I've seen from previous threads what some of you do. I can tell just from talking to you guys so far that this is a very talented bunch and I'm curious what careers everyone has pursued. So those of you that work outside of the home, how do you bring home the bacon?
I am a paralegal at a small intellectual property law firm. I help to prepare and file trademark and patent applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office. I love it, it's challenging and very interesting, and one of the most lucrative things I could do with my useless English Literature degree.
I'm a transactional attorney at a smallish general practice firm. I specialize in commercial real estate and mergers and acquisitions. I've been practicing for 10 years and I'm a partner at my firm. Unlike a lot of attorneys, I love where I work and what I do.
I'm the Marketing Manager for one of the US's largest travel agency/corporate travel management companies. I get to work with vacation travel and business travel which is pretty fun. Pretty rewarding to work in such a fun industry.
I'm a Family Support Worker aka Case Manager for Catholic Charities Mobile Response. Essentially we provide services to families with children in crisis.
I project manage infectious disease & vaccine clinical trials at a large pharmaceutical company.
ETA @sugargirl1019 mad props to you. My mom spent a lot of time in the ICU after her Whipple & all it's complications. ICU nurses are a big part of the reason she is still alive today.
I am a preschool teacher which is PERFECT because when I go back to work I can just let my baby be there (they accept them starting at 6 weeks) and I can leave every two hours to breastfeed. My job is amazing!
SAHM and teacher taking leave I was an elementary school teacher for 11 years. I am taking the next couple years off to raise DD and have this little bean the plan is that I'll go back in 3 more academic years. But I am looking to start a masters program next fall. I already have a masters in education but am looking to complete a program in curriculum and instruction mainly because I miss learning and feel that after 11 years teaching and 1.5 at home I could use a brush up
I just have to convince my DH it is worth the $$.
But until then I am a full-time one on one educational specialist to the cutest and brightest little 18-month-old you've ever met
I'm a dietitian....I've worked in the Medical ICU for almost 9 years. Saving patients lives one tube feeding at a time. Shout out to @Sugargirl1019....ICU represent!!
For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. 1 Samuel 1:27 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm a director of business development for a contract laboratory in the life sciences/biotech industry. Home based but on the road about 75% of the time. Love the work & love having to keep up to date on developments in drug delivery technology. It's definitely not boring!
You guys all have such cool jobs! I'm the Communications Coordinator at a non-profit. We focus on parenting and community education, and right now we are also working on a substance abuse prevention initiative with our state's DBHDD. I do our online marketing (social media, website, blog, etc.), PR, and whatever else needs doing.
I am a human resources manager for a large organization. I specifically oversee my organization's Employee Relations program, to include issues such as ADA/ADAAA, disciplinary actions, grievances, EEOC charges, unemployment filings, workplace violence, sexual harassment, etc. Never a dull day in my job.

I'm a genealogist. I work for a firm that does a number of things, but a large part of what I do is locate heirs for large estates when the heirs are unknown. I also manage a group of researchers who do this also.
