How are you feeling? Pretty good!
R/R/Other: I've got nothing today.
Questions: For you 2nd time and + moms, did you really need to retain 32 oz of water for the anatomy scan? My OB office said I need to drink 32 oz in 15 minutes an hour before the appointment. I don't think I'll be able to drink it that fast!
GTKY - what is your favorite season? If you live somewhere that doesn't get all 4 seasons, what is your favorite time of year? Eh, Florida doesn't really have seasons. It's extremely hot, kind of hot, and cold for a month. Haha. But I do enjoy Fall. Late October to November is my favorite.

How are you feeling? I am feeling mostly good minus some lingering hip pain and RLP every now and again. See rant below for *other* information.
R/R/Other: Rave--I got my hip pain under control! I tried sleeping with the pillow LONG ways between my legs so both my knees and ankles are separated...this is the way to go. Also, I switched with our guest bed for a softer memory foam top. The combo of these two has been a lifesaver! I also will usually 1-2 times a night prop my pillow up and sleep on my back. Don't care. I'm telling myself it's ok since I'm not 100% reclined on my back.
Rant...*TMI* I made a new at-home General Tso's chicken crockpot recipe the other night. It already called for 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper, but I figured I'd throw in a bunch of red pepper flakes for good measure. When my DH asked why, I said "It's not General Tso's without red pepper flakes!" It was delicious and SUPER spicy. In fact, I'm pretty sure I could feel baby moving around afterward like whoaaaa mamma that was spicy. Um, my intestines were not ok with this. Had some terrible bouts of diarrhea last night and, because of it, made DH go out and get me a huge thing of gatorade. Of course I chugged the whole thing before going to bed because I didn't want to be dehydrated--and then was up 5 or so times to pee in the night. Sigh. I got on the scale this morning and it said I've lost 2+ lbs since my last OB appointment. Um....I'm just gonna say that was the poops, thankya. lol. Glad it's over though and I feel better!!!
Questions: Hmmmmm, I can't think of anything. I decided to decline all genetic testing. Anyone else in that boat?
GTKY - what is your favorite season? If you live somewhere that doesn't get all 4 seasons, what is your favorite time of year?
I am an autumn/fall junkie. I live in Indiana, where we get all 4 distinct seasons. I love the crisp chill of fall, the changing leaves, and of course--everything pumpkin. I'm ready to get August over with!! (And Christmas is my other fave time of year....I'm like Buddy the Elf, I just love Christmas)

How are you feeling? Relatively, SO much better than first tri!
R/R/Other: So I bought maternity underwear on Amazon and tried it on last night and oh my, my bump definitely hangs out over the underwear. I put on a t-shirt and the underwear after a shower and my bump was hanging out of the shirt. I think I may have had a growth spurt this past week
Questions: @kellybean1988 We also declined genetic testing! We did the quad screening but that's not really a genetic test--this far along, I just don't really know what I'd do with the results if it came back with something negative, you know? I suppose it's good to be prepared but what's going to happen is going to happen.
@gonetothesea I didn't know that about the A/S! Ours is Friday and my OB hadn't said anything about it. I had to get a diagnostic ultrasound on my ovaries and uterus when we were still TTC and they told me to drink a ton of water for that... I really did down about 40 ounces of water in half an hour and I swear my bladder was about to burst sitting in the waiting room. I can't imagine 32 in 15!
GTKY - what is your favorite season? If you live somewhere that doesn't get all 4 seasons, what is your favorite time of year? I'm probably a weirdo for saying it but summer. I grew up at the beach so summer = sunscreen, sand, saltwater, eating ice cream on the boardwalk, and fireflies.
@canavara yeah! they gave me a form at my last appointment, and the nurse wrote in the 32 oz in 15 minutes thing. I even asked 'Wow, 32 oz in 15 minutes???" And she said "Yep!" But everyone that I have talked to said that they emptied their bladders before having all of their ultrasounds, so I am totally confused.

How are you feeling? Okay except that I keep waking up to pee at 3 am then being wide awake until DH's alarm goes off at 6, only to fall asleep until DD wakes up between 7 and 7:30. I just want to sleeeeeeep.
R/R/Other: I'm already on the docket to induce at 39 weeks because I labored and delivered my daughter so quick but we were at my husband's grandma's family reunion Saturday and I was talking about how my induction date is looking like the day before my birthday but that I'm not super excited about still being at the hospital on my birthday (no other reason than I wanted to whine tbh) and his stupid grandma kept going "famous last words!" as in "you could totally go into labor on your birthday or go into labor the day before and be in labor for days!" and I kept saying that it wouldn't happen, because INDUCTION DUE TO FAST LABORS. Of course this is the same woman who when my daughter was 3 weeks old and cried when we were outside and it was 100+ degrees was all "she's gassy!" and I was like "no, she's hot! Give me my baby and let me take her inside!" as she's trying to work her "gas" out.
Questions: Hmm. Nothing other than would anyone judge me if I punched DH's grandma over the above? Cause I really want to. She's a brat.
GTKY - what is your favorite season? If you live somewhere that doesn't get all 4 seasons, what is your favorite time of year? I'm pretty happy from October to April. I love the cooler weather in fall and spring and the snow in the winter.
@kellybean1988 I'm not doing any genetic testing either, unless something looks off on my anatomy scan. I've "consented" and signed all the paperwork on the off chance I might need it, but I probably won't. Many of those genetic tests give too many false positives to be reliable anyways.
@katesmama0706 No judgment from me on that one. Sounds like that lady is off her rocker.
How far along are you? EDD? 14+5, 1/25/17
How are you feeling? Mostly okay lately. Sporadic nausea and hurling, but not as bad. The hip pain is there sometimes, but also not as bad.
R/R/Other: I've got to get my butt in gear and pack up our house. We're moving on the 13th and I only have a few boxes packed. Granted we're getting rid of A LOT of stuff, but it our moving date seemed to creep up on us.
Questions: Is anyone else dealing with nosy family? My mom wants to be at my anatomy scan with DH and I, but we decided we'd like that moment to ourselves, and then reveal the sex to family after we get time to compose ourselves.
GTKY - what is your favorite season? If you live somewhere that doesn't get all 4 seasons, what is your favorite time of year? As someone who really doesn't get all 4 seasons, I like December/January. The lowest temps we get tend to be in the 50s except for a few odd cold days in the 30s/40s, which basically means we don't get a real winter, just a long fall.

@canavara Aww, maybe you did have a growth spurt! I love your bump pictures so I am looking forward to seeing your post on Wednesday!
@katesmama0706 Woooooow to your DH's grandma. Um, no judgement from me if you punch her...
@PaukMeKiande my hip pain is lingering but fading too, glad to hear yours isn't as bad anymore either! Yeah, the false positive rate was exactly why I declined. I'd rather not freak myself out too much!

How are you feeling? Still slightly sick, which is really pissing me off. This is day 9, normally in fine 3-4 days later. Part of me worries that some of it is not the sickness... ex: the excess mucous leading to morning vomits as a type of 'purge' from overnight accumulation.
Hips are constantly sore. But it could be because I've had to sleep seated the last week.
R/R/Other: See above.
I'm telling work on Wednesday, which is kind of exciting and nerve wracking for me.
Questions: @kellybean1988 Like many others we declined testing. They only offered the quad screening which we decided would have changed nothing for us. If they had offered something that would've shown fatal problems/disorders, we would have considered it.
GTKY - what is your favorite season? If you live somewhere that doesn't get all 4 seasons, what is your favorite time of year? Definitely Fall/Autumn, though winter is a close second. I hate being too warm but can always adjust clothes if I'm too cold.
I love the crisp air, the trees changing color, the smell, everything!

How are you feeling? Great! Except for the more swollen gums (though thankfully much better than a week ago), lower back pain, and the fact that I'm constantly hungry and bloated.
R/R/Other: Our hospital will only allow delivering on your back, not hands and knees. Just found out laughing gas is a great option and dulls the pain while still allowing for full mobility, BUT it gets to baby whereas epidural does not effect baby. So...still doing further research on that one.
Rant: moving into our new house in less than 2 weeks! Most of our stuff is packed already, so that'll be easy. BUT while the house is wonderful and in a super great neighborhood with top schools and the house itself looks lovely...the previous owners were not the clean type and didn't care about spiders or mice. So, we will not be able to move right in for the first 2 weeks while we bring in an exterminator, wear masks while we clean up mouse poop, and bleach pretty much every surface (DH will do this). We are replacing the carpet and repainting all the walls. Once that's done, the house will be perfect. But being that I'm pregnant, it's all stuff I'm concerned about and I'll have to wear a mask until I feel it's safe and no airborne diseases thanks to the mice. I'm excited to move and get settled in (and start the nursery), but not excited for all the work.
Questions: So many all the time. Anyone else wanting to use laughing gas? Anyone else want to just eat for your own body again (instead of eating certain things, or not eat certain things)? Anyone else walk into BRU and feel equally excited and overwhelmed at the same time? Anyone else park in "expecting mothers" parking spot (even though we're not that far along yet) and feel a little inner joy?
GTKY - what is your favorite season? If you live somewhere that doesn't get all 4 seasons, what is your favorite time of year? I'm born and raised in Minnesota...so while we have 4 solid seasons, it's really only winter and not-yet winter. My favorite is SUMMER all the way. I love being outside and walking and wearing dresses and sunshine. I enjoy fall because cute clothes, Fall fun, and Christmas is coming. But I hate that it means winter is coming. I LOVE CHRISTMAS. Like, a lot. But RIGHT after Christmas, I want it to be summer again, but then I need to wait 6 more months. We moved to Los Angeles and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! But then, we wanted to have babies with our family around, and since no one else wanted to move to Cali with us, we moved back to Minnesota. Yippy.

@gonetothesea I was told to drink that much water for my initial ultrasound, but said that the baby is big enough for the A/S and won't need water. However, my tech and I found out that by the time I feel the urge to pee, my bladder is HUGE (I'm a therapist and apparently trained my brain to not tell me I need to pee all the time to help me hold it during session). Second US she had me half-empty my bladder TWICE and said for the anatomy scan to just drink half a glass of water 15min before my scan to urge some water into my bladder, but didn't want it full. My typical "glass" is about 24oz (we use big glasses at home and my water bottles are big), so I drink a lot. Idea: add flavored powder to the water, like propel or something, to make it taste better so you can drink it easier. Or a squeeze of lemon.
@katesmama0706 I won't judge
go for it
@kellybean1988 I thought about this early on, then forgot about it. I make it a habit to eat some form of protein at every meal and as snacks occasionally, like almonds or something. But I also have unflavored protein isolate I mix with water or milk in a shaker bottle to drink for protein, or I'll make a quick smoothie with a scoop and a banana and a few ice cubes w/ almond milk or water. I also got these DELICIOUS extra protein oatmeal & cinnamon English muffins from Target and I LOVE them. I eat eggs, tuna, greek yogurt (1 cup nonfat Greek yogurt has 25g protein!), chicken, and salmon. Sometimes cheese, but I'm not a fan. Kefir is also a great option.

For protien I worry. I try to eat some turkey jerky if I really feel like I'm lacking. I'll add a half scoop of protien powder to my oatmeal sometimes. And greek yogurt - though the texture is too much for me sometimes. Crackers with ham and cheese. Peanut butter on waffles for breakfast. I try. I'm sure I need more.

How are you feeling? Feeling okayish- better than the first tri. I am experiencing migraines a few times a week which is not super and nausea at night.
R/R/Other: I'm really struggling with meals. Hardly any foods sound good and even though I'm hungry, I can't make myself eat without gagging (if it's something I don't want to eat). I'm just getting worried. I've now lost weight and I know I'm not getting enough protein, veggies, and fruit which makes me worry for the development, etc.
Questions: None right now.
GTKY - what is your favorite season? If you live somewhere that doesn't get all 4 seasons, what is your favorite time of year? I love all of our seasons for different reasons but I enjoy our midnight sun during the summer (makes up for the dark winter). Fall in Alaska is really beautiful but is very, very short.
Apparently I've lost 3 lbs since my last appt a month ago. She said it's fine but we need to look at gaining now and I need to be cognizant of eating. I think at least 2 lbs of that has been this last week of sickness.
@loveinak I'm sorry about the migraines, that is no fun at all!! I would just ask your doctor about your eating habits, etc. It always makes me feel better to ask questions!
@Mylitta yaaaay for a good appointment and a strong, solid heartbeat! I can't wait to hear my baby's heartbeat again at my next appointment! My coworker has offered to let me borrow her home doppler and I am staying far far away because I think it will cause me too much anxiety if I can't for some reason find it. Also, I agree about just doing the best we can with protein. It's all good. Yes, last night I made grilled cheese sandwiches and I scrambled up an egg to put on mine. Omg, it was heaven. Why have I never done that before!!!!!!!!
@canavara I found the Fair Life milk at our local Meijer! Oddly enough, it's made in Indiana, which is where I live! I had no idea. I got both the chocolate and whole versions...the chocolate is TO DIE FOR and I think I will start off my day each day with a glass of that. 13 g per protein per cup is pretty epic. It's exactly what I needed to put me over the hump--I added up (roughly) the protein I'll be eating today, and it's almost exactly 70g now with the addition of the milk! Thank you SO much for the suggestion!

@canavara That is so funny!! I loooooooooooooooove Gen Con!! Are you going this year? I am not, sadly, to save money, sigh. But DH is there and having a ball, of course.
My DH and I love to game but we are not into registering for the long game events--we have done some of that in the past, and discovered it's not our favorite. The second year that we went, we helped write and GM a 50-person Cthulhu LARP based on the Titanic....I have to say, it was pretty stressful, but it turned out to be awesome. It was the first time I'd ever GMd anything in my life so to do it at Gen Con was pretty intimidating....but it went well.
Usually we are there for the exhibit hall, the art show (me in particular, I LOVE the art show and usually try to pick up a couple of smaller prints that strike my fancy), the costume parade, and of course ( not for me this year, another reason why I'm skipping out!) ...the biergarten!! I also love the food trucks. We love Sun King so it's usually a tradition to go have a few brews at the biergarten and then roam the exhibit hall while trying to drunkenly stumble through game demos, lol. I just love it all! I also really wanted to be super pregnant (or at least showing more than I am now) this year so I could do some cool costumes, but alas, no big visible bump yet. I don't know about you guys, but we are definitely planning on bringing our 8-month-old next year to dress him/her up in some cute costumes or at least clever nerdy onesies!!!
