing you could go into labor next weekend is bananas
@PSUBecky23 My bump update today at 34 weeks said blurred vision happens around this time of pregnancy. I just thought I'd share that even though I know your doctor already provided reassurance. I am glad it is better now!
@lovelylauren86 So sorry to hear about strep! You really have had a rough go of it with getting sick lately. Sending healthy vibes your way!
@noelani42 Thanks for the tip about DH taking notes during labor and delivery! I may try to see if he can do that...
@JennM205 After another horrible day in the heat today, I left an hour early and emailed my boss saying I want to work from home tomorrow. My face was beat red in the office today and I did not feel well. The building manager brought huge portable AC units in yesterday that felt heavenly but they could not keep up today or something and it was super hot in the areas I had meetings (of course). Also sorry to hear about your OB appointment this morning. I can definitely see why you felt disappointed to learn the original diagnosis might have been wrong AND a possible gender reveal! But I agree with the other posters, I am glad you and baby are safe and let's just assume the pronoun used was random and that the new OB doesn't know the sex of your baby.
@fireflygirl12 Thinking of you too and your LO! Please keep us posted on if the BH turns into the real thing
@Bibliobebe I am so sorry about your troubles but damn, you are a great story teller! I have felt this about a lot of your posts but never said anything. But you saying you are impressed that your oven didn't pee itself was too much! I had to profess my love to you!

Anyone (especially FTM) feel overwhelmed by their 'to do' list? I don't think I will ever get to the point in this pregnancy where I feel time is dragging on. I have so little time left and SO much to do! I dunno if it is a combo of work still being super overwhelming to me or what, but I still have the following things to do in the next 6 weeks:
Practice hypnobirthing (haven't done the relaxation exercises since my class ended in May!!!) Write a zillion thank-you cards from our shower that was 2 weeks ago Take back stuff from shower (duplicates, won't use, etc).- 3 stores Use completion discounts and buy the rest of stuff we had on registry if we want it still Buy gifts for friends showers (4) Plan hubby's 40th bday party and buy presents (in 3 weeks) Grocery shop since I have gained 40 pounds so far and I realized not much of what I eat is healthy anymore! Write birth plan and email to Doula for our meeting next week Read "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" so I know a little bit more about what to expect Register for infant care class (if there is still time) Pack hospital bags for me and baby Wash baby clothes and put away Order crib bedding Pick baby photographer Research and select pediatrician Research daycare costs Figure out plan for a will and possibly up mine and DH's life insurance coverage to help take care of baby Open a savings account for baby Clean out cars and install car seat bases Continue to bawl my eyes out because I am so overwhelmed
Sorry for this post but my head is spinning, ladies! When do I get to actually enjoy being pregnant??
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
@blondie080300 liking your post just to say I'm in agreement with you. I am starting to feel overwhelmed by all the tasks and things to do. My shower is this weekend so I will have a lot to do after that, as you mentioned. We don't even have furniture or anything for baby yet...so it's a bit stressful thinking we aren't ready, but I know it will all get done. It's just really hitting home that we will have a baby in our home next month! All this to say, we have time to tackle all of these to-do's. Just handle one or two a day! That's my plan. Then relax. Hopefully! Good luck with your list!
@blondie080300 I definitely felt like I could go into labor Tuesday night but I haven't had a ton of contractions since that 6 hour marathon. But then again, I do think I'm losing parts of my mucus plug (tmi
Hahahaha OMG butt baby. Can't deal. I have a couple of apps on my phone that seem to have a lot of people like that - very confused and with lives much more interesting than mine.
@JennM205 I guess it would make sense that docs pick a pronoun even though they
don't actually know the sex of the baby. My doctor cannot remember mine
to save her life. I asked her about circumcision at least twice, and
she's like, "Oh, you're having a boy? Yeah make sure to tell the nurse
you want to do that." Will do lady, please don't forget? Haha. I hope it
was just a reflex and not a spoiler!
@blondie080300 your to do list is making me realize how many things are left off of my to do list. And I was already stressed about it! I wish I could go out of work and deal with all the stuff I need to deal with... of course, then I would probably get things done (it could happen) crazy waiting for the baby to come.
Tip: I noticed "research daycare costs" on the to do list. Make that a priority now! I was shocked at how long the waiting lists were at the places I liked! Get on one asap. But don't stress about it...but do it now!!!! Haha
Going home, yay!! 75% effaced, but not dilated (woohoo!!). Contractions were registering every 3-5min while I was hooked up, so the doctor was like "uh, I guess come back if they get closer together?"
