GTKY: What is your birth plan? If you are a BTDT Mom, is your birth plan different than your previous pregnancy? Have you started taking birth classes or taken a hospital tour?
Re: Saturday Ticker Change 7.30.16
I have a scheduled c-section for October 1st, so only 9 more weeks! I'm ready to be done with pregnancy and have him here.

Well, scheduled repeat c-section here. There's only one dr. in my city who does vbacs and he wasn't taking anyone at the time. My birth plan with my first was "get the baby out safely", so even though I cried when I ended up having to have a c-section after laboring for 12 hours, I was ultimately ok with it. I'm not taking any classes this time around and I've already been to the hospital twice for pregnancy things, so no need for a tour.
30 weeks, OMG only 10 weeks left!
A platypus!
Fairly decent. It's getting harder and harder to bend over lol.
We have one with the midwives on Tuesday. We also had our 3D ultrasound today. It wasn't as clear as I had expected, but I did see a few times where it looked like Bean was smiling which was pretty cool. Sadly husband's work told him yesterday that it was mandatory he worked overtime today so he didn't get to go, but I did purchase a stuffed animal with Bean's heartbeat recorded in it as a surprise when he gets home.
As it gets close to our due date I'm getting more and more nervous for the birth process. I know my body will do what it needs to, but I'm totally unprepared mentally. In the end I'll be fine, but as a FTM I just don't know what to expect.

I've gone on two hospital tours, not to mention my week stay with the bloody nose, so I'm really familiar with the L&D unit. I'm pretty go with the flow type person, I want to try for an unmedicated birth, but if it becomes more than I feel like I can deal with, then I'm not opposed to an epidural. As long as Bean arrives healthy, that's really my only concern.
I'm not taking any birth classes, although I probably should, but I am taking an infant care class. It'll teach us how to care for Bean during those first two weeks which I feel like I definitely need since I have such little experience with tiny humans.
(I was having trouble copy and pasting today for some reason.)
So hot in sacramento. All last week was 100+. Never thought I'd be so excited to see weather in the 90s over the next week But can we please dip into the 80s after that? Especially for the 20th and the baby shower? I obsessively check the extended forecast to see when relief is coming.

No birth plan. No classes yet. Debating whether I want to take them. We've done the hospital tour though, so we at least know where to go!

GTKY: What is your birth plan? If you a re a BTDT Mom, is your birth plan different than your previous pregnancy? Have you started taking birth classes or taken a hospital tour? I didn't have a detailed birth plan with my first, but the things we did have planned didn't pan out. I went in with the idea that I'd labor without medication for as long as I could, then get an epidural if the pain got to be too much. Sadly, because I was on blood thinners, and because everything happened so quickly, I wasn't able to get an epidural. We also wanted to donate cord blood, but the on-call doctor couldn't be bothered, so that didn't happen either. I think I'll go in with the same attitude toward medication. I've heard the second goes faster than the first. My first took six hours from water breaking to baby, so I think any birth plan I'd make would go out the window again anyway.
We took all the birth classes our hospital offered with our first and I still have the written materials, so I'll probably review those. We're delivering at the same hospital as with our first, but they've made some changes, so we're going to tour mid-August just as a refresher.
What size is baby? Eggplant
How are you feeling? Tired. I had to add a pillow under my leg, I'm waking up with near charlie horses in my calves at night, and just not sleeping well.
Upcoming Appointments? Glucose test is tomorrow.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Today at church my almost 4 year old ran off from me and I had to run down the street. If he hadn't slowed down and stopped, I would not have been able to catch him. He understands that it is dangerous, but still thinks it is a game. He was literally laughing as I chased him down the side walk. I'm so frustrated.
GTKY What is your birth plan? If you are a BTDT Mom, is your birth plan different than your previous pregnancy? Have you started taking birth classes or taken a hospital tour? I need to start the hypnobabies material that I used for my first pregnancy soon. I also need to do the hospital tour. I want to do the sibling class for my older son just so he knows what to expect from the new baby.
