Re: SH!T JUST GOT REAL! Part 2

  • I think I'm going to stick with a 3 month coming home outfit. If it's a little big, so be it and he can wear it longer!

  • I bought a newborn size, but it was pretty huge. It's actually bigger than some of the 3 month stuff I've bought. So it should be ok. Why does there have to be so much variation in sizes between brands?? It irritates me. Lol

  • I bought both sizes. My friend owns a store to make it so I just ordered through her but bought the leggings and bow through the etsy store I got the inspiration from. Since I had to order two sizes I wanted to save a bit of money by going through my friend
  • I just saw advertisements for the Fall's new shows! Which means Fall is right around the corner and so is baby!!

  • @LauraPCOS So far, they don't seem to care about it. They sniffed at it and now one is on the sofa with me and the other is in her normal spot on our bed. FX they stay away. I fear they'll climb in with him and smother him while I sleep.

    **stuck in box**

Hubby brought the bassinet inside, followed by the stand and ShortRound jumped in it right away and refused to get out even while hubby picked it up and set it on the stand.  Our plan *FX* that the baby will sleep in the nursery which is the room right beside us while we sleep, but hubby wanted something for the living room, especially while I slept and he was awake.

edit - I should add we can't have the bassinet in our bedroom because the door doesn't close properly and I don't trust the one cat (ShortRound) not to get in it.

  • @krzyriver My cat had severe book jealousy, she wouldn't want a damn thing to do with me until I started reading, then all of a suden on top of that very book is where she absolutely HAD to be.
  • Just got our hospital/delivery packet for when I go into labor!  :o

I just got moved to bi-weekly appts. Also, my bestie is 4 weeks ahead of me and she's moving to weekly appts after her next one. I need more time than this!
  • @krzyriver I freaked out when I saw that.  I thought someone had had her baby already!
  • I just saw on Pinterest that Carter's has their Halloween baby costumes online... Lo is due 10/10 so that actually did make it more real for me then most other things!
  • @ignoscemihi Me too! I'm impatient, but these babies need to stay put a little longer!

  • I need more time :( more time for remodeling, more time to enjoy my DS as an only, more time to enjoy the fact that DS STTN and generally wakes up between 9:30-10:30.... It was so different with his pregnancy. I was the same as you guys and wishing time would fly so I could meet him. It's bizarre to be on the other side of that, and so soon. I feel bad for sounding ungrateful- I'm so grateful she's healthy, and for so many things.

Thinking this is why people get PPD.
  • @NoraAurora I'm in the same boat, I wish I had more time. LO just turned one and has so many more awesome milestones to hit... I almost feel guilty that I won't get to lavish him with all the attention DS and DD got when they were wee babes. Not that he'll even remember, but you know the feels. He's my main man and a total mama's boy so I am having guilt about that too.
+1 to remodeling and I too have been enjoying him STTN, also 9:30-10:30 and it's glorious.
I am however very grateful for this bean, and am thrilled that these boys will be so close.
  • I realized last night that we only have 2 more sets of each bill to pay before he comes. We are trying desperately to finish paying the second of H's 3 college loans before October so that $ can go to daycare and we are sooo close, but that realization was not altogether welcome ;)
  • @AllyTheKid @NoraAurora I second all of that. This is my last baby and I promised myself I wouldn't rush it and enjoy every moment but it's starting to become my most uncomfortable pregnancy, fast! I hate that I want it to be over so I'm trying to remind myself of how rough those first few months are and how much I enjoy sleeping through the night again. So when I go to bed with my back killing me and the heartburn starts and I can't get comfortable, I've turned it into a I only have about 8-10 more weeks of sleeping through the night, minus getting up to pee, countdown. Because when you want time to slow down, it does the opposite. Hoping that works out.  :D

I don't have to remind myself - unfortunately I'm way too fixated on this. Because as I learned with DS, if the only issue was STTN then It could be ok. The problem (for me) is that because I couldn't get enough rest, it affects EVERYTHING else...my mood, my ability to think straight, complete a task from beginning to end (instead I would start a hundred tasks, attend to him, forget what I was trying to do, start something else and walk into a room with a partially completed task), my relationship with my H, plus HIS ability to do all of the above.

Just ugh...not to be a downer but with DS I just kept thinking "I was so uncomfortable at the end of pregnancy....I had NO IDEA how much easier it was when he was still an inside baby." Then I wished I could just go back to being pregnant- just for a day! For those of you with family support, it will be easier. We didn't (and don't) have much support nearby.

If there's any period of time I wish could fly by, it would honestly be the first 6 months. Newborn squishies are so damn cute and amazing, but omg. Maybe this kid will be easier on me than DS was.
  • @NoraAurora Yes, exactly! With my last, a July baby, I had a month or so to adjust before school started and I had to throw school drop off and pick up into the mix. This time, I won't have that. I'm terrified of having to get up, sleep deprived, get a newborn and a 2 year old out the door to take my oldest to school and again in the afternoon to pickup. My son is almost 13 so he spends a stupid amount of time making sure his clothes are just right, every hair is in place and I usually have to argue with him about something just to get out the door. Then he comes home with homework that he insists he can't do if I don't help him the whole time and I just can't! I'm already dreading it. But I love my babies, I swear I do! Lol

  • @kelliot09 - and then there are stories like yours which make me feel bad for complaining!
  • @NoraAurora Oh no no, I'm sure it's not as bad as I make it sound. Or hopefully it won't be.  ;)
