Mommy wins

We've had a good bought of mommy confessions, but to keep things little more positive, what are some things you feel like you're definitely nailing as a mom? It can be baby or life in general related

  • I think I'm doing well with the single mom gig for half of the week. I was so obsessed with keeping a tight schedule and making sure the home is super clean but now it's more like meh, things can wait. LO is such an easygoing baby which makes it so much easier.

  • I was able to clip the cats toenails yesterday. Not exactly a mom win, but she hasn't really let me clip them in months... They were getting bad. Last time I had to take her to the vet to get it done. She just sat there all content which was completely out of character!
  • I feel like Im a chicken running around with my head cut off most days, but LO is always smiling and/or laughing and cooing. So I must be doing something right to have such a happy baby!  :)

I can't figure out how to clip my dogs' nails to save my life. I tried once, and my silky terrier cried and bled. Never again.

You don't have to spray until you start solids. If you know when she's going to poop, put her on the toilet. I started doing this with my first at 6mos and she was poop-trained by 9 mos. it was great!

  • @kielpinskim - good idea!  We can usually anticipate when she is going to have a dirty diaper although sometimes she catches us off guard.

My washing machine is absolute crap so I have to rinse the EBF poo out anyway. I do need to invest in liners soon though for starting solids.
  • Nursing. I never thought I'd be able to conquer it and I have.  It's like second nature now!!

Bummer. I found that poop became ploppable after about a month of solids, so you may not need the liners for too terribly long.

  • I'm winning with tummy time/play time at home. I've got books, toys, and little games (patty-cake, etc.) to keep him entertained before we start our nighttime routine. We both enjoy this time together. It's also great for me as it helps me de-stress and relax from hectic work days.
  • My post partum hormones are leveling out and I finally have enough energy and attitude to set up "invitations" and "work" for my 3 older kids. Having these activities set up throughout the day really gives me more time do get dinner prepped and keep the house in order.

Yikes!!! It's really hard if the pet has dark or black nails! I don't think I could do that because it'd be hard to cut the quick (blood supply to the nail). Thankfully my cats nails are clear so you can see and avoid the quick.
