I just want to say that the waiting point from finding out you are expecting to the first ultrasound is so long, I remember being impatient the first time around too!!
Yes!! I have an 8 week appt and it feels sooooo far. Not only that, it's a quick confirmation and then at 10 weeks I get a nice, long appointment. 10 weeks geez seems so far
Apparently I have to wait until my 18-20 week anatomy scan for one! I can't believe it! It's a new practice for me, since I moved, and they do not normally do one at the 8-10 week appointment.

@JAGinMI Ditto. My practice doesn't do them until the AS for normal, low risk pregnancies. I'll hear the heartbeat at my first midwife appt at 10 weeks.
We're considering doing the NT scan because of family history, so I'll probably get one before the AS anyway. Super jealous of all the early pregnancy ultrasounds I'm seeing on here.
It IS the hardest. I'm stuck waiting till 11weeks. (Could be a week longer, still not scheduled) But I try to remember that 1- we're lucky we aren't high risk, lots of moms that have these early scans have them because of precious losses or other issues. And 2-waiting longer will let us see more of baby! They grow a lot in the first few weeks and we'll see more than just a blob.
Agreed with @kjd291 above... I was in the same boat and would've had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks, but then I started bleeding on Monday and went in at 6 weeks 4 days. Definitely could have waited until 8 weeks to not go through the scare I did!

I feel you! I decided to go with a midwife this time and I'll only get my assessment/confirmation appointment at 11 weeks, which will be August 23rd, and they'll only be using a Doppler until my 20 week anatomy scan. With my OB the first time, he had an ultrasound machine in his office which he used at 8 weeks to confirm pregnancy and every appointment after to see progress. Such a long wait, I've almost decided to call my OB just to get in for that confirmation appointment and ask to see him alongside the midwives.
