@caitlinj187 - Totally agreed... I foresee our two getting up every time the baby cries for at least the first week. They usually sleep at the foot of our bed, but for about the past month, I guess Hans has gotten really tired of me tossing and turning and nearly bouncing him off the bed, because he's willingly taken up a dog bed next to our bed, on the floor. Poor boy.
I just spent FOUR hours in home goods and tjmaxx. It was glorious. Now I'm hungry!
This takes some serious skills, third trimester and all. Unless someone was pushing me in the cart, this would be impossible for me! I'm very impressed. Hope you got some amazing deals!
So I went to my 38 week appt and told my Midwife that I'm done and ready to have this baby. She then offered to sweep my membranes... I was so shocked that I declined because I hadn't had time to really think it over... I mean I'm not even overdue yet... I spoke to my DH and hes like Oh yea do it... and then I texted my doula about possibly doing it at 39 weeks... and she told me to wait til 41 weeks for that because my water might break and labor isn't ready... and then cascade of interventions...
either way... she looked at me and smiled and said then you're not as done with the pregnancy as you could be... and I guess she was right... I woke up this morning in a better mood and trying to kind of savor the last couple weeks I have.
Am I the only weirdo that likes the smell of the hand soap they use in hospitals and doctor offices? Just had a BPP u/s and washed my hands and now I can't stop sniffing my hands!
@SkiChic626 I walked into my coworkers office yesterday and was ecstatic screaming "What is that smell, I just love it!?" and she replied with a funky look on her face "Nail polish...."
@Katm89 I am so envious of your patience! I am going tomorrow for my 39week appt and I'm going to beg for a membrane sweep. I so want to be zen about these last weeks, but I woke up this morning, almost in tears, because I am so done. I need to find a way to be where you are!
@skichic626 Yes!!! Over the weekend my husband ran a road race and at the finish was a merry-go-round. My DD wanted to go on but I couldn't go with her. She said that was OK, she could do it by herself. She is 2 1/2. So she there she was waving to me as she went around and I was crying...like an idiot.
@Bookhousegirl don't judge yourself so harshly... I actually woke up and cried about being pregnant yesterday morning... ever day is different... Today just happens to be a good one
I just spent almost $50 on etsy buying rompers and headbands for baby's newborn photos. DH is going to kill me but I fell in love with this one shop and I couldn't resist. The rompers are stretchy and fit 0-6 so she will get good use out of them at least!
Lets just say i started crying and being a jerk to my little brother since i was trying to surprise DH with maternity pics he got done of just myself as DH's birthday present which is coming up and now i feel bad and had to apologize to him for going off on him as he got them done OOOOPS
I haven't gotten a pedicure since around mid-June and was in need of a polish change so I got the bright idea to try and paint my toenails yesterday. Total fail.
@Hannah0726 I got a pedi on Monday and somehow I chipped my pinky toe, of all toes. I tried yesterday to fix it myself....epic fail. I'll be pathetically going today like a goof asking them to please fix it for this preggo who can't do anything for herself anymore.
I am currently trying to find a nail salon near me. I had one that I would go to but since I moved I need to find one closer. Planning on going tomorrow!
I'm making cinnamon rolls for breakfast so while they're in the oven baking, me and DD are eating Cheetos watching Lilo and Stitch. I'm gonna miss good food after this baby is born and I start dieting but these are terrible habits for DD. And me. Guess who's too pregnant to care?!
I haven't taken a bump picture in weeks. I need to get on it. I have to actually get ready today so I guess I will.
Also I'm gonna wear my new leggings for the first time today. My sister started buying lularoe leggings and they're so comfortable so I thought I'd give them a try.
We've reached the point where we can longer pick up the phone and call someone without sending that person into a frenzy that baby's on the way. "No, mom, I was just calling to see if I can bring you lunch." It's hilarious and frustrating all the same!
@becca7903 ugh, yes! I've stopped calling my mom, I just wait for her to call me. The problem is that DH is the same way! I always just text him now, because if I call, he assumes I'm in labor!

This pregnancy has definitely made me want to go to each pregnant woman I've ever talked to and apologize for all the dumb things I probably asked/said.
With my nephew, I was definitely a family member that just came and sat around. Granted I was like 20 years old, but still. I want to make her a casserole and be like, "here, this is for 7 years ago after you just had a baby and I sat on your couch and did nothing."
@Hannah0726 so much yes to all of that. I feel the same way and now empathize with any pregnant woman out there.

@Hannah0726 & @midwestbaby I feel the same way... I would rant about pregnant women using it as an excuse to eat like a pig... to my sister in law who was pregnant( thinking she hadn't gained alot).... and wondered why she got upset when I was clearly trying to compliment her...gosh I wish I could go back and re-do
@Hannah0726 I couldn't agree more! We could start a threat of "Stupid things I said/did before I was prengnant" thread about this issue.
One example I can think of is that last year, when my three-weeks post-partum best friend was coming to my wedding with her baby in tow (which is an amazing feat on its own), I asked her if she and her husband might be able to give DH's cousin a lift from the train station to our wedding venue (an 80 mile trip they were already making with a 3 week old baby). As if they didn't have enough on their plate already, there I was asking a favor. I am now mortified that I asked that, but at least the cousin ended up finding other transportation so they didn't have to actually do it. I'm sure they would have loved to wait outside the train station for some stranger they wouldn't recognize, and then have him sit in back with their baby the whole way up!
What kind of snacks is everyone bringing to the hospital? I can't for the life of me remember what I brought last time other than my bubba water bottle.
I packed annies fruit snacks, cheddar bunnies, skinny cow cluster cookies, oreo dippers (for the DH), beef jerky, and pineapple juice in cans.

@SkiChic626 I'm currently wearing llr leggings and they amazing.
I really wish my kids didn't follow me from room to room. I just want to sit down for a few quiet minutes. I'm currently in the br with the door locked for 42 seconds of peace. Dh is working late shift and I'm counting down until bedtime. (1 hour 53 minutes).
Also I'm tired of my 2 yr old jumping on me.I know she doesn't understand but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt!
My DH is leaving for a work trip tomorrow until Monday. Please stay baby and let me survive the weekend. I'm currently 37w3d.
Apparently DD and I are staying at my inlaws (yay, AC) ...and that's cool but I feel like I have so much to do at home. I haven't had a day off since June. Hopefully I can convince my inlaws to come organize my house and put together some baby things.
