I forced a couple of people, who had commented "I wasn't sure if that was your bump or your dinner", to touch my bump last night because I could tell they would be super uncomfortable doing so. I then laughed when they were freaked out by how hard it was and how immediately embarrassed they were for making that comment.
My husband is being kind of crazy about all of the "rules" of what you can and can't eat while pregnant. It's sweet I guess that he is doing research and he means well, but.... no. I cut caffeine out completely during my TWW and after my BFP, for a while. Then I started having it just when I got headaches. Now I have a pop pretty much every day at work and don't tell him. He thinks I'm still drinking strictly water.

My sister in law gave me a TON of hand me down maternity clothes. She included several pairs of maternity underwear. I am totally wearing them even though I would normally never wear used underwear - they are just SO comfortable!

I wasn't convinced on maternity panties needing to be a thing after reading some article about "things you totally don't need while pregnant" but this baby is riding so low that y'all convinced me to go get some on Amazon. And holy crap are the photoshopped pictures of "pregnant" women creeeeeeeepy.
So who here's belly button has suddenly become double the length and offset by 2"
This was my first week of sleeping with the snoogle (which I love, by the way). I sleep on my left side with my left arm underneath the snoogle. In the middle of the night, I must have tried to roll over and didn't realize the snoogle essentially pinned my arm down. In my a half awake, half asleep state, I thought my left arm was paralyzed. I freaked out, woke up fully, and realized the issue.
@aishmc classic first breakfast choice. I love that you said first breakfast. I too am now eating like a Hobbit. It's the only way to go. Enjoy second breakfast and elevenses!
I've pretty much been eating like a Hobbit lately too. Idk what I'm going to do when I have to start classes again in August. I hope my professors don't mind me snacking in class!
I think it is silly when people pick out 'the' bedding set for their baby, as though they're only ever going to use the one sheet (hahahahahah). Nevermind that the quilt won't be usable until baby is too big for it. My confession is that I have spent all morning shopping baby bedding sets in search of the perfect one for baby to puke on. (no luck yet but I have some ideas!)
@sldp123@LastMango My H is the total opposite. His saying is "WWFD? What would the French do?" As in, the French are much more laid back about their pregnancy lifestyles. Men...hmph.
I have nicknames for you all that are basically simplified versions of your usernames for when I catch H up when he asks "what's bumpin'?"
My FFFC.... I had a slice of Domino's cheese pizza while standing in the breakroom at work as I waited for my lunch to heat up in the microwave. You gotta eat a snack while you fix yourself one!

My confession: I'm upset I haven't been able to go into work this week because I'm sick. I know I should just take the time and get better, but it's frustrating. I keep thinking of how is harder for others because I'm not there, and I should be well enough by now. I never call in sick and I absolutely have the time, but it still pisses me off... The only reason I'm not pushing it is for baby, I'd be going in regardless otherwise. Though, if not for baby I'd probably be over this already.
We had a nanny for my daughter from 6 months until about 16 months when she started are her current school. We paid her under the table and I don't feel at all bad about it...in fact, I want to go the same route with this baby and am hoping we find another nanny who is OK with it.
I suppose that I'm an "attachment parent". My husband and I don't believe in letting our children cry. We give them what they need, and it that's a boob 7 times a night...So be it. My fffc: This pregnancy has made me HATE attachment parenting.
@cjs260 I always talk about TB when I get home from work! He'll ask how my day was and I'll start talking about any new boards or interesting posts. He's like... I meant at work. I think he's finally getting used to it though.
After telling my husband to make sure to make his breakfast at home this morning (because we are on a tight budget) I went and bought myself donuts for breakfast. I paid cash so he'll never know but I do feel a tad guilty... I rationalized it by telling myself that if my glucose test comes back positive then I will have to change my diet and cut out the sweets.

FFFC: I would love it if my husband came home one day and told me that he quit his job. I seriously hate it and we have enough saved up to be okay for a little while until he found a new one. I also think the motivation of quitting and extra time would help in the search.
He is so unhappy there and the work/life balance is awful. We both know that it likely isn't going to work out long term but its hard to take the time to find a job he really likes when he is constantly working late, weekends, nights etc.
@ThePax89 I had dreams of being an attachment parent when I was pregnant with DS but it wasn't for us. I honestly don't understand how people with more than one young child even do it. I mean logically I assume it must work out for some families but after being climbed, cuddled, kissed and played with all day by my kids I am so touched out by bedtime.
Here's mine: I don't own a microwave or have TV and have zero intention of getting either after baby arrives. Technically, we possess a TV -- it's hanging on the wall in our office -- but we moved into our new house 3.5 months ago and have yet to plug it in.
@ElleMF728 I assume that I'll sleep in one room with the baby, and DH will sleep in another room with our toddler, who sleeps in bed most nights. It's going to work great for our marriage obviously.
I'm sure I'm going to be torched to shit for this...I HATE when pregnant women say "oh yeah I drink a little bit while pregnant" or "I eat cold lunch meat regardless, my babies have all been fine". Granted I'm PGAL and all, but I live in constant fear of something happening to my baby, so I get super pissed when people disregard that advice. Flame away.
@ThePax89 I don't drink regardless, or eat sushi or deli meat (texture weirdness for both) but my OB looked at me during my 10 week and went "I don't really tell women to avoid deli meat during pregnancy, I mean you could warm it up if you want to, but you're more likely to get listeria from fruits and veggies" and I was like "ummmm for reals?" So now I live in constant fear of listeria via watermelon or something. That's been fun.
Soooo a while back I asked the STMs about bras/ what to do with these crazy boobs and I was given the excellent and fiscally responsible advice to buy those stretchy underwire-free bras that'll work for the rest of this pregnancy most likely......
I totally disregarded that advice. My boobs look ahhhmaaazing right now, (going from an A/ barely B cup to full C) and I'm sticking with a little lift and separate support to keep these suckers looking awesome for as long as I can
@katesmama0706 with my first pregnancy I followed all the food rules. I ended up eating peaches that were recalled for listeria and got really sick. So I had to be monitored by a perinatologist a few times. Baby was fine but it was a big scare.
@katesmama0706 I guess I don't do those things when I'm not pregnant either. So it's no huge sacrifice. If pickles were a listeria risk, I'd have an issue
@katesmama0706 Yup, listeria is most often found in soil/water so fruits and veggies can get a lot of exposure. There was a cantaloupe outbreak some years back and I remember hearing that the listeria was so resilient that even if the cantaloupe was washed on the outside the melon would still be contaminated when the knife cut through it. I don't avoid deli meat, soft serve, or sushi because I could literally get listeria from anything and I don't think that limiting those foods reduces my chances at all.
However, I refuse any and all alcohol during pregnancy. In the past I was an addiction counselor and I've seen far too many effects of drugs/alcohol on babies to want to bother with it.
My FFFC is that I went in to work at 1:30pm today for a half day because I had gas pains this morning until about noon, but I told my boss it was morning sickness because I was too embarrassed about it. I was literally butt up for about 2 hours trying to relieve it.
