I just uttered a sentence I never thought I would say. I am a really big believer in public institutions. That being said, the school board in my area is sooo over-staffed that it's impossible to get a job without being a fluent French speaker who can cover home ec, tech ed, and science. Because of this, the only job I could find was as an English teacher in a private university prep school.
And I just found out today that I don't have to worry about coordinating novel studies or short story units with other teachers because instead of worrying about sharing the same ratty class set that has been used for 20 years, it's just built into student tuition that they buy books. And I crowed "Man I love teaching in a private school!!"
*hangs head in shame, donates funds to local public high school*
@ThePax89 yes like in July 2014. I went to my local store and had them look in their computer to see if I had purchased the recalled fruit. When they said "yes, on six occasions", started crying because I had been really sick during the time in question.
Those still on the fence about maternity underwear...check it out...I bought some because it was on sale about 3 weeks before my first was born...not waiting that long this time...they are fabulous.
I'm blaming my pregnancy brain on this but I can't for the life of me figure out what FFFC stands for. I figure one F is Friday and C is confession but can't figure out the others.
Mine is that I am not a coffee lover/drinker but I really want to be because I LOVE the smell of coffee! I often brew it just to pour a cup, hold it and smell it. But no matter how many times I try to drink it (black, cream, sugar, flavored, etc.) it always lets me down.
I had an international supplier visiting my office come up to me and gesture to my stomach and say "and you are having baby". I'm not showing and have not announced and so had to say "no, no, not pregnant!" She giggled and made it worse by continuing to say things like "but you used to be SO skinny! And now you're married and...." I had two colleagues standing awkwardly and uncomfortably by, the male colleague offering "it's just the dress" (me internally: yeah, thanks)
anyhoo, I had to mention it to other coworkers like guess what someone said to me AGAIN (eye roll) as it has happened a few times over the past couple years to me pre-pregnancy... Now I'm going to have to eat my words in a couple weeks when I'm like "oh, but also, I'm actually four months pregnant"
but, to be fair her assumption was completely unfounded as I weigh the same I did when I got pregnant. So my lies are validated.... ?
@sarag I also weigh the same as my prepregnancy weight but I'm definitely still a bit bigger/more bloated. It's more the shape of our bodies that people look at.

I know... By the end of the day I look six months pregnant. But I was wearing an a-line dress in black that comes out a bit anyway in all directions. It wasn't a poochy moment for me. I'd gained weight since last seeing this person and she knew I'd gotten married too so I think that's why she said it. But I'm like don't you know never to ask a woman unless you're 200% sure?! Cmon!
@ElleMF728 that was my situation but reversed last year! I HATED my building (teacher) last year. To the point where my Dr seriously offered to put me on medical leave because my anxiety and BP were so high. My hubby and parents even told me they'd support it and my Dad offered to help cover our bills until I could switch schools. I had zero idea how much hating your place of employment effected every aspect of your life. At a new building this year so optimistic it will be better. If not, I'm looking into a career switch. Good luck to your hubby and you! I understand how hard it is!
@TinaBelcher I was a D before I had my first. Lost weight and got serious about my health in the past 3 years and my boobs shriveled up into B's (I say shriveled because they were a wreck after BFing and weight loss, not pretty). So I am totally rocking the increase in size back to a C and pretty looking boobies! Get it girl--while you can!
